Will Pop'n Music ever come to the US?

listen i like because of that to but i'm serious a lot if my american friends think that i'm girly because I play pop'n thats what i meant I don't care what it looks like
I just love the music but apparently i think thats what matters to a lot of people is the look...........

On a DAY to DAY basis im surrounded by kids my age who have the character depth of a puddle in the Saharah Desert. -_-

Theyre all similar... If they like "anime" or "KAWAII NEKO NEKO JAPANNN!", the only thing they really think exists from Japan is Pocky, Inu-Yasha, FMA, Bleach, or Naruto. All the thick skulled males constantly rant about Guitar Hero and how they "mastered expert mode! Gawd im so kewl!". =___="

I tried showing some guys in my Freshman class a few months ago Pop'n Music 9, (I only have 9 and 13 xD ) and they seemed to be enjoying themselves... but it was only from a laughing spurt of how "gay" it was. They all said the only thing missing was "Mickey Mouse jumping around singing Hakuna Matata." >_>; Made me mad as hell at their ignorance... but the few "normal american teens" who said they enjoyed it still said it was strange. They couldnt seem to wrap their heads around it one bit. Pathetic? Yes.

Anyway, I think the "cool" problem would be a huge issue in sales, thus leading me to wish and hope they'll NEVER bring Pop'n to america. I read in the earlier posts that the japanese company is maybe trying to figure out a way to market or appeal to American kids, but if they changed it in any way for the sole purpose of marketing... Id literally melt down. T__T;

Pop'n is just one of those treasures that doesnt really deserve to be torn apart by the typical american teen public, like many other things from Japan. Americans are really close minded... and while we play it not for the reason of being cool, they would. Guitar Hero is nice, (hell, its Bemani. I still respect it.) but 90% of the kids I see who rant about it, its dead obvious its just because its "cool."

Overall, I would be HEARTBROKEN if Pop'n got the negative american treatment.

Hmm, I don't think I've gotten the Pop'n is "gay" comment even once when I've introduced random people that walk into the arcade or other people that watch it while im or others are playing. (and many of these people are ones you would think would call it gay) But perhaps that is the difference between arcacde and home version. They seem to be more focused on the big buttons and the the lights, and don't even notice the hyper cute characters. I've never really noticed it to be honest, but I haven't introduced CS pop'n to anyone outside of my group of friends, so maybe there is a difference. I honestly hear a LOT more people coming into our arcade and calling DDR gay hehe.

And I play Pop'n because it is FUN, not because it is cute/cool/etc etc.. I thought that is mainly why people played games....

YES! 8O Pop'n is fun. And that IS what games are for to people. To have fun.

Granted, I love Pop'n alot because of how lovable the characters are. xD (Including every other factor about the games, but this is what hooked on me.)

For instance: Zizz. Im obsessed. It takes alot for a game to have that factor of well-done and appealing characters, and look at Pop'n: Its got like a million through the whole 1-15 and I love each one. (OwO)" As with alot of people. (Even the creepier/random ones: still loved. <3 )

As for the idiot "gay" crap: Yeah, but take into account how most of my class is filled with complete, unintelligent, numb headed jock-tards. 8D I honestly wasnt expecting much: they seemed interested when I talked about it though, they asked about the art on my binder and my Timer keychain. :3

Overall, it seems that if its not the biggest, hippest gaming fad at the moment, most "regular" teens arent going to like it that much. :/

True true... DDR is bashed alot from first impressions: and the kind of bad rep the media has given it. (TV shows, Movies..)

BUT I cant vouch for the whole US, Im talking more just what ive seen in replies in my dinky little crud of a Highschool. D8< From the most close-minded types of people. (You know what im talking about.)
If the kid has seen some form of art similar to the art in Pop'n, they can at least comprehend it better and have some respect for it, not automatically calling it "childish". =_=

POP'N MUSIC IS FUN AS HELL IF MY FRIENDS JUST FOCUS ON THE GAMEPLAY INSTEAD OF THE CHARACTERS THEY WOULD GET HOOKED! I have some dumb*** friends they don't know what fun gaming is.

P.S. I think guitar hero is boring the music is good but the gameplay sucks you just stand there moving your fingers only now thats boring

Well, I do wish theres a US ver. of Pop'n. But yea. Will have bad sales. :V (Like everyone said here.)

And compare to Guitar Hero and this... I like Pop'n Music better~ It's fun, colorfull and cute... And yadayada. (I'm not into carrying a guitar anyway... Unless this game has songs I want. :V)

And don't have much Pop'n friends nearby me. (Only person I know is "Tim!"... And my sister and little brother. I tried to get them hooked. XD)

Well Guitar Hero isn't a bad game per se. It still gives better rewards to players than any of BEMANI division games. The games are geared towards people who have enthusiasm in the Rock scene. So it isn't too bad, just not as diversified as I'd would like. but not bad.

OH i forgot my friend Haley she is the only friend that likes pop'n music she likes everything about it !*sighs* it's just to bad she moved to hawaii at least we still keep in touch.
