2. Double stepping is when you have to use the same foot to hit two arrows in a row. For instance, the sequence Left, Down, Right, Left would force the player to double step if they wanted to continue facing the screen. It's something you should usually avoid if you can.

4. Perhaps, but in these competitions people expect the subtitle to only be used if it's actually a subtitle of the song, and often they expect the CD title to contain what the song is from, as opposed to your name. I don't care too much about that, but if you just write "Inugami" in the subtitle then it makes it look like the song is called "Hikari Inugami" or something and it's confusing. If you absolutely must use the subtitle field, I'd suggest writing something like "(From Inugami)" or "(Inugami Opening Theme)" so that there's no confusion (although this isn't the safest option since people will still object).

2. Ah, ok. Almost all of my steps have those, because I like it. Didn't know that this is called double stepping.

4. I will think about it.

Oh good. Last time I got blasted for going completely off on my own, this time I'm getting blasted for lack of creativity. Sigh.

Though if I had had time, I would have made Light and Standard steps to my One More Lovely file and submitted that instead, as that was one totally sweet set of steps, and I liked it more.

There's a delicate balance between the two, you'll find it more easily with practice

I did the same thing with my first two files, albeit the other way around.

Thanks for the comments on Dream of You so far - the two public reviews more or less confirm what I thought, that you're either gonna love it or hate it. If you have trouble with the 16th gallops, play Flash In The Night a couple of times and it might get you into the right frame of mind - I'm not saying they are identical, but DOY's synth section was sort of modelled on the feeling contained within FITN

Oh, and anyone that isn't sure about my Heavy steps, give Standard a go - it's not exactly a walkover as a 7 footer and is really fun and bouncy ^^

Because I wanted A New Ray of Light to have hands and mines, and I wanted Rock Steady not to? Does an ITG entry have to be harder than a DDR entry? Plus, I've never really catered directly to the masses to win a contest (and I've won two like that so whatever).

At which point we would have 1) blasted you for unoriginality in picking the most whored out song since Sakura, and 2) DQ'd you for picking a song that was already stepped by k//eternal in TM5.

Interesting fact about Minimoni (the group performing Aiin Dance No Uta) that I heard from sanchny the other day - one of the members, Mika, is half-American. Most people don't notice however because there are only a few indications of it, such as that she wears different clothes to the other three featuring stuff like stars-and-stripes on her armbands and "USA" on her hat. You know, subtle stuff like that.

Because there's no way I wouldn't have checked beforehand.

I wondered why she was wearing something totally different from the rest!

That video has to be the strangest video to accompany a simfile I've ever seen... beating Smily from WORLD TOUR and Yatta from Re-TM.

I have high hopes for Cheesemix 3 in that regard.

Gahh. All this reviewing is just making me more and more nervous about my own entry. X.x Which is the VERY LAST SONG you'll play in the next bracket (as I recall).

I also hate public review because it never fails, you start getting tired as you write up your reviews, you start getting snarky, and then people snark you back on your own file when it comes up.

And on a side note, I will be reviewing Light & Standard charts, because I at least have some idea of what they should be like.

Speaking of which, here's a better quality version of the Ai~n! Dance no Uta video [YSI link], ~19.3 MB, in case anyone wants it. The quality isn't that great at 9MB with all the motion.

I'll download it. But I don't think the public reviewers or judges should change their scores just because you have a higher quality vid.

EDIT: Yah, it seems a bit more clean.
