Default Doubles steps in simfiles

How important are doubles steps to you in a simfile you download? I'm going back and adding them all to my old simfiles for completion purposes, but I was a bit curious as to who actually gave a crap about doubles in SM.

Required. I don't play doubles, but it's required for completeness.

I put doubles in most of my files these days, but I don't think any less of a file if it doesn't have doubles. It's kind of hard to set stepmania up for doubles if you don't have metal pads.

Not a requirement whatsoever. In fact, I know that most people aren't going to even waste the time messing with them and usually only go for the harder stages on single as it is in most communities I've been to about the subject.

Could I create one and know what I'm doing? Of course...and probably better than some of the awful ITG ones I've seen...but the fact of the matter is that there just isn't enough demand on my part to make doubles steps and it's nowhere near my forte so I don't bother with them.

I don't think that it's really important to have doubles because I rarely play them myself. However if you're looking for complete simfiles then it would be fine. Just as Super_Ray mentioned, I wouldn't think any less of a simfile if it didn't have doubles but it can be quite difficult to play if you don't have metal pads.

I really don't care. XD If it has them, great. If it doesn't, that's fine too.

Doubles were never my cup of tea, anyways. XD I do much better with single stepcharts.

I don't care. I only have one pad, and doubles is really impossible without metal pads, or soft pads with some kind of frame that keep them still. If I ever did need doubles, I would just let SM Autogen take care of it.

Indeed...but we've already witness laziness in Konami with Hottest Party...

At least make an autogen of each singles steps to make it complete.

Personaly i don't care if there are doubles or not, i never play them.
it all depends on the person creating the simfile and if they think it needs it.

Being more of a doubles player myself it is nice to have. Not required but that way more people get to experience your songs if they are strictly doubles (there are quite a few out there).

I'm not sure why anyone would want to try SM Doubles, but at least I'm working on some due to the upcoming event in my school.

I never ever play doubles because I only have one pad and playing doubles on the computer is pretty pointless in my opinion. So I think it's not important at all.

I'd been wondering this question myself until recently because I wanted to know if anyone'd want my simfiles to have Doubles charts.

According to consensus, though, it's as I thought: Nobody really plays Doubles on StepMania. They all just want the hardest Single charts possible. So until the day players start requesting I write Doubles charts, it's not gonna happen.

I can play Doubles, but I'm not partial to it. I could also write Doubles charts for this reason, but as I said, the demand just isn't there.

As for ITG Doubles charts being bad, I don't think they're bad, just cliched: a lot of Expert Doubles charts are just handplant gimmicks. And I thought some of my old handplant-riddled edits were bad!
