hey juub

thanks for implying that I don't know what the word "superfluous" means

also, I think it's pretty lame to take points off for gap since machines with different sound/video cards are going to be synched differently

and maybe I changed the synch to play it on a pad too

the point is, taking points off for gap is really dumb

also yes I get the pun

sorry guys, I guess from now on I'll write 7 footers to slow dancemania songs!

Actually this isn't a very good idea because people are going to tell you it's boring and needs more 16ths.

for the next contest I think I shall enter a dancemania speed cover of a famous pop song

it shall be between 170 and 185 in BPM and shall consist entirely of 8th streams of 3, 5 or 7 arrows in length and the occasional 4th jump

the graphics will be shiny enough to cause retinal damage

how can I lose?

:P

LXRE will sue! [/kidding]

On the top of Ranatalus' file, I think it being *.ogm had something to do with it's gap difference. That or his computer is wonky.

hello

I apologize for putting the "superfluous" "explanation" specifically in the comments for your file. It could've gone anywhere; I just put it down when I realized that it might not be a word for which everyone knows the meaning.

Also okay you can have 1.5 points back for the gap or whatever I took off. I thought the traditional judging cutoff for the "is GAP too far off" question was being off by more than .08 sec, but whatever.

edit: You know that I'm not the only one who took off points for your GAP value.

it came across more as "you are obviously an idiot and words with more than 3 syllables may confuse you"

I generally disagree with going with traditional anything, which is why I tend to create files that don't follow previously accepted norms. I am glad that I got as many positive reviews as I did. I expected to do SOMEWHAT better than 15th, but I realize that not everyone likes complications in their files. Some people just like straightforward 7s and 8s, which is fine.

I'm sure most people did take off for gap. you were just the last judge in and I was hoping for a slightly better score from you, lol

Either way I don't think gap should matter in judging. Oh no, it will take about an extra 10 seconds to autosynch the file before playing it through once, big deal. Even in a competition with 100 entries, that'd add up to a whopping 17 minutes of time

In case anyone is wondering, though, my style has changed significantly. I still do the eurobeat/speed stuff, but most of my new simfiles are less than 140 BPM and are different from my previous files, such as from nDDRo.

When Digit Dance launches, you'll see what I mean.

My graphics will still blind you, though.

Well, I'm glad with all the reviews I have gotten. I've now learned that I shouldn't use so many freezes in the steps and some other stuff.

For next OSC, I am wanting to do a 10 footer simfile that is fun and not ridiculously hard or gimmicky, If not, I'll probably make a simfile out of a rather "unique" song choice.
