I really CAN see the difference between the Challenge/Oni ones, wich are obvious.
So why don't you BlueSS make necessary for us to make the Oni steps of the songs we are entering, since it's basically the only thing that makes the two competitions different? Or am I missing something about these charts? Please tell me if I am.

I'm not quite understanding what you're trying to ask, but as for the category separation, no matter how you look at it, it would end up requiring two different judging for 1) graphics, 2) charts that have mines, handplants, or rolls, and 3) How the steps go to the music. ITG is similar to IIDX in that you sometimes stomp to every beat in a section, where DDR doesn't do that as much.
A lot of DDR people hate ITG's steps, and vice-versa, so having them together is a mess.

That's how ITG is, tho... there are a number of songs in ITG that have no Expert charts and which have relatively easy Hard charts with no mines or hands. In that respect they are the same as if they were in DDR.

ITG division is for original charts for ITG songs...
...and DDR division is for original charts for DDR songs. Is that not a bad guess?

In a competition such as this, people enter whatever they please into any division. To a point, DDR and ITG are identical (except for like, banner size), the real difference is just that ITG allows for more, but the stepper does not necessarily have to take those liberties.

I was asking this because I saw a couple songs (Anubis and Delirium to be more exact) on heavy, that had no mines, no hands, and nothing unusual to DDR. But after taking a closer look into some others I could see what Xythar means about this "ITG allowing more" in the charts. I didn't notice this stomping in every beat in a section though, I'll try to pay attention to it. Thanks

Total Tokens: 1,164.18 Donate Tokens | How to create an ITG simfile in easy steps:
1.) open max 300
2.) edit it so you're always facing left
3.) cut the speed in half so it's 150 BPM and all sixteenths
4.) quadruple the length. also, as a bonus, quadruple the length of the song by making it loop over and over again so the player is constantly stepping the same part of the song
5.) add mines
6.) add handplants. as a bonus, you can add them in places that wouldn't make sense even if handplants didn't suck
7.) ?????
8.) Profit!

Although to be honest I think I'd have liked MAX 300 better if it were 150bpm and all 16ths because at least then it wouldn't be all "LOLZ LET'S DOUBLE THE BPM TO MAKE IT HARDURRRRRRRR"

"This episode is brought to you by the letter "L", and the number "1".
On the ITG vs DDR debate: The main difference I find is in their song selection. You can't really force that on entrants, though.
