I've been working on some theme concepts I guess and I want to know what you guys think.

These are WIP; I don't really have mockups for most of them but something's better than nothing

Concept One (codename blue) (canceled, no need to comment on this one anymore)

Concept Two (codename d.a.m.f.)

I guess I'm asking for this based on what I have now; Concept One still needs fleshing out but the gameplay is mostly final on it. Style menu would need other pictures but I don't know what.

Concept Two's Select Music is pretty much done barring some extra elements.

1. A bit too much reliance on rings (I use them a lot also, but usually with tons of other stuff around), and gameplay seems to be taking off in a different direction from the rest of the theme. It also feels a little too generic for the stuff you do and maybe that's just because there's a lot of work ahead for it, but if this is all then I'd put it down. I thought you hated System Zero anyway.

2. This is neat shit. It's different and looks fairly solid. Could use some polish but I assume that's coming. I think I've said this is awesome before at some point in time.

BTW it's late at night and I'm in insomnia mode so I'm not really supposed to be sounding harsh or whatever.

1 - No, it's too similar to System ZERO/SM4 Default.
2 - Yes, this could be interesting. Use some more 3D elements for great justice.

I agree that although the first concept looks too similar to System Zero the music wheel design of the second doesn't grab me as much. But then I've never been fond of flat music wheels but I must admit I do like the potential of the second concept as a whole.

Darn. I really like the first concept. The second one is.. blah.. really plain.

But whatever. I think the first concept has a lot of differences from the SM4 default, but it's really community demand, so throw it out.

If SM4 wasn't getting a new default, I'd vouch for the first as an update to SysZero, but since it is, no need for that.

The second one is the only other theme I've seen since Optical that truly caught my eye as something really worth downloading.

I like the fact it's really simple and to the point. Some things could be moved around though. Like the songtime. That may look better aside the BPM. Possibly adding a genre above the song title or, as not to be too much like IIDX, alongside the song title in the songwheel. Otherwise it's pretty much perfect with the font style and such.

The first is okay and would make a good replacement for the default but whatever if you've already abandoned it.
