First off congratulations to everyone that made it to the final round. You didn't get here by accident.

Now, the final round comes down to the public opinion - 100% vote.
The voting system is new this year, so pay very close attention!

Note: Entrants now MUST vote for their own song.
This is to encourage those with files in the finals to still vote for other finalists.
And since everyone will vote for their own song, every song will get either 5 points from method 1, or 3 from method 2; and since every finalist can give their song 5 points, it will even out in the end (as every song will hopefully be +5).
These votes are not additional ones, they count as one of the two songs for each voting category!

You have an option to vote for multiple songs for each Song Division by using the following system.

This option is for people who don't want well rounded results or are too lazy to go back and take a look at the other files again. The songs receive less points this way, and fewer songs get points as well.

Regardless of the results, I want to wish all entrants to OSC5 a fine school year, wherever it's taking you, and thank everyone profusely for entering. It's been fun, in spite of... So, let me get this straight. I think the problem is you're using the word 'categories' to describe two things. Stop me if this is wrong:

For each category of voting (graphics, steps, song), we can vote two songs into that category for each bracket (ITG, KB, DDR; in other words, we vote three times). The points are given according to the breakdown above. These 10 votes must include votes for 4 different songs; each song can be voted for in up to 3 different categories, but only once per category.

I think I've figured it out. Do I have it right?

Also, do we have to vote for each bracket? Since, like, I think keyboard files are all crap.

Yes, you have it right.

And you only vote for the 'categories' (As in DDR, ITG, KB) you want to vote for.

The 'categories' in the voting format are what I'm talking about most of the time in my post.

BTW, this scoring system rules! It's pretty complex and took me a bit of time to get used to, but I find it to be marvelous and far better than just simply voting for your favorite overall song.

I didn't like the voting system at first because in order to make sure my entry wasn't 5 points below the other ones due to my not voting for it... I ended up voting for less entries than I would've liked to. I realized, though, that this gives non-finalists more weight in the vote than the finalists, which essentially makes it fairer.

There goes. The only problem I have with this system is that it forces you to drop songs that you might like a lot, like I gave no points to Dream of You, Samba Brazil, or Fuku Wa Uchi even though I liked them a lot. But I suppose that kind of goes with the territory here.
