not exactly. he can still do the themes as long as stepmania 4 does not go through any drastic changes. any little changes can probably be fixed up quick depending on what they fixed

Updating themes between 4 versions isn't that hard usually (except for huge updates like February '07/switch to Lua).

The next build is probably going to be a pretty big pain in the ass though, there is an entirely new default theme.

During the new DDR SN2 development for SM4.0 I decided to take many ideas from my SN1 base theme and something interesting happened under that development phase: there's new progress on the SN1 theme for SM3.9 (no release date yet).

I have found that there's a new SN2 development in progress for SM3.9, that's very good news and that theme is looking nice...

But I have to say that I'm really bothered due to the extensive use of my SN1 theme in the new SN2 project... no excuses are allowed, because of this disclaimer:

Files seems be lost forever... that change a lot everithing concerning with my themes.

Here's what I'm going to do with this incident:
1.- DDR SN2 theming skills do exist; so I only have lost the work, not the know how. That's mean that this theme will be redone some time.
2.- All my themes (with no exception) cannot be used as base either as reference, including metrics, animations, images, art, music and all related stuff, that's because they're the remaing stuff I have and it belongs to me. I change my mind about giving permission to work with my stuff. This applies to all themers that have my permission to use SN1 as base.

Finally I have to thank you guys for all the support during this years...

i seem to recall a large amount of material you use was given to you by the community and/or ripped straight from the games

it's obvious that the theme as a whole represents your intellectual property but all of its individual parts, i'm not certain

oh well, license it however you want i guess, you know i hate theft as much as you do

For now I'm refering to the intelectual part of the theme (all except the ripped material, graphics, music and fonts)... I really don't wannna to share my theming work for now (maybe someday), because of what happened a couple of months ago with the SN2 theme, and I don't have to remember that this is a very sensible point for me.

So... with my disclaimer I only say one thing:
DON'T TRY TO USE MY WORK FOR MAKING RECREATION THEMES... ONLY ISOLATED PARTS OF MY THEMES CAN BE USED IN 'ORIGINAL PROJECTS'.
IS FORBIDDEN TO USE MY WORK TO MAKE SIMILAR OR RELATED DDR THEMES USING MINE AS BASE.

Please start from zero or try from 'new novae' for SuperNOVA; tamagokun or dark templar themes for DDR Extreme.... I really don't wan't to share a line of my code if a theme is used to recreate some DDR arcade game that I've tried to simulate.

YOU DON'T HAVE ANY RIGHT TO CLAIM COPYRIGHT OVER THE DDR THEME ELEMENTS (IMAGES, SOUNDS, VIDEOS, ETC), EVEN IF _YOU_ RIPPED THEM. THEY ARE COPYRIGHTED BY KONAMI IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE ONLY THINGS THAT YOU CAN CLAIM COPYRIGHT OVER IN THE ENTIRE THEME ARE THE METRICS AND THE SCRIPTS (BGANIMATIONS).

Wan, you miss understood my post XD... but AJ clear it up :P

My point is to not share my experience and knowledge unless I quit theming, then (and only then) all my work will be donated to the comunity... for now it belongs only to me.

About images, and all riped stuff... I really know that those cannot be copyrighted or something similar for me.... I already know that, I'm not so stupid :P

So... I ask you to stop using my metrics to build themes!!

Due to this circunstances...

DDR SuperNOVA2 Beta 1 release date for SM3.9 will be scheduled arround September 28th (or even earlier).

DDRSuperNOVA Beta 3 release date will be informed and scheduled during the next days.

The SN1 and SN2 projects for SM3.9 will be finished the best that SM3.9 can support.... during the next days I'll give more info and images.

Your support will help to finish both themes faster.
