Default Can I get some help with creating a song please?

Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible to play a song and at the same time step to the beat thus creating a stepchart? I don't like to add in arrows and then playback the song to see if they are placed in the correct location. Since I memorized the beats of this techno song I'd like to just play it and "step" a stepchart if possible...

Thanks for any help.

Highlight the area (space at start point and space again at end point)

Choose a snap (4ths, 8ths, 16ths (not recommended if you don't have a very good timing))then press Ctrl+R And start recording. This is not a good idea though since it will cause some problems in the stepchart (inaccuracy)

I still suggest inputting it manually rather than recording it. It make more accurate steps to what you want it to turn out. Recording is time-saving but you'll be spending time in fixing errors it left like unwanted 3 steps in one note, badly-formed holds, yellow arrow syndrome, etc.)

Thanks dude I'll try that, and I was thinking of only highlighting about 10 seconds of the song, stepping it with a PS2 controller, and then repeating that with the next ten seconds and so on

Well I finished the song and I'm happy with the step chart, but like you said I got that yellow arrow syndrome throughout the song....I don't really understand how it's a negative thing since the arrows are synced up with the song itself...is there an easy way to fix it or should I just deal with it?

To check for proper syncing in edit mode, turn on the handclaps by pressing F4 and play through the chart. Listen for if the claps, which represent the steps, go with the music the way you want them to. If not, then that's where you'll need to make adjustments.

and if you want to cure yourself of yellow note syndrome and they are perfectly synced the way they are, you can just press and hold F11 or F12 to increase/decrease the starting offset so the song is matched up with the beats in edit mode. then all you have to do is cut and paste the notes so they line up with the beats and the song
