Question: In the challenge round, do you select a song to make a solo chart for that ALSO made it to the challenge round, or can it be ANY entry? Must the song be from the same division?

I kind of agree. Random DDR videos are annoying. At least ITG videos tend to somehow reflect the mood of the song. My favorites are the videos that are for one song only, like Sakura, or those PIU songs, etc.

I don't know... on DDR once in awhile you get these random amazing gems and I'm pretty used to playing with random DDR videos in the background because that's kinda well DDR.

At least random DDR videos aren't nearly as spastic and annoying as random PIU/IIDX 3rd style videos

Agreed.

I also like the zooming-across-a-body-of-water one.

I used to use Random DDR vids for many simfiles, but those who disliked them seemed to outnumber those who did like them.

I say to let people use them that want to use them, include a text file with the script to the background videos for those that have them already so that
A: It saves filespace for videos.
B: People who don't like them have the option of using them or not.
C: Only those with the videos can use them.

Not that great of an option, of course. :P I would like the random DDR videos for any simfile, but if they include the videos with the song, it eats up my hard drive space and my poor dial-up would take forever for a 2 minute song. If at least a script for those videos were on hand, then it would be great. Especially those that worked with Beware's videos.

I did happen to make a background sequence after I submitted my Blow Me Away entry. It was great to see the robot from Pink Rose shoot a gun right as the song says "Fire your guns" and then having the mech from B4U charge up between every break in the vocals in the chorus made it look cool...

Well, there's a problem with even this option: What if the person that downloaded the simfile dosen't have the correct .avi DDR random videos? Anyways, I don't really bother people using random videos for their sims. I mean, dosen't it take more effort to put them in than to leave them out? So, people should get credit for this; they took their time to put in a little more something to make their file better. And if it bothers you when it eats up your hard drive space, then eiter 1). Delete the .avi vids from a file that you already have the vids for in your Random Movies folder or, 2). Put them in your Random Movies folder if you don't already have them. For me, I thinks it's really nice to find an .avi random movie from DDR that I don't already have. This way, I can use these new movies for my other sims. Well, thought I just wanted to share that.
