Total Tokens: 5,883.38 Donate Tokens | On the simulator DWI (Dance With Intensity) there is a way to just put the kanji in an image and get it to display on the songwheel in DWI. See the readme for instructions on #DISPLAYTITLE and #DISPLAYARTIST, I believe they are.
But for some reason (it would make things a lot easier as far as accommodating songs or artists in foreign characters) Stepmania does not support this. Instead you've gotta do what the two people above said and hope that Stepmania happens to have those characters, which it might not.

then in the simfile wherever you want that character to go apply this text:

aaand your done :P

Using Photoshop, make a new file with a height of 50 pixels. Use Black or Transparent as the Background. Make a guess at the length depending on the length of the title. Just don't make it too long. Just enough to fit on the songwheel :p
Input the text. Make sure you have a 10-pixel allowance below the title.
Crop the excess pixels and save as a PNG file in your Song Folder
For example, This is the Omega Symbol, which is used in Max 300, 
in transparent 
Then, to add this to the SM or DWI File, add a tag like this:
#DISPLAYTITLE: {file-char.png};
In where "file-char.png" is the filename of the picture.

Total Tokens: 584.76 Donate Tokens | mmm well what i did was just install a japanese font into my comp... if u have windows XP take out the windows xp cd and put it in, then access your language and regional settings options in the control panel, and add japanese from the list in one of the tabs there. ater this i think u'll have to reboot and then ull get a nice lil language4 bar letting u change what u type from english to japanese :3 then when u wat to insert the kanji, type the hirigana for it, press space, and then select the right kanji from the list  hope that helps :3 hah, although if u dont have windows xp then i cant help ya lol :/ | |
