Let me reword what BlueSS said:
* Simfile contests on Bemanistyle.com are not dead.
* The OSC name, however, fairly likely is. I'm just not sure it can be called that with BlueSS gone, for one.
* The new contest is going to have from-scratch rules, with the following critical adjustments being concepted:
- Public Reviews and Judging will probably use the exact same format, the idea being that if judges have to leave, excellently-done Public Reviews can be moved onto the judge team.
- As a result, judging's going to be fairly streamlined.
- If I can in this way get 6 judges every time, I'll bring back one of the more intelligent OSC3 rules: The highest and lowest (overall) scores are averaged, then that forms the five scores used to calculate victor.
- DDR and ITG divisions might be getting merged into a 'pad' umbrella, specifically to open options to people and remove the admittedly-there style locking currently present. There's merits to be had for Pump-style steps on a DDR pad, or other things you just don't see right now, and that I personally want to see.
- Alternatively, a dedicated 'free pad' division could be considered, for charts that aren't clearly DDR or ITG style. I am not sure which option I would consider.
- Keyboard will remain separate (if not separate competitions, separate brackets).
- The 'extras' scores from OSC3 will come back - but it will now (still in the caseof Challenge charts) be possible to lose points if your extra is exceptionally bad. Not as easy as it was this time, but still possible.
- Fewer points for basic rules-following.
* A few things that aren't changing:
- The required number of stepcharts is not changing. 3 for bad, 2 for keyboard is standing. All charts will be judged.
- OUTSIDE OF SIDE COMPETITIONS, genres are not going to be limited, with the exception of discouraging songs specifically selected to cause pain in teen-to-young-adult ears (lol barney)
- Steps will be 60-75% of the score (I believe this is how it's always been).
- Graphics are still 640*480 minimum.
- No off-Bemanistyle prizes (Tokens and badges, however, will be considered).

* These concepts will likely be tested in a small-scale side competition coming during the Christmas season. The theme will not be Christmas or Holiday songs, in keeping with discouraging painful music. I'm otherwise not entirely sure what to run.
