having problems with characters...

okay, I don't really get any of this. XP so please be nice lol.

I downloaded some characters to use in the stepmania (I have 4.0) The Yoshi works out fine but the Emi, EVA-01, and Sailor Moon all make the game shut down.
The crash info says that the 'rest' doesn't work but the thing is that Yoshi doesn't have a problem with the 'rest' He just starts dancing like told. Is there a way to get the other characters to work? (dancing Yoshi only can get quite annoying)

PS, the Yoshi 'rest' file (the one that the others are messing up with) is a text file while the other three has the 'rest' file as a REDIR file. Could that be the problem? If so how do I fix it?

Open one of the REDIR files as a text file and check to see if the file it's pointing to actually exists. There's a good chance that you don't have the standard set of bones files and that Yoshi has his own bones and doesn't need the standard ones. If it's pointing to a file that doesn't exist, try downloading the character pack from stepmania.com (if they fixed it, it was corrupt for awhile) or check some of the bigger StepMania theme related sites for bones files.

okay, did it.... *checking* got it to work! haha! Thanks a bunch! thankies thankies! They all work now. ^_^

I have encountered the same problem too.

But I've already downloaded the .bones files. Where do I put those? Inside the character's folder or the main Characters folder of SM?

I put mine in the \Characters\ folder
