This could well be their biggest competition yet, especially if more people than just the usual lot show up Song registration opens this weekend, I think. (If it's anything like the previous contests you'll be able to not only register a judged entry but also up to 5 nonjudged, and you can also keep them anonymous until the day the results come out if you want to add that extra element of fun as people try to guess who did your anonymous entries... :P)

OR GO FIND ONE LOL
Actually, my one complain to this idea is you're looking for 'quality' steps. So where does that leave up-and-coming simfile makers whose steps aren't exactly quality yet? I'd rather get the feedback from judging.

I still need to find a great song to step for the DDR bracket, anyway (I'm feeling comfortable with ITG though, as I basically already have my song chosen and stepped).

As for the next OSC competition (though as BlueSS has noted, it may not be named OSC after the critical staff changes), I'm thinking summer '07. You know, when I have spare time to run it.

Perhaps Spring of '07 instead? And if you'll be overworked by having it all during Spring, maybe another moderator could assist you in managing the tournament?

Just keep in mind the clashes with academic endeavors.

If I remember, we were able to upload until the end of June, making the competition not really start until mid-July or so. If you let people upload earlier or at least get song listings sooner, then the competition probably won't be that long.
>_> Just a suggestion... maybe..

Why is everybody so impatient?

Experiencing DDR OSC for the first time ever has made me a lot more aware of what makes a simfile enjoyable, as I already feel like a better simfile designer than I did when I first submitted Samba Brazil. All that I need to do now is find a song to step for the DDR bracket that has the potential in completely hitting the ball way out of the park.

Given the amount of interest there seems to be in having another simfile competition NOW NOW NOW, I thought it might be prudent to inform you all that the TGL Simfile Tourney has been open for submissions for quite some time now. The deadline was just recently extended from Sept 25 to Oct 14, which should give you all enough time to enter at least one bracket if you're not as lazy as I am.

Also in case you didn't know, TM happened once a year, summer - usually BEFORE OSC, so you wouldn't be busy with TM at all.
