There will be no rating for appropriate difficulty, but bugs are -5 to your score. Unlike the original which said "is it fun?", the songs should be judged by factors like:
* Technical accuracy
* Workability of chart relative to song
* Playability in the assumed environment (pad for DDR and ITG, keyboard for KB)
* Use of the extra arrows
* Enjoyability of the song - if you just didn't like it you should not be afraid to drop the score a little.
Yes, there is an enjoyability, but that DOES NOT apply to sucky graphics that existed previously. If you really need to, take them out.

*THIS ROUND IS BASED ON ONE SINGLE CHART. NOT A PACKAGED SIMFILE!*

...We all on the same page now?

Ah yes, finally a review that rates my simfile as the best from Bracket 2 (well, excluding his and Azure Height's own entry of course )! Exactly what I'm looking for from someone's thoughts about my entry! Thanks pokecapn!

My review should be written soon. I'll just go over some songs that I'm a bit uncertain about and ensure certain patterns within their stepcharts aren't doublestepping.

Can I ask why you only see reviews that compliment your file as worth something? I'm happy for any feedback I get, good or bad, as it all helps me to ensure I don't make the same mistakes again/do the same things right in the future.

For example, for DDR B1, I learnt that my Eurobeat simfiles have gotten to the stage where they are too hard for their own good and the fun has been taken out of them for most people, so in future I'll tone down the stream and 16th usage to make things (hopefully) more enjoyable for players.

Anyway, in other news - I PMed my judging for Solo round to Neko and BLueSS. Looking forward to seeing the results

Well, if you're directing this post at me, then no, sure I view the negative feedback as something important. After Jammitch rated A Voice Spoke To Me 62/100, lower than even Satellite, Day Dreamer, and Stickshifts and Safetybelts, I used his comments to make vast improvements over my simfile to make it less overdone and more interesting, and I plan to submit it to the simfile database once the competition is over. However, seeing how much I want Samba Brazil to make the final vote, I'd desperately be wanting enough positive feedback for my fffff simfile that it can. As Jammitch and pokecapn ranked it as among the best in DDR Bracket 2, it makes me pleased and gives me a lot more hope than when the first review was posted.

Yesterday I played through the rest of the challenge round solo charts on my CF. I wish I could write a public review though, as I basically enjoyed every entry from this solo division.

Here's my list of gripes for some of the entries:
High School Love: Steps need better flow, awkard foot placement on the interactions between jumps and 8th notes
Inner Univerise - your new speed up is annoying.
Jump: - Mine field jumps don't make sense with the accents in the music
Little Little Princess - The first sudden slowdown really screwed me up really bad. Had to take 6 attempts in order to survive past this section...

My review is finall posted, accompanying only 4 other reviews (one of them currently incomplete). Yeah, there really aren't enough reviews for this bracket, so I can only hope most people are saving to post their's until the last minute, which apparently is now.

EDIT: I have a question regarding the results. As the top 1/3 in the ITG/DDR brackets get to advance to the final vote, will 3 or 2 simfiles get to move on for my Bracket (7 simfiles)? In other words, do the simfiles by authors who did not enter solo steps count on the fraction? This is important to me, as based on the public reviews, I predict my solo entry to rank 3rd, behind Radio Star and Samba Brazil.

All the songs are possible to move on, even if they did not enter the challenge round. The chance of any song scoring better than ones that entered the challenge round anyways is slim.

And for calculating the 1/3, the songs that move on are 1/3 of the ones ELIGABLE for the challenge round, not 1/3 of who entered.

Neko's going to get the results up tomorrow.

Guys.

The 4-hits in my song are not meant to be used with your hands.

I've clarified this like ten times now.

There are steps like this in DDR Solo. Maybe Dancing Stage, I can't recall. But they're there.

I was hoping to see more interesting triples (786, 742, 982, etc) and quads (4789 or 7896) in the ITG bracket but everyone seemed to go for the hands.

Actually, what I meant was that since not everyone eligable for the challenge round submitted a solo entry in hopes of moving to the final vote, I was wondering if the 1/3 of those who continue to the final round counts either 2 people (only out of the 7 people from DDR Bracket 2 who did made a solo stepchart during the challenge round) or 3 people (all 9 people who qualified).

He already answered your question.

9 people are eligible for the challenge round in each bracket. 3 will make it to the finals. The ones that didn't enter solo charts are still in the running, albeit at a massive disadvantage.

And to both of you, there's no a in eligible (which is not the same as illegible).

pokecapn: As I understand it, DDR's step format won't let you have more than two of the four cardinal panels in a jump, but it treats the corner arrows as a separate chart, letting you have up to two corner arrows and up to two cardinal arrows. Thus all of your suggested patterns would be valid in the DDR division, not just the ITG division.

Appologies for delays on the results. Unfortuantely, homework is getting quite in the way.

I will finish it before I get to sleep tonight, but I do not know when that will be. :|
