But seriously, I agree that we should stick with using the three divisions from OSC's 4 and 5. I enjoyed the fact that there were several simfiles that were distinguished as ITG-style, while others were completely meant for DDR. It was extremely organized, allowed those who were more skilled at designing ITG simfiles get their way, and allowed people to know which bracket they would want to play, depending on whether they enjoy DDR or ITG more. I dislike the idea of merged pad because it doesn't purely follow any particular theme, and while freedom is nice, I feel that open pad gives out too much open choice and thus lacks the consistency that the divisions had.

Something like:
Fun - #/50
Well-done - #/50
Someone help me understand how this open division will be judged, for the love of god.

-Does it have arrows? 75/100
-Is there music? 20/100
-Misc 5/100

Marketplace Rating: 5 | The problem with OSC having a keyboard bracket is that the people involved in OSC largely have absolutely no clue as to what makes a good keyboard file and they attempt to apply DDR or ITG ideas to thinking about them. Doesn't work that way. Then the results end up horribly skewed.

I hope they keep the KB bracket in the next full one, I have some good ideas.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | New Suggestion: How about anonymous entries? That way, personal history and stuff doesn't get in the way of the reviews. (Including if someone gives their file a bad review.)

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I'm still trying to figure out if the "difference" between DDR style and ITG style is something as asinine as "DDR=easy, ITG=hard", or something about hands, mines, and rolls.
Open Pad should be fine.
I think the biggest change that could be made is that people are required to play each file twice, so they know what they're talking about before judging it. I don't want to lose any more points for things that I didn't do, for instance. Maybe smaller numbers of entries per bracket to allow more time with the songs in them?
Also, having a chart that is 'too hard' for a reviewer just means there should be an easier but no less well thought out chart (within reason) that they can use instead. Because if there's a way to get public reviewers to play more than the Heavy charts, it'd be great. Perhaps if, say, the Challenge chart for something is completely beyond a reviewer, but still has enough to say about the rest of the file, the Challenge steps can be ignored for the purposes of that one review. Maybe.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | So I'm assuming "don't release it until the bracket is available for download" still applies... is playtesting it on an R21 where *gasp* people might see a violation? I wouldn't say anybody who would see it is going to review it (most of them don't like my shit either anyway ;_
Yes, this is more convenient than USB adapters.

~Uiru | I'm not going to disagree that it's more convienient. As long as you're not giving it to other people before release, ITG R21 (or hacking ITG machines lol) is a valid way to test the files or just mess around with it.
Note: Anyone who asks for instructions as to how to install the hack can die. And not receive the instructions.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Instead of getting rid of keyboard, just be a lot more strict. There are good keyboard charts out there, just most people cant do it correctly. If you HAD seen my keyboard chart for Your Rain, you would have been pleasantly suprised. and my doubles for Boundry is going to be.....well, youll see.
Heres an Idea, add MORE songs to the list that are new, or let people choose there own. I dont see why it has to be restricted to a list.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I think the whole idea of restricting to a list is A) to have a gimmick, and B) to put the focus more on the new ruleset. When you're trying something new, you don't want to have everything be new all at once; it invites more places for failure to creep in.

I dont see why it has to be restricted to a list. | See what TakeWalker said, and add basically that I need to find a way to keep the entry count down for this competition as a collary of it's focusing on testing the new ruleset.
