Well, I'm still waiting on Juub005 for maximum quality, but here's what I have of the DDR Bracket 1 results so far! http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...H - DDR B1.txt http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...ntsZounder.txt http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...Reviews-B1.txt http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...ging-hawke.xls http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...ingZounder.xls http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...RB1judging.xls
And the fun part (These are tentative and not official, thus the lack of place calculations or listing of who goes on or not - and only in ODS because the stupid FTP isn't working right to send the HTML for some reason): http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...Results-B1.ods http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/osc5/j...esults-B1.html
B1 = Beta 1 BTW.
Gentlemen, start your error checking!
EDITS:
1) Azure wins the first 100 tokens and rep boost for noting that it's a 3.5/10, not a 35/10.
2) Sorry, the link errors aren't calculation fuckups.
3) Just keep in mind that making it into two Challenge rounds means you do two different charts

And a 4 out of 18? Jeez. People call me harsh and the worst I gave out was a 7.5 out of 18 - and that was to a file that was offsync by an eighth note.
I'm personally hoping that by OSC 6 we can put this "division" stuff behind us and just get back to making quality stepfiles of whatever mold we choose rather than trying to emulate two particular companies' ideas of fun.
More edits: Hawke judged himself, or at least it seems so from the spreadsheet.

I mean, I'm personally somewhat insulted (well, as far as stepfiles matter and all that), but as a judge you shouldn't be afraid to stomp egos and if you didn't mean it you shouldn't have written it in the first place.
Now, Zounder's comment I do want changed, even if it doesn't affect the grading, because it's factually incorrect. Not to mention that you can be "from IIDX" and still a creative song choice.

I was told by another person (I honestly forget who, whoever it was I trusted their facts) that it was from IIDX, and I could have sworn I saw it in the readme when i checked. My apologies.
But guess what?
You get one more point! Horray! That one point was totally worth blasting me for, wasn't it?
And just for the record the 4/18 thing seems like it is directed at me but I gave you a much higher score than that.

Originally Posted by jammitch! Not to mention that you can be "from IIDX" and still a creative song choice. | Yay for ignorance! Read the preliminary comments at the top of my judgings, please. I specifically note that IIDX songs are exactly minus one point, and a song can be from IIDX and still get a decent creativity score, as high as 3/4. Shake It Down received a minus one for Beatmania and still got 3/4. So don't play that card.
EDIT 2: My lack of knowledge of other bemani games is apparent again as I got the wrong game for Disco Dog, and once again I am sorry. Score remains the same though (still minus one point), but if somebody wants to fix the comment they can. Thanks for not flipping out like jammitch! did.

Ah well. I'm going to fix it up a tad. First off, the BPM thing I was against at first but now I'm thinking that's how I screwed up. :P Graphics are now being improved as well.
Congrats to you victors. I'm sure you deserve it. *claps*
Hopefully next time all the first timers and ones who did bad here will do better next time.

Total Tokens: 7,455,153.08 Donate Tokens | I don't care about the point (no really, not at this point), I just want it to be right. I mostly made it bold so that it didn't get missed, and you saw it, so I'm fine now.
In the future, checking Hibroad if you aren't familiar with IIDX would save this problem.
I admit to taking 3 seconds to scan the reviews for my song and that's about it. I still think a blanket -1 for IIDX isn't the best of ideas but it's certainly within your realm as a judge. After all the crap I take off points for I'm not going to complain. (and I think Good-Cool is a smidge less creative than gabba, but I'm not judging DDR, and Shake It Down was pretty good regardless...)
The 4/18 thing was to PH, and he addressed it. I thought about differentiating the two, and probably should have, but it was just a general comment. It was mostly an "and you people called me harsh" comment.
I'm not doing a very good job of being understood this competiton. I'm trying to toe the line between having a chip on my shoulder and being diplomatic about it, but it's tougher than it looks. :p
Also, so I'm not a total douche, thank you judges for taking the time to judge, even if I don't agree with you - I know how hard it is. Although I still have my beefs with all these reviews, I understand that's a battle I've long since lost, and this is something I'm intending to raise in the postmortem...

Just to clarify, the -1 is for any rhythm based/bemani game, not just IIDX, on the grounds that, well, if it's from another rhythm game, it can't be a perfectly creative choice. And remember, TM used to take off 10 points for IIDX, so I would say that beats any type of harsh seen in OSC thus far.
Anyway, let us move on. =P
I really enjoyed Last Regrets and I hope it pulls through.
