Default Highest foot rating in a simfile?

What is the highest foot rating you have ever seen in a simfile?
Also
What's the highest rating file you passed?

I've seen Chik Habit Beginner-30 feet
Minami Ikebukuro Hardcore Custom-21 feet on oni

I've passed a 14 footer before.

The hardest song I've ever made is a 13 footer.

Foot ratings are completely arbirary. They mean nothing. I just put 30 as the difficulty for Chik Habit cause it seemed like a good number. I didn't have any reasoning behind it. I know someone made a 99 foot badger joke sim at some point.

The variable type used by Stepmania's foot ratings are long integers. Valid range for foot rating is between 1 and 2,147,483,647 - anything outside this range will default to 1.

I beg to differ, i've had files with 573,000,000,000 difficulty before and it registers (and this is with 3.9 CVS)

I saw this thread and replied with Difficulty standardisation. It also reminds me of The hardest songs that you have ever done.

To answer the question directly, the highest people seem to seriously go, with the exception of the IS series is 15- e.g. Blue Army (hard edit), but that actually seems easier than some of the 13 foot ones, like the Dragonforce sims and Razorflame's stepfile to Happy Snowman (13- Oni). At any rate, I think IS3 is the highest I've seen (17- Heavy) and as for that I have absolutely no chance of actually passing it, lol.

whenever i play a keyboard sim, since the difficulties are so arbitrary and an 11 could be harder than a 15, i rerate them to what i think they should be, but i give it a 3 digit rating. it's basically a 2-digit rating with a decimal point, but since SM can't to decimal foot ratings, i multiplied it by 10 (ie, a mid-range 13 would be a 135, and one that's barely a 15 would be 150, etc). at any rate, the highest i've rated one is 167 (Vertex GAMMA), but the highest i've seen otherwise is the 30 on Chik Habit.

I've seen a 1337 foot rating for a Death Moon joke simfile.

When making simfiles - paddable ones, especially - I tend to rate on the ITG scale. Thus, I will give songs ratings of 14 and 15 if they are harder than the hardest songs in ITG, and even the occasional 16 if they're near-impossible to play on pad but still indexable. I think that's fair enough. Whether for keyboard or pad, any rating above a 16 is overkill for me, unless it was truly impossible or the author just wanted to make a point (573).

That's not taking into account DDRX's difficulty system, which I personally won't bother with yet until it gets more usage over the next few DDR iterations.

My DUE TOMORROW's Challenge steps is Level 20 and so far this is the highest rating I've given in my sims...

I do follow the DDR X rating which is for me accurate and something predictable...

I remember making IS1, 2 and 3 for 15, 16 and 17 footers on Heavy (joke) and 2000 BPM a 20 footer (also joke).

Although Ace 'passed' the first one with a AA.
