Default Getting Win7 x64 to recognize Cobalt Flux control box

After upgrading to Windows 7 (64-bit), I can't get my Cobalt Flux control box working on my system. When I plug the control box into the USB port, I get an error "USB Device Not Recognized", saying that the device malfunctioned.

Anyone know of a fix or drivers that will solve the problem?

If I had to guess, it's probably incompatible drivers or it's not compatible period...and looking on the Internet for this, I haven't found anything that would suggest either way. I've had to deal with that already on a number of things going from XP 32-bit to W7 Ultimate x64 (PS3 controller, for starters). What system and bit version did you upgrade from?

Speaking of Windows 7 x64, does anyone know of a ps2->usb adapter that works with it? Or one that works with Vista x64? ( I imagine if it works with Vista x64 it'll work with 7 x64)

I posted a reply and it said it went to moderation review, never showed up on this thread, what the hell? Maybe I pressed a wrong button.

Anyway, what I said amounts to the fact that I still haven't gotten it working, and Cobalt Flux sent me a reply with some general drivers and other MayFlash drivers, but they don't work.

I looked around the internet and the usb device problem seems to lie with Windows. A lot of people are having problems with Windows 7 x64 not recognizing all sorts of usb devices. But the problem is exacerbated since the Cobalt Flux is meant to be plug-and-play and really doesn't have any drivers to speak of, so with Windows not willing to recognize it at all it looks like I'm SOL.

Likelihood is someone's going to have to find a way to make a compatible USB driver to work with it. The PS3 is no different...in fact it's some ridiculously confusing process in order to make it work right and it's some MotionInJoy controller driver that is modded to work with a PS3 controller with an additional program.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is much different than that...someone's going to have to be given a lot of Hot Pockets and Mountain Dew to come up with that, though. Some 14-year old nerd in the basement must know the answer.

Best I can tell you until that time is to dual-boot off your system (i.e. have both XP and 7 on your compy). I did that with my system just in case something like this would happen.

Yeah thanks Hiryuu, I was just thinking that loading up xp onto the system is my only option. It's not like I care what OS is on there, I only use that computer for stepmania really.
