The motion and the structure of the characters in SuperNOVA is very different so it will use a different set of bones which is not available yet
The characters themselves would be quite easy. For the most part, it'd just be modding of the outfits (use Baby-Lon's bones for PiX to make her short), and adding Gus and Janet to the group.
this is a severe understatement. Stepmania borderline lags with just the test emi model which isn't even completly done. Probably not gonna happen either.

So they're in the process of doing this then? Also, wouldn't SM lag all depend on your comp and not your dancer?

But still, they would be dancing with the same early DDR motion.
Is there some chance that the action scripts could be ripped? (from the arcade or the PS2 disc)

if it is anything like an XBOX... No. Just because the scripts are differn't from the ones in stepmania. anyways, it would be hard to find someone with a Linux running on their PS2, with time to even give it a try.

As I said, it would just be the characters themselves. We'd need new bones to make them have their SuperNOVA dances. I haven't seen or heard anything about new dancers. In fact, I don't think a dancer's been made since last year that was released to the public.

So it's likely that Supernova characters will never make it so SM?
It's possible, IMO. Just don't make them exactly like SN's, drop the polygon count to a level where SM can handle it. Sure, they'll look kinda blockier, but hey, at least they're free.
