It takes me a fair bit to make my files due to procrastination and slowness and sucking at graphical shit so I need like forever in order to actually prepare for it, I've been hearing this summer but I just want to verify it
And will this be a true OSC as opposed to some mini-competition?
I promise I won't enter another Parasite World this time though

I don't know if things will change though... they could.

Unless you can't divulge that, which I have a feeling you can't (I won't be here during the summer to work on the files, only to upload them, really)

NOTE: My assumtion stands on by-standards of possibly being politically incorrect in the sence that Hitler might have created a genocide over the Muslims instead of the Jews. (I have no idea what I just wrote... )

Total Tokens: 73,762.12 Donate Tokens | 1) Expect full info posts to be made in mid May, with entries due sometime in June.
2) There will be separate divisions as usual, and there will be a Keyboard division. However, I'm considering whether to merge DDR and ITG into a 'pad' division or not - I really want to encourage more experimentation with styles, something the DDR and ITG brackets system don't really encourage.
3) The name is currently tentatively going to be:
Original Simfile Contest NEO
DDR is explicitly removed as even four-panel simulation has gone far beyond DDR (regardless of what Konami thinks), there's a slim slim chance of the introduction of Pump It Up as a division. Why NEO, then? Because I consider the changes from OSC 5 to the new competition to be comparable to DDR 5th vs. DDR MAX. Why NEO and not MAX? So that there are absolutely no references to DDR trademarks in the name
The rules are going to have some similarities to BoNG, but also some further enhancements based on feedback received from that competition.

Total Tokens: 8,832,613.34 Donate Tokens | Please keep the DDR and ITG divisions. It's difficult to have a baseline of what files should be like otherwise. When everything's all cutting edge and experimental it's hard to decide what's "good" and "bad" without falling back into comparing it to either DDR or ITG.

I still don't really want to merge DDR and ITG into one "open pad" division, since Hamm's underrated Namida Girl simfile got the least respect from the community, as almost everyone else (aside possibly from fireyoshi1) evidently stepped DDR (ITG tends to be more repetitive and more karaoke than DDR, but it's still fun in its own way, coming from someone who almost predominantly played ITG throughout '06). DDR doesn't really mesh together with ITG to be honest. I personally enjoy the differences the ITG bracket brings in, but I believe secondary ITG simfilists such as me, Xythar, and the_ditz would only enter something of that genre if it were in a separate bracket. Other people, such as Ike Pie, Dark Luke, discovolante (haven't seen any DDR sims from him yet, though), and the aforementioned Hamm would feel perfectly at home with an individual ITG division.
