It's kind of embarrassing to talk to friends about Stepmania or DDR and use the term "simfile" as though it were an everyday term.

Although I'm not entirely sure what the official definition of a simfile is either.

Simfile- A conjuction word meaning "simulation file".


That's actually my guess.






Also, soon our machine will have a new hdd, so i'm going to start stacking simfiles. I'm hoping it'll hold around 5,000.

Sim is a prefix that implies that it was made by scratch. I'm not sure if that's clear, but take the Sims series of games for instance. You make everything. A simfile can't be computed by itself.

I know it's over a 1000 xD I have basically every song that appeared on DDR. Me luvs my SM to be pregnant with a billion song babies!!!

I have 15,292 songs, 238 groups, and 1738 courses.I have been saving these for over a years now.

6500+ simfiles. No duplicates, all officials, all pad-friendly, all re-synched by me over 20% with music videos, about 7 years worth of dedication. I'm very picky about which file I keep or delete, sometimes I will delete an entire pack, sometimes I'll keep one or two files, sometimes 1/5th, sometimes half (if it's really good), sometimes I'll fix steps if they are messed up, all the time I fix synching. I always check to make sure I don't already have the same song in my collection. So I've probably deleted 15,000 simfiles while building my collection.

And YES I play them all, I have a 40-song workout course I play that picks songs randomly, I like not knowing what is next, but knowing it will be on-beat.

Really? For a long time that's all there was. Checkout MJEmzerian's simfiles, Udderdude's Simfiles, anything from ddrextreme.co.uk, most of the old Tournamix's, DWIExtreme, DDR4Ever simfiles, of course all the DDR officials, the ITG officials + 3 and Rebirth, Penguinman's Simfiles, and a bunch more.

I stay the hell away from Keyboard packs, or even the nonsense ITG packs where the kids play by bracket raping (those expert only 13+ only files).

Oh yeah and I only have 30 files, about 250 songs per pack, sorted by Genre or official mix. It's like 28GB all together.
