Damn...that's really a disappointment!
Hope the work can be recovered...it's really a shame that so much work could be lost

This is why you release beta versions.

Takuya? The partition table was lost? So, you can't "use" the HDD, right?
If so, the Hiren's BootCD can help you.

Otherwise, if somehow you recovered part of the data and have written on the disc, there's a very high chance that you may have overwritten the cluster(s) where the data of the theme is stored...

Exclamation

The problem in detail is this:
I have a 160 GB HDD splited into 2 partitions: the first 40 GB and the second 120 GB.
I really want to have only one full disk partition... so:
1.- I deleted the first (40 GB).
2.- I rezised the second to the max possible, but there's 8 MB left to complete the full disk... so I create a new partition (8 MB) and force the merging to fill the entire disk.
3.- When all the process ends, it shows an error and no backup optons were displayed this time.

Then I could never ever start the program again, because it was shutdown every time because of the disk fail. The partition table was replaced and only a 8 MB disk was recognized.

Then I create a new partition on the available 150 GB. The partition was formatted using the fast option, to avoid deleting the data in the process.

And now PC Inspector only recovers cluster named files that obviously doesn't work for my purposes.... I'll try this now using Windows Vista (all the previous was using Windows XP).

Takuya... DON'T TOUCH YOUR HARD DRIVE ANYMORE OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR WORK FOREVER.

Follow this steps:
1.- Download "Hiren's BootCD" from HERE and burn it.
2.- Boot your PC with the "damaged" HDD connected and the BootCD in your CD/DVD drive
3.- Once in the BootCD's menu, go to Recovery Tools. You will find many useful tools for your problem, but the one I highly recommend is TestDisk 6.9b. It has helped me to recover partition tables that have been completely wiped out...

well it's too late he already touched it, if the mft was corrupted it was possible to fix that but when he formatted the partition, the mft was lost, now the only thing that he can recover are tons of files without names and extensions (100000+, including windows files), so it's almost impossible to get all the data back but it would be better if he follow your instructions wan maybe there is still a hope and hiren's boot disk have a lot of useful tools

Edit: I just remembered, since hiren's bootcd have legal and not so legal tools you can't download it from the official site, try google and "download hiren's bootcd"

Clearly all the other themes released this month were plagued with hard drive failure as well

Anyway, good luck, Takuya. It's got to be extremely hard to find that all your work may have suddenly been lost--hopefully you'll get it back.

You should never force those last 8mb. they are kept as spare sectors so if parts of your drive silently fail the drive can simply remap.
