What do you have to do? One stepchart for each time you're listed, one week, four rules. Easy right?
Of course, the four rules are what makes this tricky.
1) The stepchart's gotta be for an OSC 5 song (from
any division) besides your own. You gotta reserve that song here so it's not redone. Alternatively, you can reserve a song then use a remix of it (In the vein of DDR Max2's "Oni Mixes")
2) That stepchart has to be for DDR Solo (6-panel) mode, and in the vein of your winning entry's division (DDR'ers simply study DDR Solo, ITGers need to imagine what ITG solo might be like, including how to place the mines and rolls and whether 'false' triples (up-upleft + right) are valid, etc, and KB soloers... Yeah.) Assume a standard-positions DDR Solo pad for DDR and ITG (Look closely at the official Konami pads and you'll see it), and 789-46-2 OR R567U-Space (or one of the many equivalents) for keyboard.
3) That one chart needs to be either Heavy (up to 9 foot), or Challenge (10 feet or more).
4) That chart can adjust the source file as much as you wish. Fix the BPM or GAP, add new speed changes, remove some others, change the song itself to not have a fadeout, even add a video if you want. However, you should provide a readme to list all changes made that are
not related to your stepchart, as well as (for KBers) what position the chart was made for and other relevent info.
You make the chart, shove the COMPLETE FILE (MP3, stepfile (which should ONLY have your chart in it!), graphics, all of it) into a ZIP (removing all the original charts), and then send it to us, foldered like the original except that it should be "DDR OSC 5 - Solo" instead of "DDR OSC 5 - (division name)".
There will be a Challenge Round Public Review, with people rating the chart out of 20 - if you made significant changes to the file itself, people can rate the chart out of 15 and changes out of 5. It will also be judged by, quite frankly, whoever out of the original team we can get, with them rating out of 30, or 25 and 5 if there's changes. There will be no rating for appropriate difficulty, but bugs are -5 to your score. Unlike the original which said "is it fun?", the songs should be judged by factors like:
* Technical accuracy
* Workability of chart relative to song
* Playability in the assumed environment (pad for DDR and ITG, keyboard for KB)
* Use of the extra arrows
* Enjoyability of the song - if you just didn't like it you should not be afraid to drop the score a little.
The specifics are up to the individual reviewers and judges.
The average of the judge's scores, plus the average of the public reviews, plus your original entry's score, is your challenge round end score. The top one third (top 2 for KB) scores go to the final vote, alongside those who skipped.
Start your reservations now. The original plan would have given you until the 25th - due to the delays, this is getting changed to the 28th. Reserve your files and get going on them - you have seven days to complete and send in the charts. (The uploader will be checked and relinked in a few days.)
It is highly recommended that you try creating a couple Solo charts in songs that someone else has reserved or haven't been reserved at all, or stuff from past OSCs, to try and get some feel for what you want to do here before making your actual entry. Release them to the public somehow (thus why I'm saying OTHER songs not your reserved one!) to get feedback. Play other's, give them feedback (just keep it constructive). People other than the Challenge Round entrants are also encouraged to mess with this concept some, to give the entrants some ideas. You have the canvas of existing files to mess with, enjoy them!
To reserve a song, just state it in this thread. A Challenge Round Discussion thread will be established in five minutes here, so please,
only reservations in this thread, and only if you are one of those listed up above. Remember, if you got to the Challenge Round in multiple divisions, reserve one song for each division (and specify which is going where please!).
EDIT: When finished, files may be uploaded here:
http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/upload.php Unlike usual, I will not be dealing with re-takes, period. Get it right the first time please.
