Simple enough, right?

Entries are due by the stroke of midnight (Alaska Time) on New Year's Eve (i.e. when I say Happy New Year's and mean it).

Any questions, ask here. This post is also reserved for posting clarifications if a rule is confusing for multiple people.

EDIT: Uploading of entries will be enabled towards the middle of December.

Alright, my one question right now is, should the simfile's name include the name of the mixer in the artist tag on the songwheel and banner?

Officially, it does not matter, as long as the sources are named in the Readme. It's up to the file artists.

Unofficially, I'd encourage you to use "Mixed By" in the Artist tag.

Ok so if there's a song in the DDR OSC list, you can use another mix of the song or a new cut, as long as the bass song is the same?

Unofficial statement not endorsed by management:
Cutting and gluing two songs together or mash mixing is not enough to give yourself any artist credit; instead, I recommend also creatively mashing the artist names if possible. If you actually remix the song from scratch, then go for it.

Fixed. I believe the answer is stated in the rules, but to be clear: Remixes or new edits as long as they are by the same artist are okay. (Keep in mind that if you're choosing a song from a music game, it needs to be a mix by the artist who did the song by the game, so for example if you're choosing a song from Guitar Hero, it's gotta be the version Soundwave made or a remix thereof).

Note to people in the registration thread picking songs that are not mashups and not on the previous OSC songs list: Don't pick songs that aren't mashups and not on the previous OSC songs list!

Can it be any song from a music game? Suck as......Strong Jaeger or Little Little Princess? Or does it have to be a official remix of the song by the same artist? (Like, Kind lady future trance Mix would be out cuz it was remixed by Sota?)

Unofficial:
It has to be 1) a mash mix involving a song actually in a music game 2) a mash mix involving a past OSC song 3) a past OSC song. You can't use TSJ straight up, although you could mash it (I was considering mashing Gattaiseyo! Strong BAD!! for a while until BBB got taken), and you could do LLP since that was in OSC5 (if it hasn't been claimed). I think Future Trance has been in DDR at one point so you could probably use it, but check first.

Future Trance Mix was never in DDR, It came from a V rare. However, Kind lady and Kindlady Interlude were in DDR, but they were by Okuyotose or something. FTM is by Sota Fujimori.

The V-Rares are obvious and very good choices for song components. While you could not use The Strong Jaegar as it is, merge it with the Strong Bad Techno and you have painful-yet-legal music-game mashups. Ryu made an excellent V-Rare version of TSJ that would make an exceptionally good component for such ideas. Official remixes will be accepted in ignorance of the artist rule. However, SGX's remixes, DM Ashura's, etc., wouldn't count as a music game song.

Actually, you could mash The Strong Jaeger Ryu* Remix with anything and it would be legal, since it is officially a music game song (it was in IIDX Happy Sky).

BTW, regarding the entries topic, Your Rain is not a mashup. That's the original song and artist name (and it's already in DDR)

That mix wasn't, but I think that makes it less legal, not more.

Since it apparently wasn't clear, Gattaiseyo! Strong BAD!! = Gattaiseyo! Strong Jaeger!! and BAD BOY BASS!!
