YouTube - Ar Tonelico Theme - Beta 3 (SM 3.95)

Look at this, the comments, and the description. It doesn't matter what you think of my work in particular. This is an insult to the time and effort every real themer has ever put into their craft.

I know there are several other edits out there, some in fact by those who are respected members of our community today. In that, perhaps a poor example has been set--but it'll only continue if we let this stand.

I'd like to see this stop. And I'm going to put XIII+ on the line: the day development on that hack ceases is the day XIII+ sees a release. If any other themer wants to take a stand with me here, please do.

Thanks in advance for any support from anyone, no matter who it is and what it involves.

I gave it a try. He won't seem to budge. It's pretty obvious that the idea behind copyrights doesn't occur to him.

Okay, guess what? This little saga isn't over, because someone apparently doesn't intend to keep his promise.

SKS:Ar Tonelico Requires Logo banners and Common Fallback backgrounds.

He wants all branding removed from the theme and wants to release it afterward (as if this would make the theft any less obvious).

If he doesn't back down, invasion may be the only option.

Not surprised. I vote leeching his bandwidth. Or DDoS.

Back on the legal side, if he's going to be approving each member to his forums individually, then it'll be awful hard (or take awful long) to get anything done by invasion.

If he has to approve each member individually and enough of us register, he'll never get any real members on his forum, so no problem

It happened to a fucking lot of us, and myself included, several times. And its going to continue for the foreseeable future.

It sucks but thats the way it is.

Oh, of course this sort of thing has been going on for a long time.

If you ask me, though, it's about time we actually bothered to pay attention--especially now that themers are increasingly being viewed as indebted to the public in some way.

You're talking about Dark Element back on DDRMX, of course. At that time, yes, Sestren "freaked out", but with good reason, and people paid attention. Because at that time, people understood that hard work goes into what we all do.

I think it's about time we get our respectable name back. If you don't want to start with this, fine, we can wait until someone who doesn't piss you off gets their work stolen. But that's silly.

But I'm really thinking the option of leaving the public theme scene if someone uses my DDR SuperNOVA2 theme with no punishment over the one who dares to do that without permission. Crediting is not permission.

I don't think invasion will be the best method. All that does is annoy them. At least a DDoS will shut him out for a bit. If someone could get him an email virus or something, that would be fun, bit with all the email clients scanning for viruses, that might be out of the question. This does have to stop. If he honestly thinks he can get away with stealing graphics/metric/everything else, modding it without permission, and getting away with it, we'll have to show him he can't. Also, I just got an account on his site, and it didn't check me. the activation was sent to my mail instantly, and I activated and posted anew thread right away. Invasion shouldn't be a problem if that's what we want to do. It just needs to be planned so it can happen all at once. I'm sick and tired of the scattered invasions, where attacks are spread out over a period of days, completely nullifiying the effect. For now, my account there will be 'idle'

cool cool, if you need any help at all I'm here. This is not something I can just sit by an watch. I'd be pissed if someone decided to slightly alter one of my songs, and call it there own, without asking permission to remix or whatever. Same concept, expect your themes are most likely better than my music :P
