Awesome! I made it to the finals, which was my main goal for the competition. I hope my simfile gets quite a few votes, even though I highly predict the winner will end up being Radio Star or Wowowee instead. Congratulations to everyone else who made the final round!

Wait.

Why were only the DDR brackets reviewed by the ditz and BlueSS?

If it's because you only played the DDR ones on pad, I didn't play ANY on pad and I doubt any other public reviewers did.

Not that I'm complaining.

edit: Neko, I don't know if you proofread, but this was your review for Eggman's domino-

"There are two major problems here: First off, this file manages to be apeshit crazy at times. Even at 0.7x speed and 2x scroll, I had a hard time reading it at many points. Alternatively, many sections"

:/

I played everything 2 or 3 times on pad.

Hence why the ITG bracket was not judged. (As I would not be able to pass several of the songs.

UPDATE: If you have multiple songs in the finals, they're going to stay. It makes more sense to keep them in because all 3 categories are divided for their own winners.

This means sorry, Akira, you're not in the final (but were pretty close with that entry still).
Specifics on the final voting and how it will happen may be tonight if I get time to put the polls up... if not, you all can speculate or try digging up how it was going to be ran from the earlier discussion and a certain particular round breakdown graphic I made back at the beginning.

I for one won't review anything on keyboard because my opinions are always different from when I play on pad.

So, if you play on KB, you don't just ghost the steps out? That's what I do if I don't have access to a pad.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Ghosting/Shadowing isn't quite the same as ever actually stepping the song on a pad too.

Nope, I don't ghost the steps out. A slight percentage of the reason why is that I don't know how well I'm doing (like whether I'm getting marvelous steps or perfect steps or great steps) if I ghost the steps (and ghosting and keyboarding at the same time is just a really bad idea in case you were thinking about that...), which makes judging sync a thing to have to do with a separate keyboard playthrough, and which feels awkward anyway because I need to feel like I'm actually playing DDR instead of just shadowing the 2 people who are currently occupying the machine

edit: ok that sentence isn't supposed to be just one sentence (because of the first 7 words) but yeah

I generally keyboard and then ghost, since my pad sucks. It's definitely not advised to try both at the same time, tho. This is probably also why my PRs take me so long :/ (although I think Juub wins the dedication award by a fair margin)

Actually, I do ghost sitting down while playing on the keyboard. It's a good way to get some motion into your day when you spend a lot of time at the computer.

Also, I'm not cool enough to have pad hookups like you people.

Yeah, I'm kind've annoyed.

If the next line was supposed to be "Alternatively, many sections are very easy," that would be because the song goes from "crazy 16th synth part" to "8th note jump part" and uh...that should mean that one part's going to be a lot harder than the other. The 16th parts wouldn't even be all THAT hard if people actually played keyboard solo. There are no turns.

*Looks at the results* :jawdrops: I made it to the finals?! ZOMG! I really wasn't expecting this. Totally. Well, the_ditz really doesn't feel for my file and puts it at last, but then as if by magic, BLueSS thinks the steps are nearly legendary. Wow. I don't know what else to say but, good luck to all in the finals (and I truly mean this because I'm really sure I won't win this) and thank you, thank ou, THANK YOU, to BLueSS for really enjoying my file!... well, even though you can't controll yout enjoyment towards a file.
