Default OSC BoNG Entry Discussion

Yep, they're out, and they're rolling.

http://ddrosc.bemanistyle.com/bong/DDROSCBoNG.zip

Enjoy the 18 entries to Beta of New Generation (though a couple might be getting DQ'ed for missing Readme items), and chat about them here.

Just remember that this time, we're going to be a lot less patient towards Drama, and entrants who do so stand to lose significant amounts of points from their entries, as well as suffer Infractions (for those few of you unaware, Infractions add up to bans).

Also, please put all comments on public reviews here and NOT in the Public Review thread!

So in Karma I was stupid and forgot the samplestart. If you want it to cycle right, here's the correct numbers:

#SAMPLESTART:46.610;
#SAMPLELENGTH:9.500;

If you're going to rate based on samplestart, you probably shouldn't change this.

Shouldn't you post the schedules for OSC BoNG somewhere, Neko? (As well as announcing this in the front page of BemaniStyle?)

In addition, since this IS the last OSC using its name, who wants to make some serious courses? (both regular DDR/ITG and with mods)-- I currently have 4 done (no gfx yet), all using BoNG songs only. If there are enough people, I'll go start a thread.

Btw, what happened to the OSC 5 courses?

Anyways, I won't have much time to play the entries untill the weekend, 'cause of school.

I can't wait to download the simfiles. I couldn't join in this time due to lack of time during the holiday, but I'll try to public review them as soon as possible. Good luck to everyone that entered.

Work happened.

Anyone's willing to take over or help with the project, feel free to post in the thread.

I'm still debating whether I should actually go ahead and make and share what was going to be my joke second entry, but I was already too lazy to make my normal entry . Maybe I'll give you guys the mp3 and you can just pretend I made ms paint graphics and ctrl+r steps at the wrong bpm for it. I'm looking forward to playing the entries that did make it in, though.

Dumb question: Why can we give extra charts more points than we can actually give in total? I'm having a hard time figuring out what I should grade these out of.

Follow the specified ranges in the rules, please. The Extras/Penalties scores are the direct average of all scores in that area, while the main scores are multiplied by five after averaging (so they do in fact matter more) - up to 50 points from the main review, and up to 50 from extras. The ranges are specified, and while slightly odd, should be easy enough to wrap one's head around with a little effort.

Harder Better Faster Stronger worked for me as well, but you may want to check the SM if it isn't for you. COnsider which SM version you're using, though - I'm on the latest 4 beta for this contest.

Doesn't work for me, and I'm on 3.9 CVS or whatever it is.

Works for me. I'm on 3.9, probably a non-latest release.

Ohh, I must've skipped that section. So do you want us to do the multiplication ourselves, or shall we just provide a main and an extras score?

And since it's part of the topic, HBFS worked fine for me.
