Ok I made a sime file but I don't like the part in the song for when you pick your song, I want to make it play a certain part, how can I do this.

So I made a simefile, but the intro when you pick your songs is not the part that I want how can I change this?

#SAMPLELENGTH:22.740;

these two values are what you wanna edit (they'll be different number values but the tags are the same)

#SAMPLESTART:44.494; <-- This corresponds to the time in the song, this value means that 44 seconds in is where it plays the demo reel

#SAMPLELENGTH:22.740; <--- This corresponds to how LONG the demo plays. Easy enough, just adjust as needed.

Those are the tags in the .sm file that you can modify to change what is played for the sample.

You can also do it from the editor with F11 and F12 and then listen with M (I could be wrong. It's been forever).

F11 and F12 is for the beat offset,

i think it's

"[]" for the samplestart
"{}" for the samplelength

Double click the .sm file. Open it with Note Pad. Adjust the SAMPLESTART and LENGTH. Select save in Note Pad. Go to your simfile in the Stepmania Editor and select reload song.
