Default BMS-ers: What do you like to see in a sim?

This has been sitting in the back of my head for a while.
I want to make more simfiles, but since nobody comments I don't know whether they like it or not.
So. I want to know what you all like to see and play from a simfile.
What makes a sim "fun" for you?

First of all: the syncing must be good. I like when a sim has variation, and when it isn't extremly hard.

Uhm, scream-sama just summed it up for me...

Though I do like the occasional tough simfile. One that gives me something to work for. (i.e. Gackt's - Redemption)

Something that isn't total stream.

Technical skill.

Quirks that go with the song but arn't abused.

All that stuff but I'm more of a keyboard person if one of the difficalty modes could be quite hard, that'd make it fun to play on keyboard.

...if that's not too much to ask.

Get the BPM right. YNS is the ultimate killer of what would be a good stepchart (usually, people don't bother to play a badly synced file).

I like steps that usually follow harder to hear sounds in the song, but something catchy. I enjoy streams where they are supposed to be (But not continious 16ths).

And don't make the whole thing 4th and 8th notes only.

I am the other way around of GameFreak19911991 as for the sound and the arrows lol...

I like it when the arrows follow obvious sounds. Sometimes, harder difficulty are difficult to make as a smfiler but hey ! A worthwhile Stepfile song SHOULD have the necessary musical composition to be able to create all difficulty necessary without the input of unnecessary arrows or arrows that follows ''too hard to notice'' sounds.

Basicly, I consider a smfile a good simfile when it is synced right, it respects the time of a short (normal) smfile (-2:30), it has at least 3 difficulties, it has attractive background and banner and it has arrows that makes sense...hence, when it's obvious someone has put some efforts into it !!

As extras, I totally go crazy on songs with (necessary) BPM changes along the way... (that makes 4th notes into 9th ones as example).

Vary which track of the song you follow for the steps. Follow a drum in parts, a synth in parts, etc.

Yeah but it must be done in a good way. For example if it follows a guitarsolo it can't just jump over to follow the drums....
