Default Grading for SM on ITG2 Skin

Hello,
I am new at this but I have SM 3.9 and I downloaded the ITG2 theme from here:
http://stepmaniathings.com/themes/downloads/itg2.smzip

I was trying to get the grading to show like it does in the default Sm theme: AAA, D, E etc....
I read this post:
[SM][THEME]In The Groove 500Zb4
and made the changes and it seems better but the grading still seems off, does this work for all of the ITG themes. I scored a 75% and my grade was S another time I saw a B+ (not sure of the percentage).

Am I doing something wrong or is it just not possible with this theme?

Thanks,
Scott

I'm not completely sure what you're trying to do. If you are trying to have stepmania show the AAAA, AAA, AA, etc. then you need to edit the graphics, the theme metrics, or both. If you just want it to have the same percent tiers as default, than you need to remember that itg has more tiers than the default theme, so you will have to get rid of some of them.

OK this helps a little but let me tell you what I am trying to do. My wife and daughter use the Xbox version with the Ultramix 4 game. I am trying to switch them over to SM. They are use to the scoring on the Xbox ver. with AAAA, AAA , B, etc...
I see where the image files are and I see in the ini where the tier settings are, I am just not sure what to change them to.

I know I will have to redo some of the images since the ITG theme uses Stars and S's in some of the grades so I will have to make new images for the AAAA, AAA scores but I need help with the INI settings.

I am trying to get it as close to the xbox ver. as I can since they do not want to change over but I know will like it once they start using it.

Is this something you could help me out with????

OK so here is what I did, let me know if I am wrong about any of this.

I used the default INI file which hopefully will be close to the grading on the xbox version. The default INI only has 8 Tier's. I made new images for AAAA, AAA, and AA and used the current images in the ITG theme for A, B, C, and D. I also renamed the images to reflect only the 8 Tier's:

ScreenEvaluation grade Tier01.png =AAAA
ScreenEvaluation grade Tier02.png =AAA
ScreenEvaluation grade Tier03.png =AA
ScreenEvaluation grade Tier04.png =A
ScreenEvaluation grade Tier05.png =B
etc up to Tier8
and all the rest have the _blank file

This seems to work.

Does that sound like the right way to do it??

As far as I know, that is the way you are supposed to do it. The ini might have different values than ultramix, but other than that, it seems fine. You could change the values, but I don't think you will be able to find an ultramix accurate ini.
