how to make a theme

SOMEONE! Please post how to make a theme. I am doing everything WRONG!

I screwed up so bad, every background is black, with a pink center. So please someone post a good way to make a stepmania theme.

also can you make a theme using microsoft paint, thats what a tryed, and it seemed to fail on me.

Help.

EDIT: actualy, you should make a new topic and say how to make a theme, and make it a sticky.

You can make a theme out of paint.
In fact there is a theme (If I remember correctly) done all in paint.

But I wouldn't do that as you cannot make parts of pictures transparent in paint.

does not matter, Its all paint, but I would rather use a program that is better then paint that was free. Got a good one?

ya its to bad that I cant use that because very time I want to install it, it says to get GTK+, but I cant install it for some reason. Got any other good programs?
