Some things worked (the new rules scheme), others didn't (only having one head admin).
The final poll had two failures: will-i-am sent his in the day after it was due, and sakuraguy failed to follow the format. Sorry, dudes, but I said I'm gonna be an asshole this time and I meant it. No count for you. http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/bong/r.../FinalPoll.xls http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/bong/results/PollData.txt
And the final results? Winner:
*drumroll*
*drumroll*
*pagestreching drum roll*
*Yeah, I'm a jerk. A little more!* Mata Hari
Congratulations, the_ditz, for winning OSC Beta of New Generation!
Both 2nd and 5th place had ties, interestingly, with Karma and Doctor Pressure matching for 2nd place, Love Tropicana taking a mildly distant third, Know Your Xenemy taking fourth, and the remaining entries ( Blow Me Away, Metal Queen, and V35) all taking 5th. I'm kind of proud to say that every file was good enough to get at least two votes from people.
The most-mentioned "Aww this one didn't make it" was Paranoia Survivor Min. I'm not sure whether or not to be scared, so instead I'm just going to and go.
If nothing else, the high point of OSC BoNG was, as always, the entries - we had quite a batch of them, and I want to thank everyone who took the time to make one under the theme.
COMING NEXT TIME:
* New name
* Actual team of administrators
* Better behind-the-scenes organization including backup plans
* All Songs Open (well, subject to our usual pseudo-decency and don't cause pain rules)
* And perhaps a few more surprises which I am not at liberty to discuss and might get yelled at for even mentioning
Enjoy the rest of your semester, winter/spring, or summer/fall (depending on location and employment status), and keep an eye out when new posts start showing up here.

I rated it highest in my reviews for the best overall refinement, but didn't find it to be as distinct as Karma (dj REMO-CON Mix) or DOCTOR PRESSURE (besides, I knew it would rank first, anyway). Still, it nonetheless definitely deserved to bring home a win (much more so than Inspiration or Cheap Trick Kinda Girl, BTW), and I congratulate the_ditz for his excellent efforts.
Now, for Late Night Love with DDRExtreme and TM7 in the waiting process for the next competition here...

I don't really care that my vote didn't count because I didn't vote for myself anyway. My vote wouldn't really have changed the standings much. I just congratulate all of you who have made it this far and good luck in the next BMS simfile tournament!
P.s. The boogar vote was DQ'ed?

I am honestly surprised that I came 1st after the first round. I just want to say a massive thank you for all the kind words you guys have given me - I set out to make up for the poor performance (by my standards) of Dream of You in OSC5 and I can now safely say that I have definitely succeeded!
Massive congratulations to Karma, Doctor Pressure and Love Tropicana Deluxe - all three of those were throughly deserving of a place in the top 3 as well!
I guess I'm just happy that at the end of the day, DDR OSC Beat of New Generation was won on the merits of the core file components rather than extras. It proves that the simfile is still very much alive and kicking, and going from strength to strength.
I'm honoured that I can now claim that I have won an OSC contest, and I am most definitely in prestigious company in that role. Thanks again everyone - here's to many more great contests in the future | |

Nonetheless, this is definitely where you actually truly deserved to take the gold (not because of extras or a lesser competition), so great job with Mata Hari!
