use virtual dub to extract the audio from the video file then just re-encrypt the video file with whatever format and codec you want and save it without the audio in it.

For Japanese Characters...

copy the jap characters and paste it to whatever you want post it on .sm and make sure you Save As... UTF-8 Format instead the standard ANSI

As for Croping

It depends what codecs you installed in your computer and there should be a filter about that on vdub.

THanks for the input... now my F8 isn't working anymore it doesn't increase BPM.. It's very frustrating... and I I cant' overwrite the BPM manually in notepad... it always revert to some weird BPM in SM...

nono... I have several problems....

1. I can't find the button to encode video only in vdubmod...
2. The F8 button (Increase BMP in Stepmania) doesn't work... only F7 works.... but it seems like all the shortcuts in edit mode are messed up... f7 doesn't work... f5 and f6 copies steps from other modes... somebody help me ;_;

To encode video only.

1. Make sure you video is there (lol, common sense?)

2. A video without audio just click Audio > No Audio

3.a. Make sure the video is on Click Video > Fast or Normal Recompress or Full Process mode for compression

3.a1. To select what compression codec you want Click Video > Compression There should a list of codecs on a window pop-up come out and the basic codecs of DivX, Intel Indeo, Microsoft H.263, and XviD (if have you have them...). Go click configure button to do what ever quality of video you want.

3.b. Or without compression just choose Click Video > Direct Stream Copy

4. Once you set up your audio settings and video settings... time to save. Click File > Save As Avi...

Lol... I thought you actually got them off the OST... usually OSTs have the TV-sized themes... >_< btw... how do you do the special pause, and slow down in your step charts? I think they are really cool...

f7 f8 - bpm changes
f9 f10 - stop

selecting from one point to another (area of the chart is shaded red) press enter and enter on compress 2x of the bpm or whatever option is there.

Its weird that your stepmania does not allow you to press those keys. try unistalling it then go to program folder move yours song out of the way. then delete the stepmania folder for a clean unistall. then install it back in. then move in wuth the music.

I though your errors only occurs on stepmania 4 but stepmania 3.9 weird... I never get errors from that version (except this computer weird off-sync and globeoffset changes).
