I sometimes use "Uira" for reasons I won't get into here, and someone once asked me if Vira was plural for Virus.

Not to mention the ten thousand times I get "Uriu". My own grandmother, God bless her, went to put it on my birthday card, but couldn't remember which way it went... so she asked my mother, who got it wrong. Grandma was gonna do it right, too.

And nobody knows how to say it either. The only guy I know who has four letters who cause more trouble than I do is named Xjph.

a friend of mine doesn't like using her real name because she was made fun of a lot in school because it was part of a nursery rhyme

I don't like my last name because everyone butchers the hell out of it

if name usage is such a big deal why don't you change your username to your real name

You missed the point, obviously.

My point was that he shouldn't complain that his name is spelled wrong and pronounced wrong because it's not Japan and these people do not know Japanese.

I forgot that there are valid and invalid reasons for bitching about one's common name misspellings, in a 'bitch about how your name is misspelled' thread. Thanks for pointing that out; I'll keep it in mind for the future.
