Any idea's on how to connect this pad?

OK so a friend of mine gave me this pad of hers (see pic Here (linky)) , only been used 3 times but I know how to maintain these things.

Anyway, skipping that, I need information on connecting it to the PC. Originally, as far as I've been told, it was the Playstation 2 version of the pad. Unfortunately I don't have its cable (although I believe the control box is already built in) but this wouldn't help anyway as my PS2 controller adaptor has the axis problem.

Anyway to come to the point of my post, how do you suggest I connect this to usb. To me it looks like a standard parallel port (Here (linky))but I am unsure if simply getting a parallel to USB converter would work (I dont have a parallel port in my PC).

Any other suggestions?
