DDR Bracket 1 First Impressions - Page 3

Getting back on topic, my first impression of bracket 1 gives me hope for the future. But then, my opinion in no way predicts how others' opinions will go. But I honestly only liked about three of the files; most of the rest either had lots of piddly things that annoyed me, or outright sucked. And the ratio between the two is about 1:1.

Not done with my judging yet though. <.< Trickster is down so I have nothing else to do today besides laundry.

Dance no Uta, Emoticons, and Under the Sea were all really good. Tori no Uta wasn't the best file, but the song is amazing.

Bracket one blew me away entirely. (though the song "Blow Me Away" did not

) I think I'm gonna enter the DDR brackets next time around.

ranatalus, I applaud you for being the only entry that I looked at in Nifta's chart viewer, and didn't hammer the score. Seriously, those streams are meeeeeeean.

Anyone play the doubles charts for this bracket? There are two.

Shake it Down- Exactly like single (like a 95% carbon copy) but not bad overall.
Kagehika- Doublesteppy, no fun.

yeah those steps are a bit more double-steppy than doubles normally are but I think you just don't know how to step

i've passed most the 10's on double in both DDR and ITG and regularly get sdg's/fec's on almost everything under.

i can stomach some singles with doublesteps, but on double it's pretty stupid since almost every other step is a crossover. it's just inconsistent.

furthermore, i like how on bms if you don't like x, someone says "you don't know anything about x do you."

Not to take a shot at your sight-read abilities, but if you can actually regularly play 10s and 11s, you should be able to figure out what's a double-step, and what's not. Kagekiha, as you can see by the chart below, only has a few actual double-steps, and most of them can be cheated out of, either by stepping an extra step (marked in red) or jump/32nd resetting of your position. That freeze arrow section is the only legit doublestep in that backside stream, and it's on a 4th note, and even that's cheatable.

Those two "??" areas... I have no idea how the hell that works out. It's possible, but goddamn this is a tech-laden chart.

I've passed all the DDR 10s and everything I've tried in ITG other than Energizer Ex and V^2 ex.

I passed summer Expert sightreading

I passed pandy expert
