I (along with some other people) entered all three divisions last time and would do so again, although I would prefer they be kept separate. Quote:

Oh, unless it was keyboard, then I think I could manage the pad files. But not the KB ones

DDR would, of course, cover files that are designed to fit specifically with Dance Dance Revolution, whereas Open Pad would cover not only ITG, but also any future four panel games that might come out (DanceTrax?), as well as any forms of chart experimentation that the entrants would like to try out. And in regards to the Pump It Up bracket mentioned earlier, though I do play Pump, my greatest success so far is Pierrot on Normal (is this the correct difficulty title?), which is rated as 5 feet (or whatever Pump calls its ratings). Thus, trying to make a Pump file is highly unlikely.
Finally, I would like to give my support for the idea that Jesterline's essay was one of the highlights of BoNG!

Nobody really plays PIU that competes in the competition (as far as I know) and if they do, they don't make PIU steps or aren't good at the game yet. >_>
If PIU steps were needed in, say, the Bonus round, that would be neat to see, I think. It would definitely be a challenge. :P
And now I'm thinking about it. If we don't do open bracket, we can do more than 1 simfile. >_> I'd rather try my hands at two simfiles than one.
I'll see where this is going, though.

(maybe the participant will need to make a PIU stepchart to a song that didn't originally advance, just for a combination of both)

NekoIncardine, if you do merge the DDR and ITG brackets into one Open Pad bracket, how many entries would we be allowed to enter for it? Would we be allowed two entries, as we could do under the two bracket system, or would we be allowed just one entry?

The possibility exists that it could instead be DDR and Open Pad or ITG and Open Pad, which would leave it at two. If it were a pure merged one, I would probably only allow one entry, though.
In all honesty, I can't think too hard about this right now. Finals week sucks. x.x;

I don't know if it was the same mix, because mine is the anthem version, which is vocal-heavy. From what I know, that version of Get Ready for This was completely instrumental.
Would we be allowed to use a different mix of the same song, or should I find another one altogether?

I'm also going to go ahead and state tentative dates (THESE MAY BE POSTPONED OR ADVANCED):
June 1st: Finalized rules (expect similar to BoNG in terms of requirements, only enforced fully this time, scoring a bit less on extras) will be established, and an uploader provided. We may also be experimenting with a different way of posting results and rules (not a wiki).
June 15th: Files due.
June 16th: First set released...
June 23rd: Second set released...
June 30th: First set judgings in, third set released.
Yes, that means it'll be staggered two-week sets for judgings and reviews this time around.
As for the sets, I am currently thinking either DDR-Open Pad-Keyboard or ITG-Open Pad-Keyboard. The Wildcard will be a surprise, but not an essay. My current idea is, in a word, quite interesting and I'm pretty sure will be highly unexpected.
