Okay, so, I'm going to be frank here.

BlueSS and I didn't think Bemanistyle 7.0 was opening for another few weeks minimum.

I'm praying he saved the entry lists at least partially. The rules and everything else relevent is saved on the ddrosc subsite ( http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com ) although not all of it is publically visible.

I'll be chatting with him ASAP about what to do, but here's the short-hand good news:

DDR OSC 5 isn't cancelled. Delayed by a couple days, maybe, but not cancelled, not even close.

I'm setting up temp threads for continued signups (or re-signing if you really want to be sure your song isn't taken), and we're encouraging everyone to continue on their entries.

Congratulations to djparanoia, Keith, our Data Entry crew, hell EVERYONE who was involved in sevenpointzero. It's live, everyone, and so is OSC5!

The OSc staff sekrit forum remains active yes.

To be honest, how did this happen? Did someone just decide to hit the big "switch to 7.0 and wipe everything" switch without checking with everyone? This is one of the most severe cases of one hand not talking to the other that I've ever seen, to be honest.

The forums wipe is actually the reason I was hoping 7.0 would continue to be delayed for a long time... isn't there any way to bring the new stuff across? Or to make the previous forum accessible in read-only format, perhaps?

I don't think we're going to see this matter resolved right away. There's a lot of tinkering that still needs to be done on everything on the site... there's just a lot of everything, yeah.

In the meantime, however... will we see a legitimate OSC5 site and ruleset soon?

First, is this even that big a deal? As far as OSC5 is concerned, all we're missing is the "registration" thread. If you were seriously considering entering the competition, then you should be checking these forums daily in which case a second registration thread should be so simple it's almost a non-issue.

Second, these forums are unbelivably unattrative. I'm totally aware that whatever IIDX does becomes a fad in the world of Bemani for like six months, but IIDX Red came out forever ago. It was ugly then, it's ugly now, and this website isn't any better, nor will it be in six months.

In any event, and more on topic, there is really very little to worry about in terms of OSC5. Now as far as past OSC threads go, it's a shame to lose them. In a way it's like losing a good bit of history.

Those threads will be going away soon.

I've been away from my computer all week, but tomorrow I'll hopefully be working out the final ruleset and info for everything that's going on.

Until then, get all your stuff from 6.0 and re-enter. It won't be much of a hassle, (just a C&P) and everything will be back on track.
