Total Tokens: 515.52 Donate Tokens | OSC5 Confessions So, I have to let this out. I spent possibly the whole of 5 minutes making everything other than the expert chart for my Jump and my challenge round entry. That's total. If you look back in the PR's and even the official judgement, I was extremely surprised to see how may people said something along the lines of "The hard chart was well thought out and fun." When in fact, every time I play the hard chart for Jump, I die a little bit inside because I think it's so terrible.
So mainly I was wondering if anyone else has anything like this?
Oh and also, Discovolante got docked on his entry for mirroring his steps in the second half of the song, and the 2nd chorus in my Jump is just copy-pasted from the first half, not even mirrored at all. Or at least that's what I recall...
So second question, anyone get away with something identical or even worse than something someone else didn't?

Well, I made a cut mistake in Wowowee that only people who know the original song very well by heart will realize. It should be "(something something) magsisisi (?)" instead of "sigurado ang swerte" in the chorus; I went to the chorus second time by mistake. Oops.
Actually I'm not sure that's a mistake.
Also, rushed DDR entries make me sad

The most time-saving thing I would have done would be to use the same rhythms for double as I did for single when stepping Shake It Down, but I didn't really see any reason to change them to something worse. I suppose 'time saving' is subjective in this case because the doubles charts still took me longer than the singles charts, heh.

Total Tokens: 7,739.78 Donate Tokens | I never copy-pasted anything in either of my entries. However, I got pretty lazy in parts of A Voice Spoke To Me, especially the stupid candle-crossover freeze jumps from the Expert stepchart, which are far too difficult to perform on foot. I even ended up with some bad doublestepping near the end of it. After reading Jammitch's comments that tied it with I Wanna Talk About Me, I got a realization that there were many things about it that were awkward or too hard to work, yet it seems that everyone else except hamm ended up thinking it was a pretty decent simfile overall. I can understand that, though. I mean come on, worse than Satellite and Day Dreamer by Jammitch's book? That just didn't sit right with me at all.
My new version should be quite a signficant improvement, though. I spent quite a lot of time making revisions to make all five stepcharts work a lot better and more fun.

I put votes in the final round for Cheap Trick Kinda Girl because I thought it wouldn't pose a threat... >_>

When I first heard it I was like, "Why did it skip 'Dahil sa game na to ay di ka magsisisi'? Isn't this a major part of the chorus?" Lol.
I've got a confession too. The banner for my Together file was made with no idea of what to do. For my bg, I got it of the web and thought it was a pretty good blend of pinks. The only thing I did to it was to add text. I was more happy with my bg then my banner, but I was extremely suprised that people favored my banner over my bg. My banner really could've been done in MSPaint! The only thing that probably couldn't have been done in MSPaint would be the text of course. But otherwise, I thought my banner was horrible. I was very surprised when my banner scored higher than INSPIRATION, and other very well made graphics, by 1, or mabye both, of the judges. Some revised comments: "Your banner was very well layed out and thought of," (chah right ), but "Your bg just seemed like a plain pink." Lol.
Oh yah, and I've mentioned it before that this was a very last minute entry. I felt like I rushed the graphics because I never know how to make them. I have no idea how some people know how to make shiney and super DDR-ish graphics. I really only submitted Together to get my name out to the simfile community here at BMS. The only thing I thought would carry my entry far in the competition were the steps and add-ons. I was surprised that almost nobody voted for my extras in the finals, as they said the videos were very well picked out and felt very feminine/loving. I guess my huge cd-title didn't get me the extras, huh? I didn't know how to size cd-titles then and it ended up being abnormaly large to the public and judges.

Blow Me Away I had some excuse. I was on vacation while working on the file (Laptops rule for this) and when I got back, I didn't go straight home. I had high speed, so I wanted to upload it without having to wait a while.
The graphics for it were done with Elements, and if you ever used it, you'll know how much hassle it is to make anything in it. Wasn't for laziness. Just... its impossible to produce custom text effects...
As for I Wanna Talk About Me... rush job. Yeah...

The graphics for A Voice Spoke To Me were actually my very first project on Photoshop CS2 when I got my hands on it, yet people ironically prefered Samba Brazil's art.
I actually resubmitted A Voice Spoke To Me after I got CS2 and redesigned the graphics to look better. The original banner looked like this:
So, what would you guys have thought about that artwork? (The background is basically the same thing, BTW)

Storm is actually an experiment
Have you EVER been mellow was originally a DDR chart. I just added the mines :/
Nagai Yume's graphics/standard steps were done in my... OFFICE?!
