Possibility of a Psychopath Edition 2?

I already requested this idea sometime before OSC BoNG took place, and it was apparently taken into consideration. I would've loved to have participated in 2005's Psychopath Edition, but wasn't in the simfile scene at the time.

However, the main purpose of this second beta competition would be to test a new set of rules after the disaster of BoNG's competition structure, which clearly is in need of revising. We're apparently aiming for something different than OSC, but we should still ensure it all works out in preparation for the next big contest.

So, is there a chance that we'll be able to have it take place sometime during Spring? I can understand if work's getting in the way of things too much for the time being, but I'd still love to play some more of OSC Psychopath.

I'm seconding anotyher OSC psychopath edition. I also wish I had been able to partake in the 2005 psychopath tournament. Ironically enough, I think my 1st OSC was the one right after psychopather edition (OSC 4)

A 2nd Psychopath? Another OSC? I'm not sure if Neko or BlueSS had already made this clear enough for you guys, but BoNG stands for "Beta of New Generation". I think we should respect its title by waiting patiently for the next big simfile tournament on BMS that doesn't use the backbone, OSC. To tell the truth, since BlueSS left, I honestly didn't think there was going to be another OSC after OSC 5. Since there was already a surprise about having a BoNG tournament, I don't think we should bring another Psychopath Edition to the now nearly extinct OSC. I would feel much more comfortable just waiting until the new simfile tournament era has begun before we start submitting simfiles again.

Don't forget that CheeseMix 4 is coming up during the summer at DDREx, you might be interested in that. It's not exactly the same thing (more emphasis on cheese and less on straight out jokes) but there have been plenty of CheeseMix entries in the past that would have fit equally well into Psychopath Edition.

Not to sound impatient, but right now I'm thinking that Summer's just too darn far off, especially considering I've already come up with some great ideas that I want to implement before they go outdated.

Actually, it could even be possible to do a different theme, but I'd hope for it to be truly good. Personally, I really didn't care for the mash-up/revival approach of OSC BoNG, and I ended up stepping some random garbage which I quickly mixed together instead of an attractive euro/dance track among a broad selection of songs; I saved that idea for Late Night Love with DDRExtreme instead.

will-i-am catches my POV on this precisely. Psychopath's Edition 2 isn't happening, sadly - if I were to pull it this time (with no launch-matching intent), it'd be centered on April 1st - and after dealing with things three weeks into the semester (where they were supposed to be done well before, I can't really deal with a second competition in the same semester without failing all my classes. The next competition won't be until summer... If I sincerely feel we need more betaing of the system itself (as opposed to fixing the people, which I already have plans for), a very quick Psychopath's 2 might be used as another test. However, I honestly don't think we'll need to fix so much as to mandate a whole new test run.
