As in actual critique, not 'zomg lollers naruto 10'd'.
Now see this might be a little touchy because I would -hope- that a lot of people already know about the 'constructive criticism' checkbox that exists on the bottom of every comment box on the simfile.
Basically, what I'm trying to accomplish with this thread is a way to single any given simfile that an author has created out and let the masses go to town on constructively criticizing their simfile. Why, when I just said the first paragraph?
Because 99% of the time, people don't do it, and there are a select few simfile artists out there, myself included, which generally welcome -any- insight into the files that they've made. The only reason I know this is because I -generally- give comments in simfiles that I thought could've been made a little better and act accordingly by telling them exactly -what- could have been better based on my observations, be it right or wrong.
To relieve a bit of stress on having a person just come in here and post ALL of their simfiles at once and to make it to where it's fair, I'd suggest that some seriousness in this thread and limit the feedback to one simfile (until enough criticism has been amassed for one file).
I only make this thread for those that are serious in gaining feedback on their files, not for them to post away and get 'omg lollerz look at diz sim'. Though I have a feeling this may happen anyways, I'm generally offering this out just so it becomes available for those serious artists out there to have the opportunity to put one sim out there for those people to view and get an idea of if they're on the right track with their simfile career or not.
Okay, if you made it this far, here's what I'd wanna see:
>>>
Post what you want looked over and a link to said simfile. (LIMIT ONE UNTIL REVIEWED)
After you do that, you'll get feedback on it from other people that frequent it.
After sufficient amount has been given, then you can do another one.
>>>
So basically this is a 'serious' comments thread. I do this because I know there are many out there dying for such a thing -and- I know for a fact that this is true because I get constant PMs about that when I give feedback in their sims.
If that's all well and good, I'll start off with my own to give everyone else an idea:
>>>
"I need people to take a look at an under-hit simfile by the name of
Omniphilia (Rama Gardens 2.0). It's a follow-up to 1.5 and I was really wondering what people thought of it from a Marathon standpoint of view. I realize that not a lot of people like those, so that's why I'm throwing that out there - for feedback."
>>>
That's all. The rest is just getting more things back from the serious simmers and getting more things to look at to kind of generate some activity in 'simfiles to point out for critiquing'.
OF COURSE, this all stems on moderator allowance. I would think that the reasons I've stated are for the right reasons, but it's all a matter of a moderator saying 'oh well that's what comments are for' and defeat my entire purpose. The decision rests then...but hopefully this'll allow for some actual feedback where the comments are usually oppressed to such a thing.
