Default DDReam Studio: New Feature Poll

There were a lot of feature requests in the past few months. Thanks everyone.

These are the most popular requests, but I'll probably only have time to work on one of them for now.

Which one?

If the poll above does not work, click:

yes... resizable windows... also the Ctrl+Z support

on top of that, support for frequencies other than 44100Hz.

Pump and Doubles support can always be a low priority since you can do this in the SM Editor but yeah... at least leave these data fields when overwriting files... like retaining it in the files saved in DDream.

A "Tap the note" method can be fine too... although this is gonna be complicated.

Also, if possible, automatically detecting BPM independently just like mixmeister or FL Studio (or other similar programs do)

I voted for resizable window for now

However, if its possible, some items pointed out by Akira would be nice too.
-Detecting BPM automatically would be uber neat.
-Undo/Redo also would be appreciated, been pulling my hair for mistakenly overwriting steps.

No need to rush, current version also works like wonder.

Akira/Arashi - BPM detection added to master feature request list

Akira - 1.11+ supports 8000-192000 Khz.

also 1.10+ retains all data fields for pump/doubles

What is the "tap the note" feature? As in, tap the notes with no beats defined? If so (the rest of the post assumes so), would the program assume that the notes you are tapping are only quarter notes, or all of one type of note - e.g., everything you type is a 16th note (that would be easiest)?

Currently you can already tap the beats, and then make a second pass and tap the notes in auto-quantize mode.

EDIT: Note that even in the "tap the note" scenario, you'd think you'll still want to make 2 passes - the first to write the steps, and the second to tweak the beats (and/or the exact step placement). So ultimately it seems to be basically the same number of passes as what already exists, except in reverse.....

i'm always afraid of editing pre-existing songs with the pre-1.x versions. Good to know that.

ah and yeah the "Tap the notes" thing i'm saying was...

but yeah after you mentioned auto-quantitize mode, it's all cool.

best of luck man

Yeah, ddream records all BPM changes as you tap, but if you want just the average BPM like the above screen shot (assuming that the above tapper finds an average BPM over many taps instead of changing at every tap), type "A", Enter.

I'd like a way to cut songs with making use of beat tapping, but I feel that that would be a lot harder to work on. Also, that would be different.

If that isn't possible, undo/redo then.

hmmm... cut songs with beat tapping? Interesting. Care to describe it in more detail?

UPDATE: undo/redo is about halfway done. Beta coming soon. Features unlimited undo levels (all the way to the first edit)

Sweet. I would have been happy with something like 5 undos, but if you can go back all the way to the first edit that is truly amazing. Can't wait.
