Dang, I can't find any songs I really like to step for solo that aren't already taken. I think I might drop out. So far nobody has taken Z3. I wonder why. XD

None of the files submitted when I checked at like 7 were paddable.
Unless you take ITG difficulty levels mixed with solo, then you get these files. :-p

Can you elaborate, please? I think I took pretty careful consideration to make my song (ITG) paddable, and I'd like to know where/if I screwed up.

*Not paddable for someone who plays DDR, not ITG.

:-D

...or me in other words.

On second thought, anyone who's ever played Solo couldn't pass that without a lot (tons) of practice.

I guess theoretically someone could also take the original Ichirin no Hana, although I already made my choice. :P

Hay guys, in under an hour I can now adequately play StepMania in Solo mode.
EDIT: 2 hours in, I can combo 16th runs!

and I have a question. My song doesn't warrant a 10, but it's coming out to be approximately an expert 9 in ITG and it doesn't seem right to make it in hard mode, should I just suck it up and do it in hard? (the rules say if it's a 10 it should be on challenge and if it's a 9 it should be on heavy, right?)

Yeah I was wondering the same thing actually. The way mine's going, it's going to be an oni remix... on heavy.

I was worried about that, too. Especially because my ITG entry seems to be headed for an expert 9, which is allowed in ITG.

So is it allowed? Was that rule a typo?

That rule doesn't matter too much in the greater scheme of things so if you want to make it a "challenge" chart when it's a 9, even though it doesn't matter too much go ahead, you won't get docked any points.
Don't be making anything like a 7 a challenge chart though.

Also, can I have an example of what the .zip folder should be named? The example given in the rules ("DDR OSC 5 - Solo") wasn't enough to give me a clear understanding of what I should name it. I remember naming my .zip for my Samba Brazil simfile "[DDR] - Samba Brazil", which is really quite different from "DDR OSC 5 - DDR".
Errr, is someone going to actually answer my questions or am I supposed to figure this out all by myself? I'm not going to just let my file be DQ'd accidentally the first and only time I can submit it.

Are we allowed to enter any extra non-judged solo charts?

Good news for me since my file's keyboard.

And Infinity

1. No, you do not.

2. I put my contact info in there again, as well as some comments on the steps themselves

3. [SOLO] - Domino
That's what I submitted my file as.

Thanks for the help, Eggman. With that, I'm just about done with my simfile, and I will upload it soon. I hope it does just as well as I intended it to.

Eggman got it right. Submit the filename as [SOLO] - (entry name), with foldering as follows:

Songs -> DDR OSC 5 - Solo
(or OSC5 challenge or whatever, just make clear it's for the extra round, I'll be putting them into OSC 5 - Solo anyhow ^^
-> (Your song name) -> (the files go inside the song name folder like usual)

Next time we'll be working to make that part clearer.
