I just picked a DDR song because if I showed any of the other folders, Renard may get mad at songlist spoilers for a certain video game coming out in 2008.

1.- Select "M*D·" folder(s)
2.- CTRL+X
3.- CTRL+V on any other folder aside of \StepMania CVS\Songs
4.- Run SM.

Well, for one thing, I know more about where AJ is going with the second one than is posted in the thread, and I'm consequently quite enthusiastic about it. The first one is basically a remake of System Zero, but AJ hated that theme and I don't want to see him torture himself working on it. I have a few other complaints about the first, but that's beating a dead horse to talk about them.

I wonder if other people have caught onto the inspiration behind the second one?

btw to everyone: only the gameplay was finalized in layout on the first design; if you made your judgment based on the layout of SelectMusic, you may want to consider that it would've eventually looked different. (original concept was a stepmania stardance/pump pro-like wheel)

CDTitle will be moved.
Song length may not be in the final product; if it is, it will be moved.

Concept 1 - yes, but remove groove radar and fix panedisplay fonts.
Concept 2 - no, it is simply, but imho it is a little TOO simply.

It's look really nice. The shift to blue song "wheel" text is a good change.

I don't see why people are upset about it being surgically clean though. It's nice to see something that isn't an example of a themer saying "needs moar overlays! ololol"

Edit: Are there going to be banners in this?

Well, consider what themes these people normally like, and you'll find your answer. Honestly, there's a place for everything, and IMO not enough people are taking the minimal approach.

There ARE more things in the background of shot 2 compared to shot 1 though.

I like it. But it's so plain, add a space for a banner somewhere, I mean you're not trying to copy IIDX (or are you?) Instead of the letter and number for difficulty, make it like SN style, put the meter and the full name (make it "Heavy [][][][][][][][]--" instead of "H 8") Everything else looks really good!

I'll support #2 assuming the background moves somehow. I kinda like the beatmania style track name/artist. I hope it turns out alright. I've never known AJs work to be bad, although I didn't like minimalia too much, it was way too plain and the menu music in it was annoying. But every other theme of his has been spectacular. I'm sure this one will be. I'll give it a chance :P
