Please try and review as many files as you can. The more complete, the chances are your PR will be accepted.

This is how the public review works: *Changed a bit from last time*
Total Points Per Song /10
-Steps /6 - This is the same number the judges work with. Please try to play more than one chart if you can.
-Everything Else /4

The public reviews for each song will be averaged, and then multiplied by 4 to create the /40 of the /100 total points for each song in this round.

Any review can be thrown out by staff if deemed inadequate, irrational, or disrespectful. (Look at the KB ones for an example).

I'm only going to review heavy steps because I can't find a way to review all 4 or 5 charts with only 6 points... Sorry if I seem strict, don't take it personally. I thought it was pretty hard to judge with so little points. I'm not complaining at all, it's a fine system, it's just that with more points there would be a smaller difference of scores, if you know what I'm saying...

If I made any mistakes, just PM me or say so in the discussion thread.

----------

Jem - 24

Steps: 4.5/6
Some eighth note streams seemed a little weird. They didn't really fit. It wasn't anything big, and this is still a pretty good chart.

Everything Else: 3.5/4
The graphics were a little weird, but good enough. Interesting song choice, too. I didn't really like the song but I thought it was a neat choice for DDR so I had no problem.

TOTAL: 8/10

----------

Sonic Mayhem - Action Radius

Steps: 1.5/6
These are kind of dumbly hard. Some rhythms seemed off too. I didn't really enjoy these.

Everything Else: 2.5/4
I didn't really like the graphics, they were pretty boring. I didn't really like the song either, it isn't really something to dance to or anything.

TOTAL: 4/10

----------

Bakatono-Sama to Minimoni-hime - Ai~n! Dance no Uta

Steps: 5/6
I really liked this! I felt the end was a little over the top, though. I loved everything else about this, though. Good job!

Everything Else: 4/4
Nice video! I thought it was very funny. The graphics look a little stretched, and a little dirty if you understand what I mean, but they were good otherwise!

TOTAL: 9/10

I absolutely loved it!

----------

Breaking Benjamin - Blow Me Away
Steps: 2/6
Some parts were too hard and some parts were a little weird. Creative though.

Everything Else: 1/4
Those graphics are really ugly. I think the BPM should be half of what you had it, too. It also went on for too long.

TOTAL: 3/10

----------

Asletics - Disco Dog

Steps: 3/6
These honestly were really too hard. I felt the song good use something just more laid back and "groovy" if that makes any sense. It just seemed to follow most of the noises you heard when you had the change to be quite creative.

Everything Else: 2/4
The graphics are a little dumb. Well, a lot dumb. It's all on sync and otherwise it's all good.

TOTAL: 5/10

----------

Alvin - Domino

Steps: 3/6
The BPM gimmicks really ruined this, but I'm going to take those points off from everything else. This was kind of generic and you could have done much more with it, in my opinion.

Everything Else: 2/4
The BPM gimmicks were AWFUL. Keep it the same, the BPM doesn't change at all! I did like the BG animations, though. They fit the song really well! The graphics weren't bad either.

TOTAL: 5/10

----------

O-Zone - Dragostea Din Tei

Steps: 1.5/6
I'm sorry, but these are so boring. It's not because they're easy, though. It seems like you followed the vocals (and kind of weirdly, at that) and added some random jumps.

Everything Else:2/4
I absolutely hated the graphics. Please keep that kid out of your graphics.

TOTAL: 3.5/10

----------

Alvin - Dream Of You

Steps: 2/6
I was really disappointed with this. After the intro there is only one quarter note that isn't included in a stream that isn't a jump. The steps during the synth were stupidly hard. I had no clue what it was following, really. The whole chart on the whole seemed pretty uncreative, too.

Everything Else: 3/4
The banner was good, but I didn't like the background at all. The lyric file was a nice touch.

TOTAL: 5/10

----------

Hinoi - Emoticons

Steps: 5/6
I really liked these! There were some weird spins but I didn't think they did any bad, to be honest. This is just very fun!

Everything Else: 4/4
Nice graphics, nice everything! Very good file.

TOTAL: 9/10

----------

Orkybash - Geno's Woods

Steps: 1.5/6
How boring... it just followed obvious rhythms the whole time, mainly.

Everything Else: 2/4
Well it's on sync and has good enough graphics... but how am I supposed to dance to this song?

TOTAL: 3.5/10

----------

Scott Brown - Go Berzerk

Steps: 3/6
I think it was pretty repetitive, and the jumps were a bit ridiculous.

Everything Else: 1/4
It was on sync... but those graphics and that mp3 quality...

TOTAL: 4/10

----------

Gunther - Golddiggers

Steps: 4.5/6
Some streams were a little weird, but not bad. I don't understand that one sixteenth note during the "la la la" part, either. And the end could have been just slightly easier, in my opinion. Still a very nice chart!

Everything Else: 4/4
Nothing wrong here!

TOTAL: 8.5/10

----------

Yui Horie - Hikari Inukama

Steps: 2.5/6
I didn't like the sixteenth notes for the most part... The streams were weird. This file was kind of weird. It just seemed rather "messy".

Everything Else: 2/4
The graphics weren't good, on sync and everything though. You should have at least put a samplestart.

TOTAL: 4.5/10

----------

LRXE - Kagekiha

Steps: 2/6
Some weird parts where I wasn't sure what it was supposed to be following. Awful double stepping too.

Everything Else: 4/4
Off sync, but it was a gap issue and I don't think it's your fault. I really liked the video, and it's a nice song choice. It sounds like those Re-Venge songs.

TOTAL: 6/10

----------

Key - Last Regrets (Xmas Dance Mix)

Steps: 3/6
Some weird parts, I didn't like that long freeze. I don't really know what to say, it was kind of generic and strange.

Everything Else: 3/4
I didn't really like the background at all. The text didn't look very nice.

TOTAL: 6/10

----------

Prezioso feat. Martin - Let Me Stay

Steps: 3.5/6
Some streams seemed weird, I guess. There were a lot of different things you could have done that would have made more sense but it was still good.

Everything Else: 3.5/4
I didn't like the background but it looked okay enough.

TOTAL: 7/10

----------

Celine Dion - One Heart

Steps: 5/6
These were very nice! I just wish sometimes that it would follow the vocals less, but it wasn't a big deal in this case. Good job!

Everything Else: 3/4
The graphics seemed just a little rough, and the song seemed a little long. No big deal, not very extreme is both cases.

TOTAL: 8/10

----------

Terra Underground - Parasite World

Steps: 0/6
Ummm... you forgot to finish them...

Everything Else: 1/4
Awful graphics... you deserve another point off for not finishing your file.

TOTAL: 1/10

----------

DJ Miko - Radio Star

I made this!

----------

S.S.H. - Ragnarok Online Temp It Up

Steps: 2/6
Sometimes dumbly hard, some weird freeze problems, overall not very good. Sorry.

Everything Else: 1/4
The graphics aren't good to be honest. The graphics don't match the name of the song on the songwheel, which I thought was weird.

TOTAL: 3/10

----------

Diclonius Kid - Rock Steady

Steps: 4.5/6
These were a little repetitive. They were enjoyable enough, but nothing really stood out about them to be honest. I think the song choice really limited how enjoyable these steps are.

Everything Else: 3/4
I'm not liking the BPM gimmicks at all. Nice graphics and everything, though. Also, the challenge chart is dumbly hard, this isn't ITG. (This didn't really effect your grade, though, because I'm not judging challenge charts...)

TOTAL: 7.5/10

----------

DM Ashura - 7

Steps: 2/6
They're extremely double steppy, and that sixteenth note orgy was really weird, and included double steps.

Everything Else: 2/4
I don't like the graphics. Why don't the graphics match the text on the song wheel? I don't think this was really changed at all for OSC, either...

TOTAL: 4/10

----------

Good-Cool - Shake It Down

Steps: 5/6
The verses could have had something more creative... but it really didn't matter that much. This is very enjoyable and I really like it!

Everything Else: 4/4
I really like the BG videos! They fit nicely. Great song, the graphics are nice, just an overall very enjoyable file!

TOTAL: 9/10

----------

Jun Ishikawa/Dan Miyakawa - The Great Blue Sky and the Stars Above

Steps: 2/6
They really just followed the obvious rhythm the whole time, absolutely no creativity.

Everything Else: 1/4
The graphics are kind of ugly... the song does not fit at all...

TOTAL: 3/10

----------

Benjamin Diamond - These Emotions

Steps: 2.5/6
There were some awkward rhythms... I think the part at the slowdown was pretty bad, you could have cut that part out easily because you can't really dance to it...

Everything Else: 2/4
The graphics aren't good, they feel pretty cheap. It also seemed to go on for quite a long time.

TOTAL: 4.5/10

----------

Lia - Tori No Uta

Steps: 3.5/6
I felt it was a tad uncreative, and I didn't understand some sixteenths, but it was still quite solid!

Everything Else: 4/4
I don't see any problems! Nice graphics, nice song, nice video, whatever.

7.5/10

----------

A Teens - Under The Sea

Steps: 1.5/6
It follows the vocals mainly the whole time, and you messed up the rhythms a bit. It was weird with double stepping...

Everything Else: 3/4
I don't really like the banner, the BG is good.

TOTAL: 4.5/10

----------

Deja Vu feat. Tasmin - You Raise Me Up

Steps: 5/6
Some parts could have been more creative, but I felt these steps were really simple and just really nice. Very good!

Everything Else: 4/4
Nothing wrong. The graphics are AMAZING, the best of the bracket I'd say. I loved your song choice.

TOTAL: 9/10

Okay, here we go. Steps is my rating for heavy only (sorry).

I wonder if my scores are going to have to be normalised down. I handed out a lot of 9+s but then I felt there were a lot of good files in this pack and I don't believe in taking points off for steps that have nothing wrong with them, so...

(watch as I go and put myself at a disadvantage by giving high ratings to my competitors, heh)

24

Steps: 5/6 I can see why the 32nds are used and what they match, but I'm not positive they fit too well in the context of a 7 foot song. Other than that, no problems.

Everything Else: 3.5/4 I suppose the song sort of works, but it's awfully gloomy >_> And the graphics seem to suggest that it has something to do with the TV show, when it doesn't really. They're fine, tho.

8.5/10 Decent entry, good way to start!

ACTION RADIUS

Steps: 4/6 It's kind of just the same rhythm over and over again, but I'd be a hypocrite if I complained too much about that. You probably still could have mixed things up slightly more, tho, especially in this song's case. Steps are also a bit double-steppy and have a couple of short freezes.

Everything Else: 2.5/4 Not really what I'd expect to see in a DDR song, but it's okay. Graphics are also fairly standard. This definitely should not be rated 10, it's a 9 at best.

6.5/10 It's alright.

AI~N! DANCE NO UTA

Steps: 5.75/6 Yikes, that really throws you right into it. The start caught me off guard the first time There's also this part later on where the arrows start on the right when I don't expect them to, which is a bit confusing, but overall, this is pretty awesome!

Everything Else: 4/4 Hello! Project, the full array of extras, detailed readme, how can I refuse?

9.75/10 Yeah I kind of saw this coming. Now to try and FC it

BLOW ME AWAY

Steps: 3.5/6 Needs more freeze arrows and 16ths at nearly 200 bpm! I mean less. >_> Really, I think this is much more deserving of a 10 than Action Radius is thanks to those 16ths. The early few aren't as bad but the crossover ones are pretty ridiculous. Also, these were very double steppy for me, particularly early on, although to a certain point that's just forced by the freeze arrows anyway. Also, 8ths during a freeze arrow at this speed are not cool, even if (or especially if!) they're on the same arrow. There are also a few short freezes.

Everything Else: 3/4 The graphics could be better, I think. The text is a bit small and distorted and it's kind of fuzzy on the background. Props for the slowdown effect during the song, tho, that was well done.

6.5/10 Needs a little more work, particularly in knowing what is and isn't reasonable at nearly 200 bpm. Crossover 16th stream really isn't, especially for a 9.

DISCO DOG

Steps: 5.5/6 Pretty good, although I couldn't work out what a lot of the 16ths were going to. Personally I think this would be better served by being easier, but that's mostly a matter of taste I guess. Still, like I said, some of the 16th usage did confuse me because while I could hear some in the song, the steps seemed to use more than I could hear. Eh, no big deal. I liked the use of steps and then later jumps on the same arrow, that fit well with the music.

Everything Else: 3/4 Haha, I got a kick out of this background because the background photo is the exact same one I used for my first simfile XD Replace the cartoon nun with some guy in a dog suit and change the text and you have this BG. So yeah, the song choice was good, graphics were okay.

edit: I noticed on going back to play the files again that you wrote "Aseletics" in the artist field of the SM file... eh, no big deal really.

8.5/10 A pretty good file, as I'd expect.

DOMINO

Steps: 5/6 OK, well this part is supposed to just be about steps, so I am not going to comment on your BPM stunt quite yet. The steps were pretty standard, I thought - I didn't really like how you used 16ths at a quiet bit at the start and then barely any after that, tho. It just doesn't keep the difficulty consistent with the rest of the song or how it sounds, basically. And note that I am not saying you should have used more 16ths later on, the 8ths were fine thanks >_> Anyway, I can't work out if this file has any double stepping or if it's just spins, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Didn't like the 8ths during a freeze, tho.

Everything Else: 1/4 Yeah, so the first time I played I assumed the max BPM was just due to speeding up on a freeze or something and that you didn't know how to use the #DISPLAYBPM tag, so I played on 3x. Whoops! Um... In short, don't do that. There was no reason to double the BPM in that part and even if there was you shouldn't have done it because while it's generally not too hard to read a half BPM section at a standard speed mod, reading a double BPM section is practically impossible without reducing your speed mod and having to read the REST of the file at a lower-than-optimal speed. That's the problem with BPM doubling and why you should never do it ever barring certain extremely special circumstances. The song choice, graphics and videos were all good but I am heavily penalising your score here because I hate BPM doubling so much.

6/10 Please don't ever double the BPM like that again.

DRAGOSTEA DIN TEI

Steps: 5.5/6 Heh, 20 perfects AAA on a sightread... If anything however I think these were *too* easy. I feel like the steps had too many gaps in them, especially early on which mostly just served to harm the flow a bit. I think there were a few doublesteps too, but at this speed I didn't mind as much.

Everything Else: 2.5/4 Okay graphics, and while this song works pretty well in DDR, that's what everyone else thinks too :P It's a little overplayed by this point, I think, and you could have come up with something more original IMO.

8/10 Decent enough steps I guess, but I'm kind of sick of hearing this song now >_>

DREAM OF YOU

Steps: 6/6 Now here is how you step eurobeat! 16ths during the main hook, 8th runs and 4th jumps elsewhere. No double steps that I could see, no flow problems, awesome steps all round!

Everything Else: 4/4 Good choice of song, good graphics, lyrics file, decent readme, it's all here.

10/10 This also fails to surprise me :P

EMOTICONS

Steps: 5.75/6 Wow, two great Eurobeat files in a row! I thought the split up crossovers felt a little awkward at times (although I think I've been guilty of the same in the past, heh), but there are no major problems with this. Nice work!

Everything Else: 3.75/4 Good song choice (one of the better Hinoi Team songs I've heard, probably because that Korikki guy is nowhere near it), good graphics, but it lacked in extras (no lyric file, video or doubles steps) - if it had one of those I'd give it the full 4. But still quite a nice file!

9.5/10 Another quality Eurobeat entry.

GENO'S WOODS

Steps: 4/6 Not too bad. I liked the start in particular, then it sort of alternated between freezes that were too slow for my liking and 16th streams that were too long for my liking. The stream in the middle didn't feel very imaginative since you just repeated the same sequence over and over a few times and it was a bit too right-facing as well. The step placement also felt a bit awkward near the end. But it was decent.

Everything Else: 3/4 Nice graphics with the watercolour painting effect and excellent font usage. The song brings back memories of TM4 for me, but I don't really think it's suited to DDR. Calming, but not much of a beat or variation to it really.

7/10 Fairly good steps somewhat hampered by repetition and song choice.

GO BERZERK

Steps: 5/6 I guess I should commend you for not going 16th crazy with these :P I probably would have. There's a few too many jackhammers or whatever they're called in DDR for my liking, one of the stepjumps (the first, I think) is inconsistent in difficulty with the rest because it doesn't share an arrow with the preceding step and a few of the steps feel a little awkward but this is pretty good.

Everything Else: 3.5/4 Decent enough song choice and alright graphics (although they're a bit weird). Song drags on a little long for DDR, especially when it's nearly all stream like that.

8.5/10 A pretty good effort.

GOLDDIGGERS

Steps: 6/6 18 perfects I have no problem with these, good use of stream and 16ths. Well made all round!

Everything Else: 3.75/4 Heh, when I saw the BG I thought "Hm, random wine glass... this reminds me of Want To Do Tonight from TM6" and then I checked the readme and you did that song XD
I think it fits the song pretty well, however, especially with the gold tint and the filter you used. Excellent song choice but again, no extras (e.g. lyrics file)...

9.75/10 You've really improved lately, keep it up!

HIKARI

Man, it's like Wish at 1.5x music. It even does that "foot descends, toes touch water and then foot rises again" thing that Wish did in the video. Anime is getting unoriginal, or something. >_>

Steps: 3.75/6 Unnecessarily full of 16ths, I think. If you must have bursts of 4-5 16ths you should put them in simpler patterns rather than full-on LDUR because otherwise they just don't fit with the rest of the song. It's also either full of double steps or way too heavy on the spins (I suspect both) and just generally feels too difficult and awkward.

Everything Else: 2/4 Graphics are alright, but they're JPGs when the rules state they should be PNGs. Song choice is okay, provided video was nice. However, the anime the song is from should be in your CD title, not in your banner & subtitle. It makes it a bit confusing to work out what the name of the song is meant to be, otherwise.

5.75/10 It feels too much like a novice file all round, with the overuse of 16ths, awkward steps and lack of adherence to standards in terms of the presentation. I'm sure you'll get better, tho.

20K POST SIZE LIMIT

KAGEKIHA

Steps: 5/6 You made me go load up Tsugaru to see if it actually uses 32nds as well so thanks a lot >_> And it does, so I can't complain too much about them here, but they feel kind of pointless because you can just hit them as a jump and get perfects. You wouldn't think you'd be able to copy a DDR song's step style pretty closely and yet be really weird and unconventional, and yet you managed to :P Also, I don't know how PH managed to not double step during this, I'm having a hell of a hard time with that.

Everything Else: 3.75/4 I didn't know lrxevan made music! This is pretty cool, and the graphics are great as well. The artist name is a little tricky to make out but I understand the effect you were going for. Nice videos too, although the one from Horizon looks a little out of place with the rest. That one stop really pisses me off, tho.

8.25/10 I sort of get the feeling this whole file is too complex for my puny brain to handle.

UPDATE! I increased the step score by 0.25 points because PH posted a large and detailed image. Fine, so there's less double stepping than I thought, but I still don't personally enjoy the level of turning you have to do in order to not double step on this chart, hence the score not being higher than that.

LAST REGRETS (XMAS DANCE MIX)

Steps: 5.5/6 Pretty good! A bit heavier on the freezes that I'd like, but they flow pretty well. I especially liked the bit near the end with the jumps. There were a few parts where it looked like you would have wanted to use ITG rolls but since this is the DDR division you just used freezes instead, heh.

Everything Else: 3.25/4 Fairly good graphics and decent song choice. A little light on the extras and readme, tho. Also, steps during the fadeout are probably best avoided.

8.75/10 Pretty solid and fun, if not the best of the best.

LET ME STAY

Steps: 5.5/6 I still think you could have followed the synth a little closer at the start and end, but I liked the placement of the jumps. Just not the long stream towards the end of the intro. The middle was fine, no problems with it, although the step-jumps are pretty hard in the context of a 7. Nonetheless, it's quite good, and I felt the outro worked better than the intro in terms of steps.

Everything Else: 3.75/4 Good song choice, pretty good graphics (as I've said, I like how the text looks) although the BN is practically the same exact image as the BG, heh. Could use a lyrics file or something, tho >_> Also, BGsux.jpg needs that speech bubble! XD

9.25/10 Fun stuff!

ONE HEART

Steps: 5.25/6 These steps walk the line between too karaoke and not, but I think in this case they work pretty well, although I didn't really understand why the song got harder at the quiet bit. I like how you weren't afraid to make this easy, although with some of the long streams (particularly during the aforementioned quiet bit) and forced freeze spins it's debatable as to whether this is really a 6 or more like a 7 (although I admit to also doing the latter in a 6 - SPARK!, specifically)

Everything Else: 3.75/4 This song actually almost works for DDR, since it has a beat to it. Decent graphics too, and lyrics file!

9/10 I like this a lot better than your ITG entry. Well done!

PARASITE WORLD

Steps: 3/6 I liked some of the 16th usage but not other parts - mostly the bit earlier on where it was a paired gallop back and forth that matched the music. The other gallops (that went around the pad) felt a bit arbitrary by comparison. Good jump use, tho. Um, it's a shame you didn't finish the last third or so of your steps, however, so I can only rate what you've done out of 4.

Everything Else: 2/4 I suppose the song choice works well enough, but the graphics are a bit lacking, and much like the guy who made Xepher in OSC4 you need to learn how to compress a video so you can include it as opposed to just saying "download this video from the media shop and drop it in the folder, thanks". Also, it's usually customary to finish your heavy steps >_>

5/10 This probably would've been good if it hadn't been regrettably torpedoed by an acute case of Over Drive Standard Syndrome. But how do you not notice that when it's on heavy?

RADIO STAR

Steps: 6/6 I love these steps - they're simple but they work so well. The right amount of stream, good use of 16th arrows to match the melody, fun crossovers, etc.

Everything Else: 3.75/4 Great song choice, nice graphics, and lyric file! It seems to be missing a line or two, tho...

9.75/10 This has to be the best first file ever.

RAGNAROK ONLINE TEMP IT UP

Steps: 4.75/6 It might be the song's fault, but these were pretty repetitive and uninteresting for me. Technically sound, but on my first play I was wondering just how much longer it was until it was over. Also, I think freeze arrows were a little overused, but at least you didn't try and put 8ths during them or something.

Everything Else: 2.75/4 Decent graphics except your song name as specified in the SM doesn't seem to match the song name in the graphics. The song isn't that great for DDR I don't think as it's so repetitive, and your cut was a little long especially given that.

7.5/10 I wouldn't say there are any major problems with the steps, but at the same time I wouldn't really play this again.

ROCK STEADY

Steps: 6/6 There's really nothing wrong with this that I can see. The steps are placed well and match obvious elements in the music, and you were nicely light on the 8th stream.

Everything Else: 3.5/4 Good graphics, but no extras really and the speedup on that last arrow broke my full combo > Given the song and challenge chart I should ask why you didn't switch this with A New Ray of Light but I'm pretty sure you considered this already and everyone else is going to ask the same thing and I'll just save my breath. :P

9.5/10 Another file that basically meets expectations.

SEVEN

So is this meant to be like GO with 7 beats per measure...? Guess not

Steps: 3/6 I wasn't a huge fan of these. The 8th stream at the start seems pretty arbitrarily placed, like Lisek you spin too much, and there's a lot of doublesteps in general. There are a lot of parts which feel copy/pasted due to having the same step pattern over and over and it doesn't do a lot for facing in one direction too much either. And the difficulty was wildly inconsistent - you go from really slow steps following the piano to the OMGWTF GIANT 16TH RUN in the middle and then back to really slow steps again. It's like the file can't decide whether it wants to be a 8, 6 or 10 and it averages out to 9 somehow. Also, that one 16th double-hit on one arrow early on felt sloppy.

Graphics: 2.25/4 The graphics were okay, but not really that pleasing to the eye and I didn't really get what they had to do with anything. The song, despite being by DM Ashura, was a bit subdued and repetitive for me, and the readme was only the absolute bare minimum of content.

5.25/10 This one just feels very amateurish, although the song choice might not help. Don't hesitate to try again after you've had some more experience, tho.

SHAKE IT DOWN

Yeah, this is my file, so no review. :P

THE GREAT BLUE SKY AND THE STARS ABOVE

Steps: 3.5/6 It's well synced, but it's not very fun. There's too much empty space (including time spent holding freezes) that contrasts too heavily with your faster steps, like the 16th gallops and runs. Unless you fill in that space with some more steps, it just kills any flow your simfile might have had. I thought it improved a bit towards the end with the 8th streams but those were a bit double-steppy, too. Try and be a bit more creative next time and fill in the gaps a bit better.

Graphics: 1.75/4 The graphics were basically just images with MS Paint text added, and this song just does not make for good DDR in any way, considering it's just background music. It's also a bit lacking in extras or any kind of detail in the readme.

5.25/10 You can follow the music exactly, but that's not what making good DDR steps is about. Following the music is secondary to making steps that flow well and are fun to play on feet (as opposed to keyboard files that can follow the music exactly because that's what people expect, although I think this song is also too simplistic for a good KB file). Your song choice certainly did you no favours, but you need to work on making interesting steps as well.

THESE EMOTIONS

Steps: 3.25/6 Aurgh, freeze arrow abuse! Way too many freeze arrows here and most of them seem to go to nothing at all, not to mention more short freezes than anything else I've seen so far in this bracket. The steps follow the music too closely to the point of awkwardness and weren't really a lot of fun to play.

Everything Else: 2.25/4 Not the best choice of song in my opinion, but better than some of the others in this bracket. Banner was alright, but the BG looked like you just took the album cover and resized it (possibly adding "These Emotions", I'm not sure, it's not really prominent enough either way). Pretty minimal readme, but at least it includes a lyrics file, I guess. However, it is entirely too long and you should have ended at the L+R freeze instead of having steps during the fadeout.

5.5/10 Another file that suffers from trying to follow the music too closely. I'd say to play more of the official or high-ranking files and see how they handle things instead.

TORI NO UTA

Steps: 5.5/6 Pretty good! I would've started them about a measure later and I wasn't sure what a few of the 16ths were going to, but overall these used jumps and freezes well and had well thought out placement of stream and some fun crossovers. I thought the end was fine too, not too excessive or anything. Well made all round.

Everything Else: 4/4 Nice graphics, and the song choice is technically from a Bemani artist That was a cool trick with the video, I thought for a moment you hadn't included one. Great transition from BG to video, too.

9.5/10 This is how to do an anime file.

UNDER THE SEA

Haha, was there something in particular they made this for? XD

Steps: 5/6 Not bad. There were a few gaps which I thought were overly large due to following the music perhaps a little too closely (which also led to maybe a few too many yellow arrows) but overall, it was pretty fun.

Everything Else: 3.5/4 Great graphics and fun song choice. It could use a lyrics file or more detailed readme, tho.

8.5/10 This is a pretty good entry, I had fun with it.

YOU RAISE ME UP

Steps: 5.5/6 I wasn't that fond of some of the freezes or freeze jumps, but on the whole this was good. 16 perfects makes it the new sync winner or something, I dunno. :P

Everything Else: 3.75/4 Good song choice, great graphics, but it's relatively light on extras (like a lyrics file).

9.25/10 There's nothing much wrong with this entry, although it's not one of my absolute favourites in the bracket. Feels pretty authentic in any case.

All the reviews will be based off of Heavy and Challenge steps. I will also review from Z to A. I will bring back a another Extra point if you have a video or a Half of a point if you add lyrics.

YOU RAISE ME UP

Heavy 5/6

I love these steps alot. They were very creative and well synced also. My only problem is the jump freezes (especially the one at the very beginning).

Extra 4/4

Pretty good banner and background. Also, I this is a really good song choice.

Overall 9/10

Really good song for me to start public reviewing. This could possibly be one of my top picks.

UNDER THE SEA

Hard 4/6

These steps are pretty good. It followed the vocals a little too much at certain parts and the last couple of steps could have used a little more variety.

Extra 3.5/4

And I thought the A-teens only remade ABBA songs. I don't really like the song that much. The banner and background are pretty good though.

Overall 7/10

Pretty good simfile. Had some fun steps but it's not one of my favorites.

TORI NO UTA

Heavy 5.5/6

This had some really fun steps. What I didn't like the 16th notes in the middle of the song which you could have left out.

Extra 4/4

I love the song choice. The banner was good and the background was allright. I also like the video.

Overall 9.5/10

This is one of my favorite simfiles so far in bracket 1. I will have lots playing this sim over and over again.

THESE EMOTIONS

Heavy 3/6

These was an excessive amount of freezes in the song. And theres was a little bit of double stepping also. I think this should have been a 8 instead of a 7 footer.

Extra 3/4

The banner was good. The background looks like a cover from the cd. The song choice was good but it was a tad long.

Overall 6/10

This simfile is alright. it could have been a little better

THE GREAT BLUE SKY AND THE STARS ABOVE

Heavy 2.5/6

The steps were starting off really good with some good gallops and then it starts going downhill with some repetitive steps, double stepping, and and an off sync 8th note stream in the middle of the song.

Extra 1.5/4

The background and banner were a little bit on the ugly side, but they do fit the song I guess. The song choice is really good (who doesn't like the music from Kirby?) but the instant cut off at the end was pretty badly made.

Overall 4/10

A dissapointing simfile. It could have been better with a few improvements stepwise and making the banner and background a bit nicer.

SHAKE IT DOWN

Heavy 5.5/6

Really good steps. It had a small part of double stepping but it was really good.

Extra 4/4

The background and banner were pretty good and I liked the fact that you added lyrics to your simfile.

Overall 9.5/10

Another one of my favorites in the bracket. I will be playing this alot also.

SEVEN

Heavy 4/6

I liked the steps in this simfile a little bit. But there were some things you shouldn't have done in the simfile. There was quite a bit of double stepping and the 16th note streams (which also had double stepping) didn't work out very well.

Extra 4/4

Good song choice and a nice looking Background and banner. Nothing I see wrong here.

Overall 8/10

Not a bad simfile, but it could have been a little better.

Rock Steady

Heavy 3/3

These steps are good. I don't really see anything wrong.

Challenge 1.5/3

The steps are too hard than DDR standards. The steps themselves were quite fun and had some good steps. These should have been placed in Edit instead of Challenge mode.

Extra 3.5/4

The background and banner is quite nice. The song is a bit on the annoying side though. I do love the bpm changes at the beginning and the end of the song.

Overall 8/10

Really good steps, challenge mode ruined it for you. I still enjoy this simfile and I will play it quite a bit.

RAGNAROK ONLINE TEMP IT UP

Hard 3/6

I didn't really enjoy these steps alot. There was some double stepping freezes and a bunch of other normal double stepping.

Extra 3.5/4

Good background and banner, but the song felt like it dragged on for far too long. I didn't really like the song that much either.

Overall 6.5/10

It is better than some of the other simfiles. But I don't like this simfile alot.

RADIO STAR

Heavy 6/6

My favorite steps so far in the bracket. It was simple, but it was just so much fun.
I see nothing wrong with this simfile.

Extra 4/4

Good background and banner. Good song choice. The whole thing feels like a DDR song.

Overall 10/10

My favorite simfile in the bracket so far.

PARASITE WORLD

Heavy 1.5/6

The steps were a little fun. There were a few off beat steps but it could have been worse. I have to take off 3 points for not finishing your file though.

Extra 1/4

The background and banner were really ugly. You could have made the song a little louder also.

Overall 2.5/10

This could have been a 5.5 (maybe even higher if you finished your steps to this.) I won't be playing this again.

ONE HEART

Heavy 4/6

The steps were kind of fun. You could have done much more in the chorus of the song instead of the turning freezes. During the slow guitar part, the 8th note stream that you put didn't really go well since that was the 2nd hardest part of the song.

Extra 4/4

Nice background and banner. The song choice is a good one as well. Nothing wrong here.

Overall 8/10

A pretty solid simfile. I really enjoy this simfile alot.

LET ME STAY

Heavy 5.5/6

I loved these step. Nothing wrong that I can see except for some step jumping that insn't really apropriate for a 7 footer.

Extra 4/4

Good background and banner. I like the song choice also.

Overall 9.5/10

Another one of my favorite simfiles in the bracket.

KAGEHIKA

Heavy 3/6

The steps kind of remind me of Tsugaru, but it's not as good as Tsugaru. I didn't really like the steps, which had some 32nd notes which could have been changed to 16th notes or jumps and some double stepping.

Extra 4/4

Nicely made background and banner. I like the videos you put in the file.

Overall 7/10

This could have been alot worse, but it's not really a simfile I'll be playing very often.

HIKARI

Heavy 2.5/6

I don't like these steps. There was an excesive amount of double stepping. The 16th notes at certain parts weren't really apropriate either.

Extra 4/4

The background and banner were okay. The fact that you added a video saved you from getting a 3 out of 4.

Overall 6.5/10

This feels more like one of those generic anime simfiles you find in the database of bemanistyle than a song fit for DDR.

GOLDDIGGERS

Heavy 6/6

Nothing wrong here.

Extra 3/4

Whats with the wine glass in the background and banner? It doesn't fit the song. I don't really like the song choice either.

Overall 9/10

A great simfile with flawless steps as well.

GO BERSERK

Heavy 1.5/3

There steps were allright. The parts with the 8th note jump step jump part seems quite painful for a song with this fast a bpm and long.

Challenge 1.5/3

This is about the same as the heavy mode steps, except they're harder (obviously). These steps are pretty average, but these are the best 10 footer steps I have played in OSC in my opinion.

Extra 2/4

The background and banner are okay. I hate the song choice though.

Overall 5/10

Definitely not one of my favorite simfiles in the DDR division.

GENO'S WOODS

Heavy 2.5/6

First of all, this should be a 9 footer. The steps were really repetitive and had some freeze parts that could have been substituted for more unique steps.

Extra 4/4

Background and banner look quite nice. I love this song choice also, but I would have preferred the original Super Mario RPG version instead.

Overall 6.5/10

Well, it could have been worse. Not one of my favorite sims either.

EMOTICONS

Heavy 5.5/6

I enjoyed these steps alot. The only problem was the double stepping near the end of the first chorus.

Extra 4/4

Really Nice Artwork in the background and banner. Pretty good song choice also.

Overall 9.5/10

This is probably another one of my favorite simfiles in the bracket.

DREAM OF YOU

Heavy 5.5/6

Really good steps. The 16th notes near the end were a bit harsh though.

Extra 4/4

Nothing wrong here. Good song choice, banner, and background.

Overall 9.5/10

Another one of my favorites in the bracket.

DRAGOSTEA DIN TEI

Heavy 3.5/6

The steps were kind of repetitive. It was follwing the vocals most of the time and following the beat of the music rather awkwardly.

Extra 2/4

The banner is awesome. The background is okay though. This is a pretty unoriginal song choice (what with so many people already making steps to this song). One thing that bothers me is that you have an edit chart with no steps. You could have at least deleted that if you weren't going to put anything in it.

Overall 5.5/10

This isn't the worst Dragostea Din Tei simfile I have played, but it's definitely not the best one I've played.

DOMINO

Heavy 5/6

The steps were good in certain spots. There was a bit of double stepping throughout the song though. I did like the six 16th notes you used at the end of the song which fit very well.

Extra 2.5/4

The background and banner were quite nice. The song choice was good. But the BPM changes were unnecessary throughout the song. The videos you edited were pretty good. This would have been a 2 out of 4 if it weren't for the video editing.

Overall 7.5/10

These steps would have turned out pretty good if you only got rid of the BPM gimmick.

DISCO DOG

Heavy 6/6

These are my favorite steps in heavy. Good Job!

Extra 4/4

Good song choice. I love the background and the banner was pretty good.

Overall 10/10

Forget Radio Star, this is my favorite simfile in the bracket.

BLOW ME AWAY

Heavy 1/6

I don't like these steps at all. There was some unnecessary jumps and freezes throughout the song. The 16th notes were harsh in certain parts. Pretty repetitive and boring.

Extra 0/4

What does Halo have to do with Breaking Benjamin? The banner and background were ugly and inapproprite. The song choice was pretty bad also.

Overall 1/10

My least favorite simfile in the bracket without a doubt.

AI~N! DANCE NO UTA

Heavy 6/6

Nothing wrong here either. Another one of favorites.

Extra 4/4

Perfect presentation. The video is rather strange (in a funny way).

Overall 10/10

It's hard to decide between this simfile and Disco Dog which is my favorite simfile. Hmmmm, I guess I'll say both are my favorite for now.
EDIT: I made up my mind now. I'll choose this as my favorite since you had a video.

ACTION RADIUS

Heavy 2/6

I don't like these steps very much. It felt like a really repetitive version of Night In Motion. The double freezes at the end were unnecessary and really boring and there was alot of double stepping.

Extra .5/4

The background was ugly and I disliked the song choice. The only reason your getting a .5 is because the banner was okay.

Overall 2.5/10

I've always wondered why 10 footers sucked these past few OSC's, I hope in the future there will be a good 10 footer. Oh well, maybe next OSC perhaps?

24

Heavy 4/6

The steps were allright, but the one thing that bothered me the most was the use of 32nd notes where there could have been 16th notes, even 24th notes (maybe)

Extra 4/4

The background and banner is really good. The song choice is really good also.

Overall 8/10

A pretty good simfile. It could have been alot better.

My Top 3

1st. Ai~n Dance No Uta

2nd. Disco Dog

3rd. Radio Star

24-
Steps: Not bad, but a little boring. Could've been made a bit harder, with a few more steps. 4/6
Other: I like the art a lot. 4/4
Overall: 8/10 Not too bad.

Action Radius-
Steps: Not a 10. At all. This is barely a 9 except for one ITG-style jump. That and there's way too much dead space. I'll give it credit for the fact that it's accurately DDR-like. 2/6
Other: Too plain, too low quality. 2/4
Overall: 4/10 Sorry.

Ai~n! Dance no Uta-
Steps: These are fucking awesome. End of story. 6/6
Other: Only complaint was that the video was too distracting. But not distracting enough to make me give this any less than 4/4
Overall: 10/10 One of the best non-official pad simfiles ever. Seriously.

Blow Me Away-
Steps: Biggest problem here is the 16ths. They don't follow the music properly every time and many of them force the player to crossover, which is way too fast for a song that is otherwise pretty easy. The other problem I had was that during the choruses the majority of the steps were just 8th notes while there was definitely some other rhythm going on. Other than that it was alright. 3/6
Other: Halo? Huh? Not bad quality though. Song doesn't really fit DDR, but whatever. 3/4
Overall: 6/10 Steps could use some work.

Disco Dog-
Steps: Only thing I didn't like was that during the middle interlude some of the sixteenths didn't follow the music correctly. Other than that it was pretty damn fun. 5/6
Other: HAHAHA LOL SONG/ART. I like it. 4/4
Overall: 9/10 Not bad!

Domino-
Steps: VERY DDR-like. Especially when there's this big run of 16ths and the music and it's just straight 8ths that go to nothing. The steps themselves weren't bad, but that's not where I'm subtracting most of points on this... 4/6
Other: Random speed-ups and slow-downs? Worst idea ever. Seriously. The art wasn't bad, but that salvages one point for you, because those really hurt your file. 1/4
Overall: 5/10 You fucked up with the speed changes that go to nothing. It's not bad otherwise though.

Dragostea Din Tei-
Steps: SO BORING. I was falling asleep. Everything did follow the music exactly, but man, with a song this slow and sparse, nothing came out very interesting. 3/6
Other: The cut is way too short, forcing just barely 200 steps. The art is fine, if inconsistent. 2/4
Overall: 5/10 eh.

Dream of You-
Steps: Only part I didn't like was some of the syncopation at the end being off. Very good otherwise. 5/6
Other: No complaints. 4/4
Overall: 9/10 Nice work!

Emoticons-
Steps: AAAA'd this on a sightread. Normally I hate the way most DDR songs try to follow complex synth without following them accurately, but I think you did a pretty good job here. The rest was great. 6/6
Other: Very good artwork. I'd give extra points if I could. Song is cute. ^^ 4/4
Overall: 10/10 Very, very good. I love it!

Geno's Woods-
Steps: A little rhythmically jumpy for my tastes. Pretty good though. 4.5/6
Other: Could've used a livelier remix of this song (I know they're out there) to better suit the style. Background was a little wonky but not bad. 3/4
Overall: 7.5/10 Ahh nostalgia...

Go Berzerk-
Steps: Heavy- Not bad, if repetetive. 2.5/3
Challenge- I don't see what this accomplished that heavy hadn't already. That, and it was a bit too repetetive. 1.5/3
Other: I liked the art. Hated the song, but I assume that's not your fault. 4/4
Overall: 8/10 Challenge seemed unnecessary, the rest was great.

Golddiggers-
Steps: Didn't quite hear the first bit of syncopation in the music. The rest was fine, if a little dry. 4/6
Other: Art was fine if slightly low quality. 3/4
Overall: 7/10 I think it should be pointed out that this song is by Günther AND the Sunshine Girls, not just Günther. That should be fixed before this appears in the pack.

Hikari-
Steps: Didn't like the doublestepping, or rather, I didn't like that the doublestepping was inconsistent. In fact, this entire stepfile is inconsistent. Sometimes it's like it's a 9, sometimes it feels like a 7. Didn't hear where all the 16ths went. 2.5/6
Other: Art was also really inconsistent. BN does not fit with anything at all. BG is bright and happy, BG video is predominantly dark and scary. 2/4
Overall: 4.5/10 Inconsistent.

Kagehika-
Steps: 32nds are incorrect. Aside from that it was fine. 4/6
Other: So out of sync. Not only is there a gap error, but the BPM is just incorrect. While I loved the art, I have to dock points because proper syncing is much much more important. 1/4
Overall: 5/10 Bad syncing, everything else was fine.

Last Regrets-
Steps: There's a gallop that should be in the main melody. I didn't like the stream of 8ths that go to nothing after a long vocal freeze. Ok otherwise I guess. 3/6
Other: I saw that background in a hentai game. A bad hentai game. 3/4
Overall: 6/10 Mediocre

Let Me Stay-
Steps: This song is boring, and I guess you realized that because you just threw in 8th notes that don't follow the main synths to make it more interesting. It backfired, it's still pretty boring. 2/6
Other: Song is fucking obnoxious as hell, but again that's not your fault. BG was kind of boring and obvious. 2/4
Overall: 4/10 Not good.

One Heart-
Steps: Didn't like the "spins" or doublestepping, because they were freezes. Very boring. 2.5/6
Other: Cute background. 4/4
Overall: 6.5/10 Average, good art.

Parasite World-
Steps: AAAA'd these on a sightread too. Then again they're unfinished. Some of the gallops don't fit. Sucks to be you. 0/6
Other: Out of sync. Art was pretty boring too. 0/4
Overall: 0/10 I really wanted to grade something 0/10. Thanks for giving me that opportunity.

Radio Star-
Steps: Another sightread AAAA. I didn't like the verse, other than that it was good. 4/6
Other: Nice art, very DDR-like. Cut was a bit short. 3/4
Overall: 7/10

Temp it Up-
Steps: Kind of boring except for some of the sixteenths which gave the steps character. Hated the doublestepping, especially in the beginning. 3/6
Other: Art was fine. 4/4
Overall: 7/10

Rock Steady-
Steps: Heavy- Good. 3/3
Challenge- An 11? For DDR? That's kind of unorthodox. *plays* Plenty of crap here. Steps during the arbitrary speedup? Bullshit! Sixteenths that don't always go to anything? Bullshit! Inconsistency? Bullshit! If I were judging this as an ITG stepfile, which it basically is, being an 11 and all, I would not like it. It starts of very 11-like then becomes almost exactly like the heavy chart, a 9. The sixteenths are way too fast for DDR, don't need to be there. This is bad. 0/3
Other: Good art. 4/4
Overall: 7/10 Oni sucked, rest was great.

7-
Steps: Not very good. Hated all the doublestepping, especially during that long run (more on that later). Didn't like the inconsistency of the jumps during the piano part (sometimes on the drums, sometimes on arbitrary piano notes). The worst part was the long run, which does not fit with the rest of the stepchart, has doublestepping, and is way too hard for DDR, or for this to be a 9. Pretty bad. 1/6
Other: Nice art. 4/4
Overall: 5/10 Horrible steps.

Shake it Down-
Steps: Crossovers were great. Doublesteps weren't. 3/6
Other: BG was far too plain, could've used more work. 3/4
Overall: 6/10 I <3 good-cool, but not this file.

The Great Blue Sky-
Steps: Same pattern over and over again. No, not the same rhythm, I'm talking about the identical LDURLUDR patterns over and over again. No good. Last set of 12ths should've been 16ths. Fine otherwise. 3/6
Other: BG and BN are inconsistent. Out of sync towards the end. 1.5/4
Overall: 4.5/10 Eh.

These Emotions ( )-
Steps: Not very remarkable. Didn't always follow the music. Steps during the fade out. 2/6
Other: BG and BN are not alike at all. 3/4
Overall: 5/10

Tori no Uta-
Steps: Didn't always follow the music, but pretty ok otherwise. 5/6
Other: BG/BN did not match, but the video was great. No artist name in the bg as far as I could tell. LOVED the song, don't like anime much, but what is this from? 3/4
Overall: 8/10 Not bad! Better than like, the last 10. <_<

Under the Sea-
Steps: Frick awesome. Even the one doublestep encouraged alternating. Very good. 6/6
Other: BG was kind of plain but really not bad. 3.5/4
Overall: 9.5/10 Art could've used more work, because the rest was great.

You Raise Me Up-
Steps: With the exception of one part, the most DDR-like entry here. I have to give props for that. Not completely remarkable otherwise. 4.5/6
Other: Nice stuff. 4/4
Overall: 8.5/10 Not bad.

I am going to enter the DDR bracket next time, I was really really pleased with the competition here.

Stop asking about my reviews, this is getting tedious.

Rating system is 6 points for steps, 2 for graphics, 2 for technical stuff like BPM and the like. Tilt is not used most of the time, and what it is, is quite simple: say that I gave you a poor score on graphics, which brought your score down. Graphics aren't terribly important so I make up for it in the tilt score for your overall. If you have problems with that, you can just pretend the tilt score is part of the steps score. Enjoy!

EDIT: Changed sachny's score to accurately reflect it's 9/10 rating.

This is technically sound, if a little boring. There's nothing here that really grabs you. I would

say my biggest problem with this file is that it's not fun, which is, believe it or not, important.

Sorry, boss.

You definitely get points or originality, here. It's a 10, it's very DDR-like (in the sense that it

makes its own rhythm instead of following every sound made), but like 24, it just doesn't grab me.

Adding another arrow every time a new part in the song comes up doesn't make for a fun simfile, even if

it is a 10. It feels like there are just a million arrows compressed into a small space, just so you

can have your 10 rating.

Ai~n! Dance no Uta
Steps: 5.5/6
Graphics: 1/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: +.5
Overall: 9/10

The steps here are very, very well-done, as are most files done by sanchy. There are a few problems

here, however; I feel you went a little overboard in general, but mostly at the end, where the file

suddenly makes a huge jump in difficulty. This isn't IIDX.

In any event, this is one of the better files in bracket 1. Nice work. I gave you some tilt because

the graphics aren't so hot, but graphics aren't that important and I figured you deserved the point

back... I think that makes sense.

Blow Me Away
Steps: 1/6
Graphics 0/2
Tech: 1/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 2/10

This chart is double-steppy, repetetive, and unoriginal. The BPM is incorrect (Blow me Away is NOT 198

BPM). The sixteenth-notes were excessive and unncessary. Graphics have two properties: they can

either add to a great file, or subtract from a bad one. In this case, it is definitely the latter.

Please rethink your approach to steps in the future! You know how mechanics work, obviously, but there

are many things you could have done to make this simfile work. The BPM gimmick was done correctly and

works pretty well, by the way.

Disco Dog
Steps: 2.5/6
Graphics .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 5/10

Aside from your background image being the best thing I've ever seen (but not really in a way that gets

you a high score -- it looks like an OWNED! image), this simfile is not notable. It comes from yet

another simfile author who makes primarily keyboard steps, and it shows. A lot of the transitions,

rhtyhms, and patterns prevailant in Disco Dog would not work in a dance-game enviornment. Playing this

on a pad felt uncomfortable and unnatural, which even the hardest 10s in DDR manage not to do.

Domino
Steps: 3.5/6
Graphics: 1/2
Tech: 1.5/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 6/10

Domino has ADD in the worst way. If the BPM ain't broke, don't fix'it, captain.

BPM gimmicks don't make files good. A lot of beginning simfile authors use BPM gimmicks as a way to

make their files interesting and as a way to grab attention, but I'm telling you now, it doesn't work

unless the file is also notable and interesting in other ways, which Domino isn't. The intro should

have been several seconds shorter, and the synth should have started sooner. Please continue to make

steps in the future, as you have potential, but this file just doesn't make the cut.

Dragostea Din Tei
Steps: 3/6
Graphics: .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 5.5/10

Once a song has been stepped enough times, it's time to retire it. Dragostea Din Tei reached the

breaking point about six months ago, and the only way I would retract that statement is if someone

actually stepped it well, which they haven't yet. (You'll notice there's no space for song selection in

my reviews anywhere, so calm down.)

The steps are too simple, even for a seven-step. I apprecaite the spirit of this file, but it's

boring. You probably play ITG a lot. The vocals are followed ridiculously closely, and the jumps

included are added arbitrarily and without much thought.

Dream of You
Steps: .5/6
Graphics: 1/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 3.5/10

There is no phrasing present in this file. The file has a syndrome I have not named yet (and I hope is

not named; we have enough cute words flying around in the simfile community as-is) where it just kind

of keeps going until it ends. There are no quarter beats that are not jumps. There are no eighth-runs

that aren't bizarre turns. The stepchart is aesthetically displeasing. The synth section is nearly

nonsensical, the song is cut badly, and the graphics make poor use of beveling. There are no notable

sections, because each section is almost the same. the_ditz can do better.

Emoticons
Steps: 4/6
Graphics: 1.5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: +.5
Overall: 8/10

There is a lot to say about Emoticons. It's cute, cheery, and infectious, and I'm not just talking

about the song. There is a lot of style in this file, and it completely overshadows some of the

blemishes the file has, which include some moderately annoying double-stepping and inappropriate freeze

arrows. But it's just so damn fun, anyway.

Geno's Woods
Steps: 1/6
Graphics: 1/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: -.5
Overall: 3.5/10

Geno's Woods is similar to Disco Dog in that it seems to come from someone who does keyboard steps more

than DDR steps. It actually started out kind of okay, and then went down hill about the time the

massive freeze-jumps and sixteenth runs started. This is not an 8 step. As a matter of fact, it would

be nearly impossible to rate on the DDR scale.

This is also a poor choice for a song to step in DDR, and no, it's not because I dislike the song.

Orkybash is actually an old friend of mine, and he's quite musically gifted. This just isn't the song

for this type of medium. I've taken -.5 in tilt for that.

Go Berzerk
Steps: 2.5/6
Graphics: .5/2
Tech: 1.5/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 4.5/10

Bevels ruin good text.

In terms of steps, this starts out okay. At first my only concern was the use of the short

jackhammers, but they were used sparsely enough where it could have been the primary justification for

the song's 9 rating, but then something interesting happens when I see in simfiles a lot. We'll call

it "flailing."

Flailing occurs when a simfile author runs out of ideas and realizes he still has to somehow make the

next half of the song work, and then realizes that the second half of the song is exactly like the

first half.

Golddiggers
Steps: 3/6
Graphics: 1.5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 6.5/10

I don't hate Golddiggers, as it is somewhat obvious that the author was trying to create a good,

wholesome, classic DDR atmosphere here. I'm not sure if he/she succeeded or not. Some of the turns

present here are way too much. A wise man once said, "There is a time and place for everything, and

it's called Paranoia."

Hikari (Inukami)
Steps: 0/6
Graphics: 0/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 2/10

In order for this file to succeed it, it has to rely on a lie; people aren't sick of poorly done anime

files. There is no rhyme or reason to most of the steps here, hold for the almost completely

unnecessary 16th notes. A large percentage of the time, I was trying to find what I was dancing to,

and I couldn't.

Kagekiha
Steps: 2/6
Graphics: 1.5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 5.5/10

I'm willing to bet that this file was created on a very old computer, because I had to resync it myself

before I could start playing it. There will be no tech score penalty because gaps are relative, but

it's just something I should note to ranatalus: try to make your files on newer computers, because

people are going to be asshats about your gap and they shouldn't be.

What they perhaps SHOULD be asshats about, however, is the completely random nature of this chart. I

am, in case you guys don't know, the song's original author, and even I can't hear what is being

followed most of the time. The song, as I wrote it, relies on the strength of the beat and on the

weaknesses of the offbeats -- which are what they stepchart desperately tries to draw strength from.

This is incompatible in a pretty large way. Couple that with the large amount of

spinning/doublestepping and rather unremarkable implementation of turns, and this file just can't work.

Last Regrets
Steps: 3.5/6
Graphics .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 6/10

This was a pleasant surprise. It's not often you play a file with a generic anime girl in the banner

that doesn't depress and disappoint you, so take that for what you will.

This file has fun, easy-going steps that aren't bad, and aren't great either. This is a good example

of a file that doesn't do anything amazingly well, and has its (rather serious, even) flaws, but

manages to still be fairly entertaining. A tip: try to avoid large amounts of activity in certain

sections in songs like this one. There is just too much activity in certain places, and some freeze

arrows could use adjustment.

Let Me Stay
Steps: 4.5/6
Graphics: 1.5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 8/10

So even with the high rating I gave this file, I don't like it. Oh, don't get me wrong, it deserves

the score, it just doesn't sit right with me. Step-jumps are a very delicate thing, and you threw them

in without really thinking about why or how many there were going to be in the end. There are several

awkward turns, but what this chart lacks in flow it makes up for in marketability; the look, the feel,

and even the graphics add up to a very professionally marketed simfile that manages to pretty much

destroy my rating system.

One Heart
Steps: 3/6
Graphics: .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 5.5/10

Average. Goes on too long without really making a statement worth listening to, for the time

investment required.

Parasite World

Unfinished, no score. (0/10)

Radio Star
Steps: 6/6
Graphics: 2/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 10/10

When I do reviews for simfiles, rather than looking for ways to add points, I look for ways to remove

them because I feel like it creates a more honest rating than if you build from the ground up.

With Radio Star, I simply can not find a single place to remove points. Radio Star is fantastic. It

is fun, professional, and aesthetically pleasing. There are no outright problems, and Jesterline has

even gone so far as to include multiple CDTitles for those of you who would rather have a "jesterline

originals" cdtitle.

There aren't many simfile artists who are capable of creating an atmosphere that just feels like

it came from a real Dance Dance Revolution title. Jesterline... are you Konami?

Ragnarok Online TeMP It Up
Steps: 1/6
Graphics: .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 3.5/10

Too many freezes, too many crossovers, too much double-stepping. This file isn't very fun.

Rock Steady
Steps: 4/6
Graphics: 1.5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 7.5/10

Rock Steady is what would happen if Max 300 and Drop Out proliferated. It represents a love child too

horrifying to speak of, a genetic experiment, a lamentable plight. The steps are actually pretty good,

but they are repetetive and predictiable, much like its "parents'" steps. The graphics are good, but

look a lot like the graphics from most other jammitch! simfiles. The challenge steps, which aren't

rated, are also higher-rated than is possible in DDR. The author has this to say:

Yes, this is harder than my ITG entry. However, in the words of Ken Kutaragi:
"I believe we made the most beautiful thing in the world. Nobody would criticize a renowned architect's

blueprint that the position of a gate is wrong. It's the same as that."
So there. Neener neener.

I read this as "It's an 11-step. So what, I'm jammitch!" DDR doesn't have 11-footers, and last I

checked, this is a DDR competition.

Make no mistake, however; despite my comments that seem contrary, this is a good simfile. It just

happens to be predictable, conventional, and yet at the same time, doesn't fit the DDR profile.

7
Steps: .5/6
Graphics: .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 3/10

Holi- I mean, 7, suffers from a disease caused by the song it follows. There is nothing worth

following in this song. It is overall, a fairly poor choice as a DDR song. Hol-, I mean 7, which was

written by DM Ashura, is generic trance with a piano in it (big surprise there) and just doesn't have

much rhythmic activity.

It actually does okay, for what little it has to work with.

That is, it WAS doing okay, until that retarded sixteenth run.

Shake It Down
Steps: 5/6
Graphics: 1.5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 8.5/10

This is serious 3rd Mix jutsu, no joke. Xythar, this is probably your best work to date. Please make

more like this. As a side note the, background scripting was pretty bad, IMO. Could have been a

little more varied, but the important stuff was all solid. Nice work.

The Great Blue Sky
Steps: 1/6
Graphics: 0/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 3/10

There is no creativity at all. As such there is very little to actually talk about. Follows the

melody for almost the duration of the song.

These Emotions
Steps: 1.5/6
Graphics: .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 4/10

Pretty generic. Very little rhythmic activity, and what activity there was, was done somewhat

incorrectly; very awkward rhythms, here. The slowdown was awkward and poor. This goes on for far too

long, as well.

Tora No Uta
Steps: 3.5/6
Graphics: .5/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 6/10

Above average, but nothing special. Sixteenths were a bit out of place. Otherwise, it was fine, if

not a bit boring.

Under the Sea
Steps: 3.5/6
Graphics: 1/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 6.5/10

I enjoyed this more than most files in the bracket. It has some rhythmic problems, but it's definitely

one of the better 'complex karaoke' files I've played. It's still pretty uncreative and unimpressive

overall, though. Great source material. Good simfiles don't come from following vocals 90% of the

time, they come from experimenting with rhythms and finding what works best; karaoke is lazy in files

like this!

You Raise Me Up
Steps: 4/6
Graphics: 2/2
Tech: 2/2
Tilt: 0
Overall: 8/10

This is a great file. Too many freeze arrows in my opinion, but you did well with what you had to work

with. Very solid stuff.

back by popular demand it's the reviews you love to love
in reverse order again, heavy only but i guess if you yell at me enough i'll play your standard/challenge steps but if they're just as bad i'll take off more points

you raise me up:
steps: for me, the big dealbreaker was the amount of time i was stepping without a beat, it just doesn't work. -1.5 I also felt that the long freezes were either filler for not knowing what to put down, or simply a natural result of picking the wrong song to step. -1 total: 3.5/6
tilt: i can't really take off points for song choice as it was a fine song, it just effected your steps 4/4
overall: 7.5/10

under the sea:
steps: following the vocals worked really well during the verses, but during the first one and a half choruses it ends up putting way too much dead space in the file -1.5. i also did not enjoy the last part of the last chorus because it was simply too repetitive and too sparse -1. total: 3.5/6
tilt: oh god why would you step a song like this -1 3/4
overall: 6.5/10

tori no uta:
steps: these steps were pretty good, a little bit on the straightforward side aside from the 16ths. -.5 when i played these i ended up having to face the wrong way in order to hit that last note, i'm not sure if that was my own fault, but i usually spin around for the final LR jump of a song so i think it's all right. total: 5.5/6

removed (23:50:24): given your style, yes
removed (23:50:31): you would loathe air
i won't do that, but i will dock you for using the fansubbed op. i'm here to play a song not watch anime i could care less that shoujofan24324 did the timing -.5 total: 3.5/4
overall: 9/10

these emotions:
steps: lots of doublestepping -1. while the song is indeed mellow, it's probably too freeze heavy -1. the slowdown wasn't really needed and made the file drag on for far too long -1. having to step 4th-8th with one foot while the other is holding a freeze is pretty un ddr like -.5 total: 2.5/6
tilt: bland graphics, boring song 2/4
overall: 4.5/10

the great blue sky:
steps: had to wait way too long listening to next to nothing before the steps came -1. the steps basically line up exactly to the music, and in the case of this particular song it makes things sparse, freeze heavy, and boring to play -3. total: 2/6
tilt: graphics were just mspaint text over an image, song choice was poor 1/4
overall: 3/10

shake it down:
steps: this is really good stepwise. there were some parts that felt a bit sparse. -.5 at times i felt like i needed to spin, (i think the pattern is like r-d-l-rest-u-rest-r) but that might have been ordinary world syndrome -.5 5.5/6
tilt: nothing wrong here 4/4
overall: 9.5/10

seven:
steps: i'll start with the doublestepping. there's way too much of it. i suppose it gives the steps a disjointed feel much like the time signature, but holic pulled that off without putting 7 spins in a row right near the beginning of the song -2. the steps are sparse during most of the song, there's a lot of waiting, which contributes to the doublestep confusion -1. then there's the 16th run. ddr doesn't have 16th runs on that scale aside from the maxes. not to mention during one or two of those runs you needed to doublestep a transition -1.5. NITPICK: you had a left followed by a left 1/16 after. that only happens in really slow songs or super max me challenge. -.5 total: 1/6
tilt: graphics weren't great, dmashura clause 2/4
overall: 3/10

rock steady:
steps: i really liked these steps. afronova, drop out, and ps all feel like gimmicks, so there's no song in this bpm range that feels like a decent file. these really work. 6/6
tilt: your challenge steps are a different story entirely and should have been left out of the file. ddr doesn't have 11s, and these steps in particular don't feel like ps or max style steps anyway so i don't want to give you the full points. 3/4
overall: 9/10

ragnarok blah blah:
steps: these suffer from many of the same problems as these emotions. lots of doublestepping -1. the song is too freeze heavy -1. having to step 4th-8th with one foot while the other is on a freeze is not ddr like -.5 total: 3.5/6
tilt: song is extremely boring, graphics aren't great, and my friend was baffled for like 8 hours until i told him to completely clear out his temp directory because whenever he tried to install missionrisk it would launch the ragnarok online installer instead so it's pretty obvious that nothing good can come from ragnarok online 0.5/4

let me stay:
steps: i felt that there wasn't enough consistency or symmetry to these steps. the patterns change at intervals and positions i'm not really comfortable with, and it didn't really make sense why a certain pattern would follow the preceding one. it's difficult to describe what's wrong with the steps other than "they feel weird" but that's pretty much how i feel. 4/6
tilt: i didn't think the graphics were all that special 3/4
overall: 7/10

last regrets:
steps: to me these felt a bit offsync, but no one else mentioned it so it might have been my imagination. the big problem is the quiet part. becuase that breakdown and buildup lacks a lot of stuff to keep the steps going, you resort to using lots of freeze arrows, making the steps not very enjoyable. a lot like you raise me up in that sense so i'll give you a 3.5/6
tilt: j-pop =/= anime clause, tell me in the discussion thread if i'm wrong and i'll give you the point back (edit i was wrong) 4/4
overall: 7.5/10

kagekiha:
steps: okay, so you're trying to step it like tsugaru while still being different. here's the thing. there are way too many doublesteps in this file, tsugaru hardly had any if at all, this would have been a pretty enjoyable song if it weren't for all of these, and at 180bpm they aren't excusable -2. also, there were parts in the song where it was really difficult to figure out what you were following -1. i'd like to point out that tsugaru is also 15bpm lower than this file, so the 32nds might not be as technically relevant. total: 3/6
tilt: nice to use some of tsugaru's videos 4/4
overall: 7/10

hikari:
steps: doublesteps. lots of them. -1.5 the huge problem with these is that frequently you place jumps right after the player has either just recovered from an awkward position or is about to get into one. -1.5 sure you rated it a 9, but when i think 9 with awkward doublesteps, i think of much harder songs in the 170-200bpm range that pretty much suck. the spins at the very beginning also didn't help. -1 total 2/6
tilt: i was wondering what the hell dogs had to do with j-pop and was about to invoke the other dmashura clause but after seeing the video, if anyone knows how to incorporate pawprints, magical girls, and crystals, it's japan. oh wait a fansubbed op 3.5/4

AH THERE YOU ARE HOT CONTENTION ON THE FORUMS STEPS: here's my take. you're known for your twisty steps. max is known for having eurobeat 9s. you tried to combine the two and it basically ended up wrong. my main gripe comes from the second synth section, it doesn't match the first one. flash in the night matches, fantasy matches, you took different patterns and it's confusing -1. note that your max combo is 499 so you're on the hard side of 9 footers. with that kind of combo, all the twistiness in your file just makes the pattern too tireing. fitn and fantasy had really easy sections in the middle to give you time to recover your bar. this doesn't. -.5. don't get me wrong, your steps are technically spot on, but you're making the player do too much. 4.5/6

tilt: you put tons of effort into the videos, including white flashes that go with the music, but honestly the only reason i'd play this song again is so i could laugh when it rockets to 324 bpm for no reason. i guess in some way you managed to make an enjoyable file but it's enjoyable for the wrong reason 0.5/4
overall: 1/10

disco dog:

Light: 1.5/2
It was simple yet right on. Problem with the freezes though at points. They felt like Beginner freezes. It could have been better with a 2 beat freeze followed by two 4th steps. Otherwise, nice.

Standard: 1.5/2
Same problem as above, but again, still right on otherwise.

Heavy: 1/2
Was expecting harder, but it was ok. YET, same problem as before, I could have seen even more chaos there, and some crossovers were iffy, but it was good for a not hard Heavy.

Extra: 3.5/4
Graphics fit and song was synced. It wasn't the best song, but it definitely wasn't the worse choice either.

OVERALL: 7.5/10

Action Radius
Light: 0/2
It starts off like a 7-foot Heavy song. YOU EXPECT NEW PLAYERS TO PASS THIS?

Standard: 0/2
Same pattern, same problem with difficulty, harder than a 6 for sure.

Heavy: 0.5/2
Too chaotic one minute, followed by a long break. No. Also, the jumping run was just pointless.

Extra: 1/4
Graphics work. Preview music is too short and the song choice was not good. There were parts that deserved to be stepped and you didn't. Also, your attempt to "water down" Heavy for Light and Standard failed big time.

OVERALL: 1.5/10

Ai~n! Dance no Uta
Light: 1/2
It was good, but I was disappointed that the steps were only on drums during the "Ai~n!" parts. 8ths would have been appropriate here, but none were there. It was good, though.

Standard: 1.5/2
It was right on. You see what you did here that would have worked with Light? That's my only problem. That was Light-worthy and it was here.

Heavy: 2/2
SPOT ON! It was a 7/8 difficulty at times with a mix of a 9/10 at times too. It was good.

Extra: 3.5/4
The video was great, although it was an obstacle at first. ITS HARD NOT TO WATCH! Anyway, the preview is WAY too long. It went from the first chorus to a verse and towards the end of the second chorus. It shouldn't be that long.

OVERALL: 8/10

Disco Dog
Light: 2/2
You made me smile with this.

Standard: 2/2
AGAIN, it was perfect.

Heavy: 1.5/2
Complicated for a 9, but it was solid. I would think it should be a 10, though, which is where the subtraction goes to. It was good, but maybe too hard for a 9.

Extra: 3.5/4
Other than the fact that the song didn't start until the first arrow appeared instead of a few seconds playing beforehand, it was great.

OVERALL: 9/10

The rest will come soon.

Version used: Stepmania 3.9
Theme: Foonmix+

24
Chart: 4.5/6
Extras: 2.5/4
Commentary: Nice stepfile. Plus points for the lyrics. The graphics also gave me a feel to the song. The steps should have followed more than the drumbeats though.
Verdict: 7

Action Radius
Chart: 4/6
Extras: 1.5/4
Commentary: Overrated. This should have been a 9 IMO. A little exciting at the start then it gets boring as it progresses. The rhythm seems to repeat over and over then at the end part, there goes the tons of jumps that make it seem difficult. the graphics are quite bland :/
Verdict: 5.5/6

B-DASH ~Hanagoe Ver.~ ...uhhh I mean Ai~n! Dance no Uta

lol wtf
Chart: 5/6
Extras: 4/4 WOOOOOOOOO~!
Commentary: I was at the mood like in my avatar after playing Action Radius when the guy that suddenly pop out scared the shit out of me and woke me up! O_o One thing that I should ask, how old are those girls?

...eh... anyway... It's a great chart. The downside is the overrepetitiveness of the chorus "AI~N, AI~N, etc" with the same patterns again. You should have made variations. But still, you got full tilt from me
Verdict: 9

Blow me Away
Chart: 3.5/6
Extras: 1.5/3
Commentary:

Yeah. Steps are quite boring. It's also rich in doublestepping. The BPM change is good though. In my preference, it should have fit if you used 99 BPM instead.
Verdict: 5

Disco Dog (BSOD Inductive)
Chart: 5.5/6
Extras: 3.7/4
Commentary: I had 4 consecutive BSOD's while playing this file.
Great chart! I liked how this chart flowed. I was expecting a video though. Still, Great work!
Verdict: 9.2

Domino
Chart: 3.5/6
Extras: 3/4
Commentary: Good chart but ehhhh? Those BPM changes doesn't fit at all O.o;;
The cut of the song is pretty long for a DDR Chart. Nice videos and BG Changes though.
Verdict: 6.5

Dragostea Din Tei (MAIYAHI~!)
Chart: 2.5/6
Extras: 1.3/4
Commentary: At the first sight of Gary Brolsma, I can't wait to play this file. I was wrong. Overrated. This is a 5-Footer. I'm kinda bored with the steps. It's also offsync by 20ms. I'm disappointed.
Verdict: 3.8

Dream of You
Chart: 6/6
Extras: 3.9/4
Commentary: Well, what would you expect from the_ditz! Excellent file as always. I think those doublestepping are intentional too right? ...where are the videos?
Verdict: 9.9

Emoticons
Chart: 6/6
Extras: 3.5/4
Commentary: Cute.
Flawless steps. Cute BG/Banner. No violent reactions
Verdict: 9.5

Geno's Words
Chart: 5/6
Extras: 3/4
Commentary: A little repetitive but still a good chart. No violent reactions too.
Verdict: 8

Go Berzerk
Chart: 4.5/6
Extras: 2.5/4
Commentary: A little long and the audio needs more bass. Decent steps. seems kinda repetitive though.
Verdict: 7

Golddiggers
Chart: 4.7/6
Extras: 3/6
Commentary: OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH You Touch my Harb... oops wrong song. The song is ahead by 20ms. Steps fit the song well. Despite of the lack of a video, it's still a sure keeper.
at least I didn't see this one:

Verdict: 7.7

Hikari
Chart: 4.3/6
Extras: 2.5/4
Commentary: Anime wallpaper (Despite that it is still from the correct series)+Text still shows lack of creativity but still, that is still a good file. Steps are fine too except for some spins that may lead to doublestepping and the bad samplestart. "Hikari" in the banner should have been emphasized.
Verdict: 6.8

Kagekiha
Chart: 4.4/6
Extras: 2.8/4
Commentary: Ahead by 60ms. Good song choice and the BG fits in well (except for some overused elements) I'm taking down points for being guilty of heavy doublestepping. plus points for the use of 32nds.
Verdict: 7.2

Last Regrets (Xmas Dance Mix) (For OSC5)
Chart: 4/6
Extras: 2/4
Commentary: Loli strikes back. From what I heard from the lyrics, in my opinion, this doesn't fit the song a bit. (but you can say that the guy is saying goodbye to the girl... I suggest something winterish with a girl leaving his significant other,... ehh

anyway, about the steps. Late by 15ms. seems to fit the song but I feel like there's something missing.
Verdict: 6

Let me Stay
Chart: 4.5/6
Extras: 2/4 -_-
Commentary: Decent steps. The BG/Banner showing the artists seem to be generic though.
Verdict: 6.5

One Heart
Chart: 4.5/6
Extras: 2.5/4
Commentary: sweet. Simple steps, yet it fits the song. The BG/Banner seems to be rushed :/
Verdict: 8

RADIO STAR
Chart: 4.8/6
Extras: 3.5/4
Commentary: Cool graphics. Steps are great too. No other reactions
Verdict: 8.3

Parasite World
Chart: 0/6
Extras: 1/4
Commentary: Ahead by 40ms. The BG is ok but the font doesn't seem to fit. I liked the streams but then there are the gallops and th<unexpected end of message>

Heavy: These steps were fun. Double stepping wasn’t bad in this one – followed the guitar well. However, it seems like there were more interesting things you could’ve done with the rhythms at points. 1.5/2
Standard: I liked a lot of the rhythms towards the end – especially when it followed the singer and drums. There were some static parts such as the middle freeze section I didn’t like so much. 1.5/2
Light: Steps were ok, but it dragged on. The freezes were repetitive. Also, my friends who would play light would have a tough time with the <v and ^> jumps. 1/2
Tilt: I liked the graphics with the numbers. I like the song choice, but it did present a challenge to make interesting steps which you did in parts, but not all. I am a fan of Jem and was glad there was a Jem song in here. Thanks. 3.5/4
Total: 7/10

Action Radius
Heavy: I liked the rhythm pattern with the drums and jumping on the accent, but it got out of control with the double stepping and jumping. It was not fun at all. The steps during the buildup from the quiet part were a bit weird as well. The void in the middle killed the momentum. That isolated step in the middle felt like I was sending a torpedo out into space via the dance pad somehow. Not that it is a bad thing, it’s just…. aw never mind. .5/2
Standard: This seemed like heavy with a few arrows removed and a strange freeze pattern at the end. Same issues though. .5/2
Light: I liked this a lot better but it still suffered from the same issues as above. 1/2
Tilt: Can’t complain about graphics. I don’t know if better steps would help this song out so much. Parts of it are fun but most of it isn’t really suited for DDR due to the large void in the middle and large portions without anything going on. 1.5/4
Total: 3.5/10

Ai~n! Dance no Uta
Heavy: I liked almost all of it. I see why you would double step the notes that are exactly the same notes in a row, but at this speed it isn’t fun. And there were a lot. 1/2
Standard: I really liked this one. The streams and jumps went with the song well. The trick is not to get freaked out by the scary white make-up guy jumping all over the place. 2/2
Light: I can see why you said these were hard to make. Regardless they were fun for being easy. Well done. 2/2
Tilt: Nice video and lyrics. That must have taken a long time to put together. I don’t really “get” the song – it sounds like they are trying to annoy you. It’s like a song you would sing in the back of the car simply to get on people’s nerves. I’ll try singing what the scary white make-up guy sings in the beginning sometime and see how quickly I get punched in the face. 3.5/4
Total: 8.5/10

Blow Me Away
Heavy: I loved the freeze arrow section at the beginning. In fact, all the freezes were a lot of fun. I don’t understand why people didn’t like them. To me they flowed well. However, it lost me in pretty much everything else though. I just don’t like stomping around on the same arrows in a row that fast. The rapid section towards the end didn’t make much sense. It also repeated a lot. 1/2
Standard: Steps were better but it did repeat a lot again. 1/2
Light: Same. 1/2
Tilt: I liked BPM change. Graphics surprised me. Didn’t expect to see that background at all. I can’t stand this type of music but I’m trying hard not to be biased! 2/4
Total: 5/10

Disco Dog
Heavy: I liked the fast rhythms in here as well as the jumps. I wish it wasn’t so constant though. The double steps didn’t kill it like other files but they weren’t that fun. 1/2
Standard: These were a lot of fun. The jumps and rhythm went with the music well. 2/2
Light: Well done again. 2/2 (as well as beginner too)
Tilt: At first I was surprised someone would go near a song that has appeared on lists for the most annoying songs ever. But it isn’t anything near the Baha Men version so it is ok. I just couldn’t get the image out of my head that it is a song that would play over the stadium sound system at a Cleveland Browns football game in the year 2080 when all the players have been replaced by robots. Does that mean I’m crazy? Graphics: How in the world do you judge a picture like that??? Overall file was fun though. Aaaand I must say Chloe is the coolest name in the world. Let me know when you meet this Chloe. 3/4
Total: 8/10

Domino
Heavy: Once I get past the BPM changes I really like the steps. Well, except for the super ultra mind-bending light-speed part. The steps seem random there. Double steps fit the song and aren’t overdone. Goes with the music well. 1/2
Standard: Steps were ok here. Seems like there could be more fun to be had here. 1.5/2
Light: These steps were ok as well. Same. 1.5/2 (side note – I would not put a jump in the light-speed part for beginner).
Tilt: The speed changes in the video added a nice touch and the videos overall were spectacularly well done. I really like the song choice too - it suited DDR well. However, I did not like the BPM changes for the steps! They felt random and there didn’t seem to be any reason in the music to do them. Now the slower BPM I can see you did because the drums stop for a few seconds there but it still is forced. Did you accidentally drink 24 Mountain Dews when making the middle part? 2/4
Total: 6/10

Dragostea Din Tei
Heavy: Well there’s nothing really wrong with it I suppose. It gets by. It is quite similar to standard though. It really needed more variation. 1/2
Standard: It gets by. It’s like heavy but a little more jumping here and there… a little less stepping now and then… 1.5/2
Light: I know you want to go with easy steps here but this was downright weird. Constant quarter steps regardless of what the music is doing. And sure you had the jumps on the down beat but that’s not what the music does so it just feels random. It was like being in a marching band with hiccups. .5/2
Tilt: Extra points for NOT including the video. I liked the background and I really laughed at the cartoon guy – the expression on his face. Overall the file was fine. Just… fine. 3/4
Total: 6/10

Dream of You
Heavy: Rhythms were a lot of fun and varied well throughout the song. I noticed more of the music when playing these steps – you’ve got a good ear. 2/2
Standard: Hey! That was a lot of fun! Well thought out steps and jumps and followed the music beautifully! 2/2
Light: Wow. These steps were also a lot of fun. Specifically I liked how you did the freeze arrows with quarter steps with the vocals. Jumps were a lot of fun and the quarter rhythms were all well done. 2/2
Tilt: Like the song, graphics were great, lyrics. What more can be said? 4/4
Total: 10/10

Emoticons
Heavy: Really liked the rhythms. Everything went to the music well. I got a little tired of it towards the end though. Seemed like the same sort of thing. 1.5/2
Standard: These were a lot of fun. I liked how you mixed in a few vocal accent steps within the beat. That really added a good feel to the steps. 2/2
Light: Well these steps were fine. A lot of freezes. 2/2
Tilt: Graphics were great! Interesting to look at. The background matches the mood of the song well. The song, while a very good song, didn’t lend itself to much variation throughout the entire file. Overall very fun! 3.5/4
Total: 9/10

Geno’s Woods
Heavy: I like how you transition to the dulcimer to break it up. I also liked the beginning, even if it is not very DDR like. However, towards the middle it turns into an exercise in various step patterns. While interesting, I wouldn’t exactly call it fun. 1/2
Standard: Similar to heavy and similar in the exercise way. It had the feel of a walking goomba. 1/2
Light: I like the steps that go with the triangle, but I wish you wouldn’t have made it feel like rocking from one side to the other like that. I’m glad you kept in the dulcimer freezes. However, the long string of uninterrupted quarters weren’t fun. 1/2
Tilt: That background looks really cool. Now if someone had a real painted version of that I’d hang it on MY wall. I love Mario RPG and I love the song. Thanks for doing it. 3/4
Total 6/10

Go Beserk
Heavy: Well the some parts were fun for a while but then you get all this fast double stepping and some during freezes that are not fun at all. And some of the repetition got old as well. .5/2
Standard: Some of it was a lot of fun. I liked the offbeat half steps and the rhythms you chose to follow in the music. It got repetitive and boring though. 1/2
Light: I liked the quarter note pattern towards the middle with the occasional jump thrown in there. That was a lot of fun. The freezes at the beginning were almost meaningless they were so short. Otherwise it was ok. 1/2
Tilt: Actually this song has good sound quality – if it were played from my watch. Seriously though, if I read correctly that is related to why you never caught it. Laptops aren’t exactly known to be the pinnacle of internal speaker quality. Sound quality aside, the song got old really fast. 1/4
Total 3.5/10

Golddiggers
Heavy: The 16ths add a lot of flair to the steps. They were a lot of fun. However, it seemed awkward when it followed the guy vocal because he doesn’t sing/talk exactly to the rhythm of the steps. 1.5/2
Standard: Well there’s certainly nothing wrong here. Lots of fun! 2/2
Light: Well done making simple steps with good rhythm. This was a lot better because when it followed the vocals it was basically just the accents of them so it didn’t matter if the vocals were off the beat that much. 2/2
Tilt: I liked the graphics. Matched the idea of a gold digger quite well. I don’t know why but I do wish it was a little longer. It didn’t seem like there was meat to the file. 3/4
Total: 8.5/10

Hikari
Heavy: Some of the runs are well placed. Follows the music well, but I don’t think that’s a strength here because it follows so closely the steps seem awkward. Especialy the faster ones. 1/2
Standard: Beginning was fun with the jumps and freezes with the music. When it gets to the long up/down and the down/up parts reversed and repeated it becomes more of a chore. 1/2
Light: Jumps and quarters were well done. It was varied enough to keep interest up most of the time. The freeze section got boring and some of the repeated corner steps weren’t that great. 1.5/2
Tilt: The video adds a lot to the music and I’m glad you included it because the music would have a hard time standing up on its own. I don’t think it is the literal quality of the file but rather just how well the song was made that detracts from the sound of it. Overall everything was ok. 2.5/4
Total: 6/10

Kagekiha
Heavy: I really liked when it transitioned into the square sounding lead and subtly back out into the main beat. And there was that one part you accented the tambourine – or something like it... When it came to multiple stepping on the same arrow and some of the runs you lost me. Once I got used to the file the stop wasn’t that annoying but I sure had no idea what was going on the first time around. 1/2
Standard: I really liked the rhythms. Went to the song well. 2/2
Light: The steps hitting all the accents of the drumsticking part were really cool and then using the double steps to initiate the phrasing of the melody added a lot to what would be regular quarters. However, the repeating part at the end made me lose interest. 1.5/2
Tilt: Love the video for this song. The song is a lot of fun as well. I had to fix the gap though. I was so confused the first time around I thought I had some sort of new brain delay disease. It seems like you should know what you’re doing with the gap though because everything else was so well done… 3/4
Total: 7.5/10

Last Regrets
Heavy: The beginning and the end were really fun and followed the musical pattern well. The middle lost it though because all you had to go by was a constant bell jingle and an occasional vocal syncopation. But otherwise it was well done. 1.5/2
Standard: At first I thought you were trying to make it easy by ignoring most of the rhythm in the beginning but then you chose to add it during a freeze arrow right after it ended. There was more you could have done to make interesting steps during the beginning and ending part. It also seemed strange to have a drum roll type sequence exactly one measure before the real drum roll, which was simply a long freeze. The jumps seemed arbitrary at times when compared to what the music is doing. I’m being picky though. 1/2
Light: I liked the jumps at the beginning highlighting the last note of the organ type sound. I liked the freeze arrow holds at the climax of the song. 2/2
Tilt: I really liked the background graphic. I would have enjoyed more in the readme. The song could have used more complexity in the middle but what are ya gonna do? 2.5/4
Total: 7/10

Let Me Stay
Heavy: I liked the very end rhythm and the short part where you follow the vocal off the beat. It seems like these steps would be fun to people if this song was one of their favorites but separate from that there wasn’t much there. It seemed like there was a struggle to make this more complex somehow. A lot of the runs didn’t seem to belong to anything besides the constant bass. 1/2
Standard: When I was playing heavy I had a feeling these steps would be a lot better. Did you do these first? These seem like the heart of the file and capture the song nicely. 2/2
Light: This song suits light steps well and you took advantage of it. Vocals on most of the quarters and eighths added at all the right times. Jumps added at all the right times as well. 2/2
Tilt: I didn’t care for the background… seemed rather dull. Ironic he’s asking to stay because it sure looks like they aren’t going anywhere. More like vegging watching the game. I liked the song, I just wish there was more to it. 2.5/4
Total: 7.5/10

One Heart
Heavy: I did enjoy those freeze spins even thought I was off because I didn’t know the song. I think you made this as about complex as a slow song can get for what you are working with. The runs following an acoustic guitar seemed strange to me, but what else are you going to do there? I was laughing at a picture in my head of my other friends playing this song. They stomp pretty hard and I can just picture this “one” *WHAM* “heart” *WHAM*… *WHAM* WHAM*…*WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM* … There’s just something about Celine Dion and stomping in place that seems hilariously odd. I have a soft pad and don’t stomp so it was ok. 1.5/2
Standard: It follows the vocals and that’s good because they have a good rhythm to them. Jumps were well placed and the steps were fun. 2/2
Light: I like how you had all up/down or left/right for the syncopated rhythm parts. For newer players that takes the focus off what arrows to press and more on getting the correct rhythm. Some things repeated a little too much though. Maybe it was from song length I’m not sure. 1.5/2
Tilt: The background and banner look good. I know you are getting a lot of criticism from doing Celine Dion but honestly, outside this little niche of people here this file would probably get the most play if people had to choose. I have dozens of beginner friends that like to come over and play Stepmania and I know they would play this song and like it because the steps are so well done. This is going into my regular group of songs right now. 3/4
Total: 8/10

Parasite World
Heavy: The gallop type steps were fun in the beginning. Most of the rhythms were a lot of fun. The gallops went a bit too much though. And of course the second half of the steps would have been nice. .25/2
Standard: Liked the drums in the beginning and following the guitar later. Sometimes it felt like you were just filling in the void. 1/2
Light: The jumps were fun. Was one of those double jumps too early? At times the quarters seemed to follow the vocals but not really. It was strange. Otherwise they were fun steps. 1.5/2
Tilt: Minus the strange screaming I like the song choice. I don’t like that background at all. It is distracting and not very polished. It looks like a firecracker that had several budget cuts. 2/4
Total: 4.75/10

Radio Star
Heavy: Well polished! The syncopation in the music was a lot of fun. The first few times. Then it got repetitive. It mostly reflects what the song is doing, though. It is much of the same through the whole thing. It seemed like there should be more there… 1.5/2
Standard: These were more fun… the jumps were fun on the off beats as well as the mini runs to the vocals. Again, it got repetitive though. 1.5/2
Light: Quarter grouping was good – much better than how most just have straight quarters all the way through. All the jumps were awkward though. It didn’t match any climaxes in the music – it was just part of a step pattern that seemed to be thrown in to create variety. Triple stepping to “radio” and nothing else around was also strange. 1.5/2
Tilt: Cool… now how often do you get to dance to a radioactive orange slice? Your banner should be more polished though. Otherwise I like the general theme going on there. I really like the song, but it is lacking complexity for well rounded steps throughout all the difficulties. 3/4
Total: 7.5/10

Ragnarok Online
Heavy: Some jumps were fun and some streams fun, but most were not. The fast double steps into jumps and the ones forced by freezes killed. It also seemed to just stream for no apparent reason. .5/2
Standard: It was fun following the guitar like that. You could have mixed it up a bit by following something else. 1.5/2
Light: Jumps were fun – went with the music well. There were a lot of sections without much going on than just stepping quarters with no apparent reason or pattern going on. 1/2
Tilt: That background is confusing. Really confusing. Grinding guitars and pounding drums don’t mix well with such cute images. Song was ok – fun for steps I suppose. 2/4
Total: 5/10

Rock Steady
Heavy: Whoa! Now THAT was fun! Everything flowed really well and the bpm tricks were awesome! Liked the parts with the tire squealing sounds as well. There were a few rhythms that continued in the beginning past where the music stopped playing those rhythms. They eventually came back later. 2/2
Standard: Liked the rhythms here too. Followed the music well. 2/2
Light: Well they were good. However, at first I thought you were trying to keep it easy by sticking to only quarter beats, but then you had the harder jumps and a few freeze technicalities. If you aren’t trying to keep it easy, it could have used a bit more syncopation or off beat steps to make it a little more interesting. Too many sections of straight stepping. 1.5/2
Tilt: Awesome song. Graphics fit the song perfectly. Could have used lyrics though. (j/k) 4/4
Total: 9.5/10

Steps: While I usually don’t really like slow songs, you somehow made this simfile work. Unfortunately though, the steps got sort of repetitive and there wasn’t anything truly fun in it. The 32nd gallops are better than slow galloping (with a 16th instead), but they don’t make the song any better. (4/6)
EE: I don’t really care for the song that much, and the graphics are just okay, although I do like your background’s concept. (2.5/4)
Overall Score: 6.5/10

Action Radius

Steps: This song was rated a 10 (though to me it feels more like a 9), but to me for a bad reason. Forcing players to jump in lots of random places isn’t fun, friend. (2.5/6)
EE: The song overall was pretty neat, although it felt like it would fit in better with the ITG bracket instead. I was not impressed with the graphics, which were bland and looked like they came from DDR OSC 2. (2/4)
Overall Score: 4.5/10

Ai~n! Dance no Uta

Steps: I enjoyed the way the chaos followed the song in a very fun manner. The ‘8th gallops’ from the choruses were also fun, but you could’ve used different patterns for that part to make it less repetitive. Still great overall, though. (5/6)
EE: Easily the Have You Never Been Mellow of the DDR bracket, this song is ever stupider than that song with the video and all, but this time I actually find it to be pretty fun. However, I must admit that its cheesiness factor went too over the edge and that there would most certainly be people who’d loathe this song if it were on an official mix. The banner looked very nice and perfectly complimented the video. (3/4)
Overall Score: 8/10

Blow Me Away

Steps: Basically an amateurish attempt at making a hardcore simfile. I found these steps to be overdone with freeze arrows and that its bpm should’ve been halved from what you had it. I also disliked the 16th drills and small 8th streams that led into a jump going the other way from where your feet would be at the time. (1.5/6)
EE: Horrible song choice. You’ll need to understand that simply digging some rock song from a CD that most people own and stepping it just won’t take you very far. Instead, I recommend you search far and wide for a great song with a dancier feel that truly sounds like a great idea for DDR. The graphics are not good, as they’re just made of a googled Halo picture, but there are better than what people have been saying so far. (1.5/4)
Overall Score: 3/10

Disco Dog

Steps: Overall, this is a very original and fun stepchart, but it is flawed. It would’ve worked better had you made it easier by following the music exactly during the parts where you instead threw in a bunch of 16th bursts. (4.5/6)
EE: The background was very cool and absolutely hilarious, but I was disappointed by the banner’s quality. The song choice was very clever, but 74 seconds just isn’t long enough to really work. (2.5/4)
Overall Score: 7/10

Domino

Steps: These steps are okay, but they’re not horribly original. Also disliked the chaos early on and especially the speed changes (at first it should’ve been changed to 162, not 324; the second one is pointless). (3/6)
EE: Loved the song banner and background, as well as the fabulous background videos. (4/4)
Overall Score: 7/10

Dragostea Din Tei

Steps: While not downright horrible, these steps are boring and don’t show your potential as a step designer. It’s also way too easy for a 7; it should be an easy 6, only because of some decently long streams and lots of steps on the offbeat. Sorry, but I can’t believe the same person who made the awesome Jump simfile also made this. (2.5/6)
EE: The song is pretty good for DDR, but now it feels outdated, especially since nDDRo already made a superior stepfile for the same song. The graphics were pretty marginal. The fat guy behind the microphone and the airplane in the banner make no sense whatsoever, and the background is just a generic modified picture of O-Zone. I also disliked the text format. Also bugged because it has two empty Edit stepcharts. (1.5/4)
Overall Score: 4/10

Dream Of You

Steps: Nice use of turning and jumps in this stepchart. Not really anything bad about it, except for a few parts that didn’t follow the music as they should’ve such as right before the first set of chaos, where the steps ignore the overstated drumbeats. (5.5/6)
EE: Brilliant graphics; you must be someone originally part of the nDDRo crew. The song also worked well. (4/4)
Overall Score: 9.5/10

Emoticons

Steps: Nicely done overall. Only complaints are that during the part before the chorus, there are a couple of instances where the player might twist his/her body in the wrong direction (found in measures 15 and 17), as well as the fact that I would’ve liked it had you been more creative with the synth melody and followed it more loyally. (5/6)
EE: Really couldn’t be any better at all. The song choice is absolutely flawless - J-Pop and Eurobeat, two of the most common genres in DDR! I also adored the concept with the high-quality graphics by having lots of emoticons arranged and formatted in a very clever fashion. (4/4, plus 1 for being so amazingly great in this category)
Overall Score: 10/10

Geno’s Woods

Steps: Follows the song perfectly. Not the most refined stepchart ever, but it compliments the song the right way. Should’ve been rated a 9 though. It’s like having lots of 8ths at 200 bpm, only much harder to read on 1x. (4.5/6)
EE: Mmmm, this harkens back to Beware The Forest Mushrooms from Tournamix 1, which is another version of this same song that I prefer, though it sounds more outdated. Anyway, nice job with the graphics overall, but the song bored me. (2.5/4)
Overall Score: 7/10

Go Berserk

Steps: Pretty much the Boogie Down of the first DDR Bracket, with mainly lots of 8th streams and lots of jumps, but you somehow made it work on Heavy. I didn’t like the Challenge steps as much, as they twist and throw the player into lots of random places. (4/6)
EE: I hated this song so much, partly because it had no bass and thus sounded all wrong. The graphics are clearly just an amateurish attempt at Photoshop (you can tell because it uses the default red border around Go Berserk). (1.5/4)
Overall Score: 5.5/10

Golddiggers

Steps: I guess these steps followed the song decently. They aren’t mind-blowing, but they work pretty well, and I like the gallops thrown in. (5/6)
EE: The graphics looked pretty realistic, but they still work with the song, considering it’s Golddiggers. The song is also decent, but the French guy makes it seem sort of cheesy. (3/4)
Overall Score: 8/10

Hikari

Steps: Nice work with the twisting patterns. The small 16th runs don’t really fit in and made the steps sort of feel like a hastle, though. (4.5/6)
EE: Nice work with the graphics (except the banner, which doesn’t really fit in with the song at all) and the video. The song is just okay for DDR; who doesn’t step anime songs these days? (3/4)
Overall Score: 7.5/10

Kagekiha

Steps: Nice work with all the gallops and overall patterns. Unfortunately for you though, this song is horribly offsync throughout, thus ruining it. It’s probably slower than 180 bpm. (2/6)
EE: The next Tsugaru! I love this song so much, and the video makes it even better. (4/4)
Overall Score: 6/10

Last Regrets (Xmas Dance Mix) (for OSC 5)

Steps: Overall a well-made easy song. The patterns follow the song in a good way, and the 16ths keep it from being boring. It’s actually synced slightly late, but since lots of computers register notes a bit slowly, that’s fine. (5/6)
EE: Yay, yet another anime song, although I actually like the way this one sounds. The graphics are splendid as well. (3.5/4)
Overall Score: 8.5/10

Let Me Stay

Steps: Very boring and bland. Nothing but jumps and 8th streams. Oh, and jump-stepping and step-jumping at the beginning or end of a stream isn’t fun when you do it too much. (2/6)
EE: Didn’t really care for the bland graphics, which are presumably just a modified picture of the band. The song also bored me very much. (1.5/4)
Overall Score: 3.5/10

One Heart

Steps: Since the song is pretty slow, the steps aren’t horribly fun, but they do follow the song very nicely. I also enjoyed the freezes that forced you to spin all the way around the mat. They weren’t too hard to memorize, and they made it a lot more fun. (4/6)
EE: The graphics are pretty mediocre. When I saw the artist was Celine Dion, I was predicting a disaster, but it actually sort of worked well, although it’s still sort of boring in DDR. (2.5/4)
Overall Score: 6.5/10

Parasite World

Steps: It seemed like a pretty neat idea with the turning, streams, and chaos, but it got ruined because its stepchart is incomplete. (2/6)
EE: You probably got this neat-but-quiet song from the Media Shop back on Bemanistyle 6.0. The graphics were marginal because the text format was poor. (2/4)
Overall Score: 4/10

Radio Star

Steps: Very fun overall. The easy chaos follows the song splendidly well, and the rest of the patterns work nicely also. It might’ve been easy enough to be a 6, but it’s great for a simple stepchart. (5.5/6)
EE: The graphics are very well made, and the song is surprisingly catchy on DDR. (3.5/4)
Overall Score: 9/10

Ragnarok Online - TeMP It Up

Steps: Extremely overdone with freeze arrows and frustrating jumps. Just like Blow Me Away, this sounds like its bpm should’ve been halved. (2/6)
EE: The song does not work with DDR at all, and the graphics are pretty much the opposite of what the song feels like. (1/4)
Overall Score: 3/10

Rock Steady

Steps: Mmmm, outside of Dragon Blade, you don’t see very many songs at 240 bpm. The Heavy steps aren’t too hard, but they’re fun and the song’s fast tempo makes it interesting. Also liked it that you included harder Challenge steps to compliment the song’s brisk speed. Sometimes, the steps don’t follow the song perfectly, but it’s still rather fun overall. (5/6)
EE: Very nice graphics. Also a creative song choice because as I stated, there aren’t too many songs that scroll up at 240 bpm. (3.5/4)
Overall Score: 8.5/10

Seven

Steps: Not very fun, with lots bad twisting in the streams and horrible 16th runs that force you into unnecessary turning. (2/6)
EE: The song is pretty boring and lacks the fun feel of dj TAKA’s songs. The graphics are just so-so. (2/4)
Overall Score: 4/10

Shake It Down

Steps: Very refined. The patterns follow the song well, and the only problem I have is that you could’ve been a bit more creative with the steps. (5/6)
EE: Very nice graphics. Simplistic, but perfect for the song, which I find to be catchy and fun to dance to. Astounding video, too. (4/4)
Overall Score: 9/10

The Great Blue Sky ~and the stars above~

Steps: Easily the Stickshifts & Safetybelts of the DDR Bracket. I find the patterns to be surprisingly fun with all the gallops surrounded by lightly dense steps, later getting harder. Also very underrated so far. (4.5/6)
EE: Just like Stickshifts, this song unfortunately also has pretty bad graphics. I’ve never danced to anything like this song before, but as with S&S, it’s actually pretty enjoyable. (2.5/4)
Overall Score: 7/10

These Emotions

Steps: Way too many freezes, some unnecessary or too short. I disliked the jumps at the end of streams, as well as the slowdown. Steps are not fun when you overdo them and include too many gaps. (1.5/6)
EE: The song really bored me out, and the graphics were not very impressive. (2/4)
Overall Score: 3.5/10

Tori No Uta

Steps: The turns in the 8th streams were decent, but I unfortunately didn’t really find the steps to be very original. (3.5/6)
EE: More anime again! Oh well, it’s fine. I loved how the background transitioned into the video. The song might be too dull for the game, though. (3/4)
Overall Score: 6.5/10

Under The Sea (I thought this simfile was DQ’d!)

Steps: The chaos was very original by following the lyrics well, although there should’ve been a bit less turning. The slow bpm also makes it seem less fun, not to mention this could’ve been a 7. Good job, though. (4.5/6)
EE: Marvelous graphics! The song choice was really quite creative, but since it’s so recognizable, I find it to be a flaw that the song sample did not start during the chorus and instead the rap verse. (3.5/4)
Overall Score: 8/10

You Raise Me Up (7” Anthem Mix)

Steps: I thought these steps were okay, but they lacked true originality and got boring quickly. (3/6)
EE: The song choice was pretty much average, but I did like the graphics. (3/4)
Overall Score: 6/10

Continuation of Public Review:

TeMP it Up
Chart: 3.5/6
Extras: 1.5/4
Commentary: To start off, the artist of this song is actually SoundTeMP. You'll notice the titles of this artist's songs mostly have a TeMP in it (TeMP it up, TeMPotatoe, TeMPorsche, etc.) The chart is too rich in doublestepping. The cut is also too long to fit in DDR. You should have been at least creative with the wallpaper/banner. There are a lot of RO graphics lying around. To cut it short, the graphics doesn't fit. Especially with the poring.
Verdict: 5

Rock Steady
Chart: 5.5/6
Extras: 3.5/4
Commentary: Okay! Great chart. Feels kinda repetitive though. The BPM changes are awesome too. Aside from that, no further violent reactions
Verdict: 9

Seven
Chart: 4.7/6
Extras: 2.3/4
Commentary: Interesting. Seven notes in a measure... very interesting indeed. The chart seems confusing since there are 7 in a measure. The 16th note run seems weird though :/
Verdict: 7 (no pun)

Shake it Down
Chart: 5.7/6
Extras: 4/4
Commentary: Cool! This is a great one in fact. The steps are very fit for DDR as well as the graphics. The lyrics and the video added more flair to this file. Very nice work
Verdict: 9.7

The Great Blue Sky and the Stars Above
Chart: 4/6
Extras: 2/4
Commentary: A little ahead by 30ms. The graphics are very bland but Kirby is so cu...ehhh the song ended in a very sudden way that it reminds me of my review of Parasite World. The steps are good but needs more variations. This song is cute and nice but it needs more volume.
Verdict: 6

BENJAMIN DIAMOND
These Emotions
Chart: 4.5/6
Extras: 2.4/4
Commentary:
But still i liked the song. Chart is late by about 15ms but still nice. There's an excess of unnecessary holds. You should have given more emphasis to the title rather than the artist name.
Verdict: 6.9

Tori no Uta
Chart: 4.5/6
Extras: 3.8/4
Commentary: Nice chart. I also liked the way the BG went in transition with the movie. You should have used a fade-in but still, it's nice. I'll forgive the fact that it's another one of those anime openings as a video but I admit that it's nice
Verdict: 8.3

Under the Sea
Chart: 4/6
Extras: 2/4
Commentary: Good song choice but it still somewhat feels bland. It's starting to get boring at the ending. Like most in this bracket, you should have fixed the samplestart.
Verdict: 6

You Raise Me Up (7'' Anthem Mix)
Chart: 5/6
Extras: 3.5/4
Commentary: OHHHH THE DRAMA! Nice steps and awesome graphics. The jumps felt kinda weird though... but still it's defenitely a keeper.
Verdict: 8.5

The big surprise in this song is that, despite the fact that it's not the sort of song you usually hear in DDR, and despite the fact that it's very, very slow, neither of these is an issue. The steps, while fairly average, do have a lot of potential; I particularly liked the Standard chart. The 32nds in Heavy are a big stumbling block, the main detriment to this file. They really should have been 16ths. I'll also mention I found the background to be creative, and the banner to relate well without being a cut and paste.

Action Radius

I hate to say it, but the banner was about the only good thing in this file. Where to begin? The background is white on gray on more gray; bo-ring. The song you chose is not only over 2 minutes long, but only has one pattern of beats; this was definitely your first mistake. The Heavy chart is marked by patterns which are extremely repetitive, a ton of jumps, and a goddamn Dynamite Rave jump (16ths going 1-2-jump). 138 BPM songs should not be 10s, and this one is no exception; the huge gap in the middle really cuts down on the 10ness, if nothing else. Your Light and Standard charts are each rated one foot too low, and Standard was far too similar to Heavy. Also, you copied a section from Light to Standard, replacing it with freezes and forcing spins out of it.

Ai~n! Dance no Uta

Augh. Crazy Japanese music with crazy Japanese videos. Unfortunately, your steps are good enough that the whole thing comes together into one multihued, hyper-kawaii package of fun. The big thing I hated about this file, though, is the "Ai~n" parts. I really got tired of hearing them, and the corresponding steps don't always work out. Granted, I like 4th-8th bounces, but too many spoil the broth, so to speak. They were, however, done well in Standard, done well enough to improve my impression as well as my score. Overall, the steps were a little too karaoke'd, but as a whole, this is quite the good file.

Blow Me Away

An excellent song, good hard rock and a track I happen to like. It's also a good example of why rock doesn't work very well in DDR. Now, you've got a well-placed slowdown, and some good freeze patterns. However, in most of the freeze sections, I ended up missing one or more steps. The 16th runs are neither necessary nor well done. I'd hate to do the double tap runs on a pad. And your LDLU/RDRU runs were a bit too long, they needed some variation. Frankly, I could have stood to see more flat-out 8th runs, the song really suggests them. As for the other steps, Light was far too difficult to be just a 3, as well as being jumpy and overly karaoke'd. Standard was also too hard, far too much like Light, had too many step-jumps, and featured a copied second chorus which isn't even mirrored. In short, they both looked like afterthoughts, made simply for completeness.

Disco Dog

Well, you caught my attention with some classic Beatmania and a background full of LOLs. And while your Light and Standard charts are good, Heavy fell a little flat with a combination of good and bad patterns. Honestly, it would have benefitted from some pauses, taking advantage of those suggested by the song. A lot of the 16th runs don't fit very well; I especially hated the long up-arrow string, despite the fact that I really liked the ending jumps. Go figure. So while my first impression wasn't great, I can see what you were trying to do. Unfortunately, I don't like a lot of older steps, so you lucked out there.

Domino

While the videos were very impressive, they did not blind me to what a train wreck this file turned out to be. I mean, eurobeat really lends itself to DDR songs, this should have been a cinch. A lot of things like, oh, the RANDOM AND UNNECESSARY BPM CHANGES, sort of ruined it, not to mention opening 16ths that follow nothing, a godawfully long song intro, a hand right before the speedup, and Light and Standard charts that would not be danceable by players of either difficulty level. In short, this had promise, and it was thoroughly wasted.

Dragostea Din Teï

Just so's you know, it really should be "Dragostea Din Teï", with umlauts. Alt+0237.

Okay, so I'm one of the few people on the internet who hasn't become completely tired with "TEH NUMA NUMA SONGX0RZ LOL" and I was looking forward to this. I hate to echo what others have already said, but it's oh so boring. I was saddened to find out how slow the song is to begin with; the steps simply don't make for it. I would have liked to see some freezes in the mai-ya-hi parts. Also, I thought Light was too hard for a 3, and you ought to have left out the extra step after "numa numa iei". I'm pretty sure your BPM was incorrect as well, because the sync seems to get off towards the end. And one more thing I docked you for was the inclusion of edit steps which are completely blank.

And why'd you have to put the fat kid in this?

Dream of You

Hands down, this is the best file in the tournament. I was impressed by just about everything: the background is great, Light was awesome and reminded me of R&P, and Heavy made me think of Flash in the Night. This file is just fantastic, and will join the ranks of my collection.
steps- 6/6

Emoticons

This is the second file I'm keeping. The graphics were all very cute and appropriate. The file is lots of fun, though the sync was really off the first time I played it. Light features good use of jumps, and Standard is fairly hard, if fun; Heavy should be an 8 though. Great file.
steps- 5/6

Geno's Woods

While your graphics were very nice, the rest of the file I found sorely lacking. I mean, sure it's a good remake of a good song from an awesome game, but that doesn't help the steps one bit. First off, I knew precisely where just about every single note was going to go. The entire Heavy chart just feels like one big 2-bar pattern, over and over again. Almost every single 16th run was LDUR or RUDL; there was far too much LRLR as well. You have inexplicable easy parts with freezes... and inexplicable hard parts with repetitive 16th runs. Light and Standard suffer from the exact same freeze patterns to the harpsichord hits, as well as the 8th jumps in the latter. To top it all off, this should be a 9; think My Summer Love. Or rather, don't, because that's a good song, and this just isn't.
steps- 0/6

Go Berzerk

Here's another song that suffers from repetitive music. I won't mention the graphics, since you already said you didn't spend any time on them (it shows). Now, Heavy features lots of stream: this is good, I likey, it fits the song. It needs more, though. And not the 1-2-2 combos, which this file features far too many of, either. You've got a jump-step-jump (not a good idea at this speed), and more jump-steps in general than Broken My Heart. Oni is honestly worse, despite the fact that I liked the opening runs better than Heavy, 16ths included. The triple streams fail; the jumps in the streams fail; and the freezes in the middle break the entire file and undermine the 10-foot rating. Light and Standard are more of the same: too hard (Light could be a 6!), too much step-jumping and double-tapping. This could have been way better, and doesn't live up to its potential hardly at all.
steps- 2/6

Golddiggers

Gunther. WHYYYYYYYYYY? The song is just... terrible, ugh. And despite how laid-back it is, you've got a ton of steps; it's far too busy, in other words. I was very confused by the 16ths during the "na-na" part; what are they supposed to be going to? Standard also suffers from odd rhythms in the beginning. Finally, the sync was quite a ways off; in all, this was pretty bad.

Hikari

Cute furry girl in cd-title. <3

You know, that's about the only thing good about this file, other than the inclusion of the video. The steps are really just terrible: they don't fit the song at all, be they jumps or 16ths. Not to mention your song isn't the best quality, and you shouldn't have put the anime title in the subtitle area. I can't even give any constructive advice on this, except to redo the entire thing.

Kagekiha

First, a note: Ranatalus sent this to me a while back, so most of my comments are comparative to what I already know. That having been said...

WTF DID YOU DO TO THE SYNC? D: OMGWTFPMSBBQ! It really killed this official release for me. Seriously, in my version, the gap is -.031, versus the new .025. WTF. D:

All chatter aside, the videos really make this freaking awesome. Awesome, do you hear me? I'm stealing the BGCHANGE tag and putting it on the old one.

Now, to be fair, despite the fact that I like the file, it *is* fairly double-steppy. And I think the 32nds ought to be 16ths. Standard has a few issues (the second set of bounces just didn't work). And I do still like it, because it's very old school, and the parts which aren't double-steppy are lovely and twisty. And the song rocks a ton. I feel weird rating down a file I actually like, but there you have it. Realize, half the downgrading is just from the sync.

Last Regrets

If I had to sum this one up quickly, I would say "obviously fanmade". The song was fairly light on the beat, it wasn't very danceable; the Light and Standard charts both felt like random collections of arrows, and followed very little. As for Heavy, well, it had far too many jumps (it's a soft song, c'mon!), though I did like the jump-jump-jump that heads off the streams at the beginning of the chorus. Your graphics were wonderful, though.

Let Me Stay

The song was a good choice, but the guy's voice is really annoying. Your background is very washed-out looking, and the banner is a squished cut and paste of it. With that out of the way, the steps were mediocre at best. Light was underrated; all the step-jumps in Standard were bad, and the rest was boring. As for Heavy, you were very wise as to where you karaoke'd and where you didn't, and I give you kudos on mostly avoiding it. It was, however, a tad heavy on the jumps.

One Heart

This is ALMOST the least appropriate song for DDR in the bracket. Almost. You made a good decision in not shooting for higher than a 6; if this were faster, I'd say it was a 7, so the foot rating fits perfectly. I called your Light steps "ballsy" in my notes; I don't remember why. It says here that even with all the blue, you can't call it a 4.

Okay, I hold it in no longer. Fuck freeze spins, and fuck Celine Dion. D: You see those two points I took off? Yeah, boom and boom. (Oh, actually, I took off a good bit for the banner being a background rip.)
steps- 5/6

Parasite World

I don't think there's much I can say about this that hasn't already been said. I think you had the BPM wrong, because the sync gets worse as it goes. Even if this hadn't been offsync and incomplete, I wouldn't have liked it. That's all there is to it. Why is your readme a word doc?

Radio Star

It's not bad, it's just boring. That's the gist of everything going into the score here. I will say, Light's 8th notes are very gimmicky and don't fit the rest of the step, and Standard often feels like Light + jumps. You repeated far too many patterns between the three charts, as well. I mean, I'm all for revisiting old steps throughout the life of a song, but there is a limit to its effectiveness. Your graphics are all very nice and clean. DJ Miko FTW.

TeMP it UP

Whoever pointed out the artist thing was entirely correct. Also, you shouldn't have the game title in the song title. Honestly, between this and the Kirby track, it seems like it's just not worth trying to use direct video game music rips in DDR, no matter how good the song is. The background, despite being RO-related, doesn't fit the song at all. The song was also cut too long. As for the steps, there wasn't nearly enough juicy stream; what there was was far too much high-speed double-stepping and jump-freezes. Both your less-than-Heavy steps were underrated, and every freeze section in Standard is freaking crazy. In short, not good.
steps- 3/6

Rock Steady

Let me put it this way: once I delete the Oni chart, I'm keeping this one. It's a good song, karaoke'd to perfection, with lots of wonderful streams (needs more). Oni, on the other hand, is an 11. This is not ITG, I'm sorry. I was far too busy failing to notice if the steps were any good; I surmise from the high-speed 16ths and jump combos they weren't. Light and Standard, surprisingly, were exceedingly well done. I especially liked how Standard gets progressively difficult as the song goes on.
steps- 3/6

Seven

Okay, is it "Seven" or "7"? Because something is mislabeled either way. You know, there's really not anything I can say good about this file. You ruined an SM staple, pure and simple. Light and Standard both remind me of the corresponding Holic steps, but you seriously fouled them up. And the 16th runs? The DRU/DLU 16th triples? Double jumps in the middle of a quiet area? Honestly, what were you thinking? I was bitching about Rock Steady Oni, but seriously, gb2 /ITG/.

Shake It Down

My one real complaint with this is that you somehow found a good-cool song I don't really like. That's it. Everything is brilliant, your steps are 90% original Konami. The videos were great, the Light and Standard were great. One of the best files in the bracket. Oh yeah, except for some sync problems.

The Great Blue Sky and the Stars Above

Despite how much I like the song, it was a really bad choice. You kill this file by giving yourself only one pattern to follow. The graphics are ugly, the intro is long, the song's cut too long, and you put freaking 16th notes in Light. The whole step is just entirely repetitive, enough so that I can't wait for it to end.

These Emotions

THIS is the worst choice of song for bracket. But let's not even start there. Your background? It sucks. You took an album and just stretched it out to the required dimensions. The title isn't even very obvious. The steps? Nothing good about them. Light has 8th notes that drove me bonkers. The first 15 or so measures of Standard seemed to be exactly the same as Light. 16th doubles, slow or not, fail. And in Heavy, there's a nice laundry list: too many freezes, too much double stepping, too many steps within freezes, a slowdown so quiet I can't tell what the steps are going to, and fucking steps after the fadeout. I can say one nice thing to you: you synced this very well. But when the best compliment I can give this file is "you synced it very well", you need to try again.

Tori no Uta

To think, I had this song for years and it was labelled incorrectly the whole time ("Tori no Shi" by I've, from the game Air). But once again, we've got a quieter song without a really strong beat; it's not as bad as some of the others in that vein, but it still fits the genre. The steps were very average, honestly. Light needs more freezes and less jumps. The Heavy patterns are nicely varied, and the one section of gallops was placed well. And honestly, I like the forced spin at the end. The 16ths stood out, though, as fitting with the music but not the rest of the steps. I think "uniformity" has already been bandied about in regards to other files.

Under the Sea

I hate you for making me like this song. The graphics are nice; the song makes me want to hit my head against hard things. Yet the steps are pretty damn fun. Something is wrong here. Light and Standard have a few flaws: the one blue freeze, and the 16th placements. Otherwise, this was pretty darn good.

You Raise Me Up

I was very glad to see this wasn't the Josh Groban version; I think, after all the slow, quiet songs in this bracket, it would have broken me. As it is, Deja Vu featuring Tasmin FTW. Granted, the steps at the start of the song suffer from lack of beat, and are hard to follow. But the rest is very old-school, very clean and nothing fancy. That's really what I liked about this one. It had a few too many jumps, as I think someone else has already said.

Well here's my part of the public review

First off, things that does NOT enter in consideration in rating :

- Choice of the song (UNLESS it is really really bad ! Then it'll be extra points removed !)
- BPM Speed (I don't care if the song is slow or fast...UNLESS same as above)
- Song Fade Out. I know it’s sometimes impossible to end a song without a fade out because the original version of that song has a fadeout...So there will be no blame for a song fadeout...if there is, tell me !

What I give most importance to :

-The steps themselves of course (matching the song, step-friendly, possible at least !)
-The graphics…I mean more specificly the originality of the graphics !
-Song lenght, song cut :P
-Esthetical matters : (Good song preview, good step ratings)

-=> 24 <=-

Total 9/10 ! Really great song (9/10 is really good for me lol). I guess heavy difficulty could have more originality.

Steps 5/6 ... Steps were good, but because of the song itself, somehow repetitive. (I point out the heavy difficulty mostly...the rest was really good !)
Extra 4/4 ... The graphics were nice, the song quality also ! Really Cool !

-=> Action Radius <=-

Total 6/10 Well the song was really cool ! What I didn'T like though is the whole jumping thing..gribbit !

Steps 3/6 The steps were okay ! There's 3 things I want to point out here though. 1) The heavy difficulty is overrated ! Macho gang was 9 and had a lot of annoying jumps (drop out also). 2) I don't like the whole jumping concept in heavy mode. 3) The beginning of the song and those arrows in such a quiet part of the song...ugh !
Extra 3/4 The whole thing is appealing ! There's something itching me that I can't give 4 though ! (something else than being cheap !)

-=> Ai~n! Dance No Uta <=-

Total 10/10 That guy in a white mask would really scare the shit out of kids HAHA ! Good job !

Steps 6/6 Oh yeah ! The steps were really good !
Extra 4/4 An appealing video with all the background and all ! Nothing to complaint about here ! Way to go.

-=> Blow Me Away <=-

Total 5/10 Hmmm…It was ok, but it was not enough for me I guess :S . Better luck next time !

Steps 3/6 Unecessary Freeze Steps, The Light difficutly is DEFINITIVELY a 4 ! ( 3 usually uses basic left right/up down jump and are slower in BPM), the double steps in such a fast song (and the 16th notes) in a fast BPM song is a PAIN ! :P
Extra 2/4 …Did you really even dare take a videogame character background to make it as a DDR song background ? Sorry to sound harsh, but that’s LAME !!! I suggestly recommend you not doing such thing unless the song actually concerns the game in a really obvious way. Graphics could have been worked ! Really !

-=> Disco Dog <=-

Total 8.5/10 Haha ! Really funny song, but slack the streaming will yah ! Nobody could blame you for that !

Steps 5/6 Really nice steps ! BUT you know, it’s not a bad thing when there’s no arrows once in a while… you did stop streaming when there was some freeze arrows, but that’s all. But really, that’s about it.
Extra 3.5/4 HAHAHA ! Nice graphics ! I like the dog on the stage ! I think the background graphics just needed a little finishing touch (make the background as uniform as possible…or something similar). It’s such a small manner though, I didn’t feel like removing a whole point for it ! So only .5 

-=> Domino <=-

Like I said in another part of the forum, I’ll cry in a corner for this one lol (I’m the author).

-=> Dragonstea Din Tei <=-

Total 3/10 … You’ll NEED to improve in every aspect so it can look at least descent !!! This is all I have to say !

Steps 2/6 Steps based only on lyrics ? Realllllyyyy bad thing ! That’s evil ! The steps aren’t original and somewhat too much predictable to be fun (well…when you know the song at least). I was not impressed by the steps at all… But at least it was synced and it was linked to the song in some way. I suggest strongly that you don’t do steps based on the lyrics.
Extra 1/4 That’s a really frustrating part. Your banner is a plane of the videoclip with …that guy that was chanting the song in front of cam ? First that’s not even appealing and he has no link with the original song (except one of a stupid internet joke)…so bad graphics. Not only the graphics were bad, but it also brings it to the point that at first, I didn’t want to try the song because it gave a really horrible impression. At LEAST the background is somewhat okay…

-=> Dream Of You <=-

Total 9/10 Aww ! If it weren’t for the 16th notes in the heavy steps, I think it would be a hit !

Steps 5/6 NICE STEPS ! The thing I didn’t like is in the heavy difficulty…those…sudden throw of 16th arrows ! It gives me the creeps.
Extra 4/4 Graphics were nice, the song was appealing, very DDRish, all cool ! 

-=> Emoticons <=-

Total 10/10 ! I really did see that hard work was put there and steps were excellent ! Great Job !

Steps 6/6 I liked the steps in overall everywhere !
Extra 4/4 …The graphics ! The DDR feeling ! It’s all there !

-=> Geno’s Woods <=-

Total 5/10 Well…You should try to do something more DDR and less KB next time, it was all really going well with the song and the graphics were good, but that’s not DDR !

Steps 4/6 The steps were okay ! But they seem to be too much for performance than fun…But it follows the song and all ! So I didn’t removed too much points
Extra 1/4 That’s where you really go down. This song doesn’t have the feeling of DDR at ALL ! By the song itself (and mostly affected by the steps), it more looks like a very easy KB division song. When the feelings not there, it’s just not there. So it gets a major penality in the extra points.

-=> Go Berzerk <=-

Total 6/10 Meh...I’ve been generous. It’s awfully repetitive and annoying for a song. You get the points majorly because the ''beginner to standard'' difficulty are ok.

Steps 4/6 Steps were...not bad. I would not blame the 3 first difficulty, but heavy and challenge started to annoy me with the 15 arrows streams ! It’s too much.
Extra 2/4 Sooo the graphics were okay and it’s somewhat appealing ! but I removed one point because the song is annoying and AWFULY , but AWFULY repetitive ! Either it’s not a song for DDR, or either there were other parts and you could cut that song elseway so it sounds better.

-=> Golddiggers <=-

Total 9/10 Günther seems to be the E-Rotic next generation here in bemanistyle.com haha. Fun song !

Steps 5/6 Steps were not really made harshly professional, but it’s not a bad thing ! It’s obvious that they are there for fun. So I think the steps are not PERFECT, but nearly they are !
Extra 4/4 All the rest is awesome (I like the golden background )

-=> Hikari <=-

Total 7/10 That smfile HAD POTENTIAL ! really ! I think if you would put some more time into it doing more original steps and actually put more time in that smfile, you could make it worth it a lot ! But for now, it’s has cheap steps.

Steps 4/6 Hmmm... Interesting steps and they are really going with the flow of the song. They seem carelessly thrown in there sometimes though (I point the standard difficulty in the beginning part and the stream/jump in the heavy difficulty). It could have been worked more than that !
Extra 3/4 Graphics are nice ! Everything seems in high quality (especially the video and the song !). Too bad you didn’t bother adjusting the preview song so it would start at the refrain or something.

-=> Kagekiha <=-

Total 7/10 Really nice songs ! Too bad for the steps I don’t understand, the stop and the syncing ! Otherwise, it would have a perfect score from me !

Steps 3/6 Steps were really nice ! There some steps that seem to not belong there though (especially in hard difficulty !...those nasty 32nd notes...some of them could have been easely 16th notes !). I enjoyed the intense streaming after the previous three steps, jumps, and small streams though ! There’s also that nasty stop that somewhat killed the beat of your song. Stops are not easy so I don’t really blame you. A good advice I would give you though, is to reduce the stop length so it could give you more space for your arrows. It would do the same (effing stop !) effect, except you could place a 8th note before the 4th note (next to the stop). I think it would solve the problem . It doesn’t matter if you don’t start at the beginning of a measure. You don’t see the measure or the lines when you play anyway . You should also correct your syncing...In fast songs, it’s okay when it’s a little late, but that’s obviously too early.
Extra 4/4 The video quality seems to be really high ! (My computer lagged all the way lol). Graphics are nice also...The DDR feeling is there, so nothing to complain. Yay for you !

-=> Last Regrets (Xmas Dance Mix) <=-

Total 7/10 Sooo some steps improvement and better syncing would help the case . The song’s sample should be adjusted because the song has an appealing refrain ! (especially the part they sing loudly).

Steps 4/6 The steps are smooth and cool ! I would blame the syncing though which seems to be more ITG than DDR (steps too late ;P ). I would also blame that it could have better steps...but slightly better steps...not much of a problem
Extra 3/4 Ahhh ! That songs remind me of a videoclip I watched of Card Captor Sakura back in my manga maniac days :P. Noooo the song preview is not adjusted ! *evil*. Oh well !

-=> Let Me Stay <=-

Total 9/10 Fun Fun Fun Fun and still Fun ! The kind of song people that likes dance/disco would do over and over again.

Steps 5/6 I wouldn’t say that I think the steps are perfect, but they are really really good ! I like all the fun you included in that song. What I liked also is the way the vocals are used as some kind of backup before the steps follow the song. It really did turn out well. I think you really showed here that steps following lyrics can really be your friend as a part of the song here !
Extra 4/4 The song’s cut and quality and the graphics quality have nothing to blame !

-=> One Heart <=-

Total 8/10 Has potential and is step friendly for beginners at DDR .

Steps 5/6 I think the steps are really friendly... especially for those who are starting with DDR ! So it’s important and appreciated that someone does a song with a low feet rating. I think they are a bit too simplistic though...It could have more potential than that.
Extra 3/4 Unfortunately, I know the original song (lol). So I would remove points because the song starts at the moment you hear a sound. I think you should have kept the introduction... mostly because it would give an idea of the BPM to the one who plays and this ‘song length’ is excluded from the overall song lenght (since it’s just an intro :P).

-=> Parasite World <=-

Total N/A ... Uh Oh ! Huston, we have a problem ! The heavy difficulty is not even complete ! Sooo I guess there will be no rating for that song. It seem quite cool at first though. I would blame the quality of the song though.

-=> Radio Star <=-

Total 10/10 Oh yeah ! Pump that bass up ! Really really really DDRish ! Go you !

Steps 6/6 What can I say...they are excellent ! Again here, we see a perfect example of how to use steps from lyrics as a backup before the steps follow something else in the song. Sooo thumbs up !
Extra 4/4 The song has definitively that DDR feeling, the graphics are really nice ! EDIT : My mystake ! The sample IS adjusted, you get a perfect score !

-=> Ragnarok Online TeMP it UP <=-

Total 8/10 Just some minor personal concerns, but this song does worth it !

Steps 5/6 Well the steps were excellent actually ! What I didn’t like si the holds and arrows in the heavy difficulty. I know it’s based on personal opinion, but it’s a public review...So I give myself the rights to criticize :P.
Extra 3/4 Hmmm this song strangely seems to be inspired from the ITG song Hybrid (from Machinae Supremacy)... So it felt more ITG than DDR IMO. The graphics are kind of...not quite hot also ! So I’ll just remove a whole point for those minor concerns.

-=> Rock Steady <=-

Total 9/10 That song is flowing with originality ! I really did like it !

Steps 6/6 The steps are excellent really ! It keeps those feets busy alright ! Sooo two thumbs up for that part
Extra 3/4 Excellent graphics . The song is really appealing also. I may sound stupid to blame something though, but the challenge difficulty could have been easier ! Being 11 just make this song fall into the ITG category (since DDR never exceeds 10). It was just way too hard for DDR. I would say keep things simple here and everything would be alright !

-=> Seven <=-

Total 7/10 Not bad...Steps could be better though (especially those streaming of 16th notes !!! Like what happened there !? )

Steps 4/6 I would say the steps here are descent...somewhat repetitive. That part of 16th streaming sound seemed to be quite a problem. It was okay in standard, but in heavy part, I barely did understand why they stop streaming and then came back. I think there’s double steps also (or is it me that doesn’t know how to turn ?). The ending of the song seem to be sooner than it is really also
Extra 3/4 The graphics are nice and all (and the song is from DM Ashura !). You forgot to adjust the sample of the sooong !!!

-=> Shake It Down <=-

Total 9/10 An excellent simfile ! How close to DDR you could be here ! Are you from Konami ? lol.

Steps 5/6 Hmmm...I disliked the steps a bit, but they seem to be alright !
Extra 4/4 The video ! the background, the writing, the colors ! That’s pure DDR ! haha (and it looks good too !).

-=> The Great Blue Sky (and the stars above) <=-

Total N/A ...Wellll I decided to not bother to rate this song because...it’s maybe better I don’t. I hate songs that are taken from videogames and just put on DDR just like that. You gotta be ORIGINAL and takes some songs that actually has a beat and that would fit in the game ! Thank you !

-=> These Emotions <=-

Total 5/10 Awww ! That song had potential ! I think it would be way better if you could revise the steps ! Better luck next time !

Steps 2/6 That’s where it gets a major downside. The steps are not always following the song and it doesn’t seem flowing as well. A LOT of useless freezes ! I think steps needs a major improvement.
Extra 3/4 Like I said, that song had good potential ! It’s just the way it has all been put together that is not quite right.

-=> Tori No Uta <=-

Total 8/10 Steps are plain fun. Steps could be revised though.

Steps 4/6 The steps here were really nice ! They are not perfect and could be better of course, but still fun ! I think the beginning of the song should be later though. Sooo a relatively high score here.
Extra 4/4 The graphics are good, the video quality and song quality is EXCELLENT ! It’s also a fine choice for a song in my opinion since it’s so smooth...so nothing to blame.

-=> Under The Sea <=-

Total 8/10 Interesting song. Steps are too much focused on lyrics unfortunately.

Steps 4/6 The steps were really entertaining and were also really well putted. I think that the time that the steps actually followed the song is too short and that it followed the lyrics too long. Sooo too much lyrics steps.
Extra 4/4 The quality of the song is good I guess...the graphics are excellent ! It has a funky groove... Hurray for Little Mermaid (lol).

-=> You Raise Me Up (7" Anthem Mix) <=-

Total 8/10 Really great song ! The graphics are just splendid !

Steps 5/6 This rocked ! I really liked it ! It was not perfect, but it was fun and playable alright ! A bit repetitive I guess.
Extra 3/4 Where did you get such graphics ? They are really nice (and goes well with the song). I would only point out the strange...cut in the song when the signer signs in a higher pitch...I don’t know if there would be another way to cut it. If there is, it would be better.
