I Can't Get An AA!

Okay, recently I've been not getting AA's which is injustice! Look a this:

This should obviously be an AA, but no!

Then look at this:

AAAs are still possible so why not this?

I'm currently using the DDR Supernova theme, but I've gotten AAs on that theme before.

It started happening a couple of days ago. I just thought that if I FC'd a song I would get one. I was surprised when I only got an A!

I recently downloaded Ridiculous Timing, but deleted it because it sucks, but I did change the files it told me too (Stepmania Config Settings, Metrics) which might be the problem, so if anyone can give me the default settings for them I'll see if that makes a different.

I WANT MY EXTRA STAGES BACK!

its cuz u got a great. U gotta get all perfects for the AA i think. I know that when I got my AA I had a hard time, and realized that it was becasue I kept getting only 1 or 2 greats...it sucked...not so great haha

No that's an AAA, an AA is if you get 95% perfects (basically 9.500,000 points or more (if it's a 10 footer)). It depends on the Perfects and Marvelouses you get.

No; I got an AA once with 3 greats.

You can get a AA without even FCing the song. I'm not exactly sure why with only 1 Great you didn't get a AA but that's just unlucky.

You can get a AA with more than 3 Greats you know. Like Ben said, it's about the amount of Perfects/Marvelous you get, not the Greats.

It must be your theme... try on default theme to test this "non AA" theory

it's not the theme either, I've tested the supernova theme and that's not the problem; check your grading tiers in the Stepmania.ini to make sure your AA isn't set to 100.000000 (that would be Tier3 if your unsure)

Tier1(AAAA) and Tier2(AAA) will be set to 100

well as far as i can see, the first one has a lower score, by a whole number place,
9 million vs 79 million,
but how?!?!
im just as confused now anyway!

A question: did the Candy steps have freezes?

I see that it's challenge.

If you had no O.K.'s when there were freezes, then you might not get the AA (if there were many freezes). Worse, you might fail.

with freeze = less than 39 or maybe 36 greats
w/out freeze = less than 33 greats

The other thing I wish to tell you is that the grade is based on percentages, not fixed numbers of greats/worse.

A jump is counted as two steps in "max combo" and one step in judgement counts.
