Sorry man, but I can't give you that permission even if you credit me... there's a lot of work and invested time on the theme to allow that.

I suggest you to mod StepMania in the DDR way and I model my themes to fit in your SM DDR mod... I have more suggestions to mod the source at the exact DDR point. Your SM DDR mod is good, but still needs some source and theming work to be a DDR exact copy.

I hope you accept my suggestion... Im VERY, VERY INTERESTED on the project, not just for extreme (max is on the list).

ok that means this will never be released, because the metrics are part of this.
its not as if i have done nothing. this project currently has near 2 years of hard work, and the last months i have been working *all my free time*, 12 hours a day. how much time i have put into everything wont differ much from how much time you put into VS4. note i deliberately didnt touch the VSX1 theme etc. also you seem to forget i donated graphics, although you replaced them with your blurry black bordered screenshot graphics by now. if you wonder, i don't like your new theme graphics much, i prefer my own (which are mostly hand drawn based on screenshots)

alternatives i have:
- accept your offer, which can mean complications: - i'd atleast want to use my own graphics, not your new ones, - you want a big visible takuya logo in the ending credits (hint: i have no visible reference to myself atm, i prefer authenticity), can the release still be one big package? my theming contains things like hardcoded lists of songs/courses. working together here can make things very slow/awkward.

- create my own metrics based on SM defaults. that means metrics.ini, and all bganimations. this will set me back an unknown time from months to a year. this may never be done.

- ask katze for his metrics. if he says yes, this would set me back only roughly a month to a few months, and then he will be credited instead.

- not releasing anything, keeping this for myself, the video is the last thing you have seen of it. i will also cease all contributions to the community, and take the BG video related projects offline. in addition, some people in this thread were quite enthusiast about this. they wont like you.

your choice.

Eh, if you didn't ask permission to mod beforehand, the general rule is no sympathy, regardless of the work you do on it.

I suggest you ask Katze, it looks like a good option.

But seriously, Takuya probably is more into theming and wouldn't care about BG scripts being pulled. And BG video downloaders who haven't heard about this thing might just direct their hatred at you. And I'd have to modify my first post in BG scripts. Again. Unfortunately, I'm a lazy person.

I forgot that this is for FUN and not for personal reasons... our spent time theming, making scripts, bg videos, etc... may be wasted time, but is my choice to use it in that way and I can't blame others for that... I'm apologize for that selfish behaviour and I really like everibody colud play your vision of StepMania.

I'm not the owner of the theme, the code or graphics... I just play coding and drawn them to give you something for entertainment... I'm sorry... Go ahead and show us what StepMania is able to do.

i find this difficult to interpret, but i think you're giving me permission. thanks for this, i appreciate it. i think we all have the same goal, ddr simulation, and we should be able to borrow from each other. we're not commercial, we don't do this for a living. note that i *do* consider things to be owned by who made them. i find crediting very important, and i do so consistently and detailed, for ddr stuff i do this on the website, where the description and download link of something are (reference: see the BG videos pack, on http://ddr.bircd.org/). what i hate, is people who take something and claim they make it from scratch. it has happened to me before.

oni bug: atm, the animation when the course changes isnt exact. it "animates in" (SM), also if you change difficulty on nonstop (patched). but i didnt implement the "animating out". doing the oni bug would depend on this. its not in my todo list. it would be cool if it worked, ofcourse.
