Having StepMania calculate scores like SuperNova does
I was wondering, is there a way to have StepMania calculate the score the same way SuperNova does ? That would mean having each perfect giving 10000000/n (with n the number of steps in the song) and each great giving half of that, and anything under great giving 0 instead of giving malus.
Would be nice also if AA requirement was then 95% and not 93% - but that's defined by the theme, isn't it ?
No idea if that's a dumb question, I have absolutely no knowledge in stepmania .ini's and metrics
It isn't defined by the theme, which makes me sad. All the settings are in stepmania.ini. Set all stuff less than Good to weight 0, and then change the AA req.
So, if you change what the .ini says then you can change the grading system? So in thereoy you could get the BeatMania grading system? It would be real nice because I'd like to be able to get AAAs without having to worry about missing a singel step or getting a great.
I can't find however which line to change to have the max score be 1000000 instead of 1000000 * number of steps (didn't count my 0's but you get the idea).
Oh well I can't find either the line with the AA requirement

The max score in stepmania is based on the DDR Extreme calculation
where MaxScore = FootRating * 1000000
Im pretty sure. Since marvelous isnt available during regular play, the game simply calculates without Marvelous, and the result is the same.
Theres no way to get this behavior in Stepmania without rewriting it. However, the grade tier can be changed in the Stepmania.ini file in 3.9 or in the metrics in 4.0
I don't get it when you say "using these dance point values". Are you talking of the value of each step (score value, not DP) or ?
Well basically I got it that it's just impossible to change the MaxScore, which is sad I'd rather keep playing with Extreme calculation then instead of using a mixed scoring system
