It might not be quite as smelly a piece of monkey excrement if better graphics were used and said "dude" learned how to theme better.

Man, this thread is so useful and Takuya's themes are so freakin awesome that I can't believe why in heck the mods haven't stickied this yet. It's ALWAYS within the top 5 posts on the page. Keep workin' on SuperNOVA Takuya, can't wait till it's out of beta!

Well, we have a pratice of not sticking the projects. And the only reason why we have the things sticked like they are is because these are common questions and conserns. The hosting thing comes up alot, the supernova thing, and then theres the rules and tag guide. Now, most themers just have one project per a thread, but in the case of Takuya and to a lesser extent dieKatze88, they have multipule projects for the same thread. Now if there was only one thread per a project, then who knows which thread would be higher.

I stopped doing that. I just make a new thread when theres a new release now, since theyre so far apart.

DDR EXTREME Rev. 7.0 [WIP]
- Added all original game sounds, replacing StepMania ones.
- Arranged socore frame.
- Fixed Warning graphic layer priority in Select Style screen.
- Added arcade behaviour for Radar Base and labels.
- Radar Graph is now contained inside of its Base.

DDR Arrows v 4.0 [WIP]
- Updated all graphics with PS2 Rips... now all shapes match Konami's original.
- Vivid arrow colour now match Arcade (Arcade Rips).
- SOLO set have the most correct setting for colours to the date (updated all colours).
- SOLO: Now two purple arrow sets are present.
- All sets: Finally added diagonal arrows, enabling SOLO play mode with all arrow sets.
*** Now working on 5th and 3rd Mix arrows ***

Hey Takuya, this is a minor problem with DDR arrows 2.8, but it's kinda driving me crazy. I have EXTREME arrows as the default skin, but the thing is, it always says "EXTREME" on the song select, gameplay, and results screen. It bugs me. So I tried to rename it to default and rename all the other ones (FLATEX--> Flat, SOLOEX--> Solo, etc.) But when I did that, the noteskin wouldn't change, it stayed default when I changed it to note, flat, solo, or whatever. So I can't. Can you help me get it to not say "EXTREME" everywhere?

I have exactly the same problem maxx freak. I rather wish the Stepmania team would just ask Takuya to use his extreme arrows as the default.

I have nothing against the team but the Stepmania default arrows are just... bad.
I pretty much always just use Takuya's as they are what I would expect for a default noteskin. The only problem is like you say, the name of the noteskin always showing.

I think that the problem may be caused by the theme itself.... I mean, if you use my arrows as default changing the name's folder from EXTREME to DEFAULT it would work fine with almost all themes, but my DDR themes uses EXTREME and all its variants as default theme arrows when you go to Player Options screen or when you play ONI.... that feature is programed into metrics avoiding to load other set of arrows (non DDR ones).
So, if you want to play with other kind of arrows or custom name folders you must go and edit the metrics file to match your request or wait until I release my new DDR Arrows 4.0 and themes that match the new names with the plus that they will include alternate metrics to cover other options like StepMania's behaviour and the chance to choose more options and arrow sets of your own preference.
